Very nice cabin. Excellent location. Good attention from the owner.

  • 5 of 5

Location on this lake is excellent. Quiet. On a Cove that opens to the bigger lake. No wake area on this Cove. Pontoon boat was great. Takes 2 minutes to motor to the big lake. Frogs at night, loons in the morning and evening. Deer wander by. Quick access to convenience store, general store and good grocery store and Peegios Tavern. Can zip to TCity in 15 minutes. Feelingly of privacy because cannot see other houses. Smooth kayaking. Good fishing.

Very clean, quaint cabin in the woods

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was very clean and perfect size for a weekend getaway. Not far from the city at all but secluded to feel comfortable.

Quiet summer getaway!

  • 4 of 5

We had a very nice summer getaway in this cabin. Bright and sunny on the deck in the morning and roosting marshmallows by the camp fire if the evening. Plenty wildlife observed through the week including squirrels, birds, deer, fox and a bobcat! Close enough to down town Traverse City to visit for a nice dinner.

The small channel the cabin sets on is not much for swimming (maybe fishing) but the pontoon boat allowed us to explore the lake and enjoy the nice sandbar where boaters gather.

We enjoyed our stay and would like to return!

Had a great time.

  • 4 of 5

We loved the cabin and how peaceful it was. A nice bonus was the pontoon boat they included. The owner responded to us right away whenever we had a question and they were very detailed about everything. It was great. The only thing was the pull out couch was so uncomfortable we were unable to use it. It also would have been nice to have a 3rd fan so every room had one since some nights it was really warm. Other than that we had a lot of fun. Definitely a good find.

It was great, terrific!

  • 5 of 5

Gosh! What terrific owners they are. They answered our phone call in time of need & very short notice. We even had our small collie with us and they obliged. He loved watching out the french door window while ducks flew over. It also has a cute backyard with dock. Very cozy and only 10 miles from downtown traverse city.

Owner's Response: So glad you took the chance and contacted us... We have 10 places here on Spider Lake, 12 miles SE of downtown Traverse City .. in the woods.. on the lake...quite and secluded. When you need to get away, start driving north and call us.. text us.. or email us and we'll get something ready... we can handle 2 people up to 12 people in one place. Get the Home Away App on your phone. It is best to make arrangements ahead of time,, but don't be afraid to ask ! This is more than a "hotel room" ... it's a whole house !

Quiet lake cottage

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a relaxing, peaceful escape to a quiet lake cottage, look no further! Great for a small family, and pet-friendly, we enjoyed our week at Wilkins Landing II. An added extra benefit was the use of the pontoon boat, as we spent a lot of our week on the waters of Spider Lake. Located just outside of Traverse City, you are close enough to run into town as needed, but still have the feeling of getting away from it all. Highly recommended.

Owner's Response: First I want to THANK this family for taking such nice care of Wilkins Landing II. Coming Up North and spending your days on and at the lake is what it is all about and spending time together doing the simple things like fishing, swimming, floating is giving your kids memories of a lifetime. Thank you for loving Wilkins Landing II and Spider Lake. You are why we have been doing this for 25 years ! Kathy

The region is also home to many award winning wineries where you can tour and taste ! Two casinos are in the area w/gaming & entertainment options year round. Winter time brings snow, SNOW & more snow & the state keeps trails groomed for X-C skiing, snowshoeing & snowmobiling + keeps the place beautiful & white - just like a Christmas card picture. While there are many reasons to come to this area of god's country - don't forget to schedule some time for R & R ! The best reason of all ! Other Activities: Snow shoeing, X-country skiing, snowmobiling, Kayaking, tubeing, canoeing

Golf: Love to Golf a different place everyday? Would you rather stay 'off the beaten path' ? Why settle for a 'room'....How about a Cabin in the Woods? A Vacation Home on the lake? Would you like to do a little boating or fishing in between rounds? Forget the Hotel on the Miracle Mile! Come stay - in the woods, off the highway and on the lake! You will only feel like you are in the middle of nowhere! There is easy access to town and all the Golf Courses you could possibly want... and they are all a scenic drive away!

Ski: Cross Country Skiing at it's best -- with all the natural snow Grand Traverse County gets, All the State Groomed Trails to use for free ! - just grab your skis or snowshoes and come up to the woods-- get a pot of Chili cooking before you start out and it will be waiting when you get back - forget the 'Miracle Mile' of hotels, motels and restaurants.. stay out here, in the woods and close to nature. Yes, we have downhill slopes nearby if that's your kind of skiing ! There is something for everyone.
