You, your family, and your friends will thoroughly enjoy your stay at our home in Bonaire. Designed for open living, the second floor has an open kitchen with a dining and living area that expands to the covered, wrap around deck outside. The sliding louvered doors open up to allow the gentle trade winds to sooth you and your guests while dining or entertaining.
The wrap around deck offers two cozy areas for outside cocktails and dining, prepared on the grill or in the fully equipped kitchen. The kids can connect their laptop to the internet while you enjoy a beautiful sunset from the deck. We count the Loras as they fly home to roost each night. Sometimes a trio of donkeys stroll by along the road.
Two of the four bedrooms have queen size beds and walk-in closets for your comfort. They both have full size private baths and doors exit out onto the first floor patio and gardens. The other two bedrooms contain two twin beds each, built in wardrobes, and share a full size bathroom. The larger of these two bedrooms also exits onto the first floor patio.
There are several dive sites within less than 5 minutes from the house. In fact, you can dive from the shared dock in the neighborhood if you are so inclined. The dock makes a beautiful spot for an afternoon of snorkeling and you can also enjoy a very nice sunset there with a cold beer or drink. Be sure to bring some bread to feed the fish.
You will fully enjoy your stay here in your own house in Bonaire. The privacy and secluded setting of the neighborhood will welcome you back from the days adventures of scuba diving and exploring the beautiful island of Bonaire.
This house was designed and completed in 2007. The location is in the exclusive neighborhood of Sabadeco, Bonaire and is situated in a very private setting with many other beautiful homes.
The Caribbean open living concept is truly unique and enjoyable. Designed to capture the full benefits of the Trade Winds, the house is naturally cool. Living is on the second floor where the winds are pleasantly present. Sleeping is on the first floor with individually air conditioned rooms. You will feel very comfortable here and feel like it's your home in the Caribbean.
My brother and I own this house. We purchased the land in 2004 and used an architect and builder from Bonaire to complete the project in the fall of 2008.
I have stayed in the home twice myself and I am very pleased with the overall design and construction. The furnishings were both purchased in Bonaire and shipped in new from the US.
The atmosphere is very peaceful and relaxing as it is off the beaten path in the residential development of Sabadeco. Sabadeco is an exclusive neighborhood with many multi-million dollar homes. The proximity to the ocean and dive sites in Karpata was a key factor in deciding to build here. It is still a very wild and beautiful location on the island.
I hope you enjoy your stay here as much as I have. Your comments, both positive and negative are welcome. If there is something you particularly enjoyed, please share it with us. And, if there is something that was not so pleasant, please let us know. We would like to make things better for your next visit and those of others.
This is a great property with a great location. It’s in a quiet neighborhood north of town but close enough for easy access to any services or restaurants in town. It’s also well on the way to the dozens of the northern west coast dive sites so you're at the first with a five minute drive. The standout feature upstairs are beautiful louvered hardwood sliding doors that fan-fold and make the walls disappear so that the house opens up to great airflow, wraparound decks, views of the ocean and a feeling of being completely outdoors. We're foodies and appreciated the kitchen-- very modern, nicely laid out and well equipped. And with the sliders open it's a few steps out to a great breakfast view in the morning and cocktails in the evening. All the downstairs bedrooms have their own split A/C units, generous storage areas and the same type of louvered hardwood doors that let them be closed and private or open and airy. There’s a lot to do and see on Bonaire so there were lots of activities competing for our attention but if you want a lazy end of the day it’s a pleasant walk thru the neighborhood to the closest beaches for sunsets into the water. The house is a great home base for any mix of Bonaire visit activities.
First and foremost the greatest thing about this property is the breeze! I've been to Bonaire a few times now and the one thing every other house I've rented is missing is the airflow this house provides. Opening the full range balcony doors on the top level not only cools down the room, but also makes for a tremendous view of the ocean.
This house has all the amenities you could ask for- a fully functioning kitchen, several fully functional climate controlled bedrooms, and an open wrap around deck.
This location is only minutes away from town, offers a great view, and even has several great dive spots minutes down the road.
I recommend this house for anyone whether it be families, honeymooners, or friends looking for the dive trip of their life.
When I went to Bonaire I stayed in Sabadeco at this home. Saying my stay was great or wonderful would be an understatement. From the time the jet landed to when I left the Island a review could not begin a say what a vacation this was. The house is not far from town so it is easy to get to a store or restaurant but far enough away so it is quite. From Lac Bay to Washington Slagbaai National Park the Island has more than enough below and above water to keep busy. After a full day of adventure the first floor of the house has plenty of bed and bath to refresh. The upper level has an open floor plan with everything you need or would want and sliding the wall open to walk out on the deck topped it off. Talk about letting in a fresh ocean breeze. I look forward to my next chance to visit Bonaire and stay at this home again. I would recommend this home for a vacation stay to everyone, singles, groups of friends, families with children & teens or even a girls getaway. Talk about a wedding party escape this would be something they won't forget.
great views from the deck, quiet neighborhood, close proximity to some of the best dive sites, modern and comfortable amenities The top reason i would return here is the house is situated to take advantage of the trade winds. it is always comfortable.
I have stayed at Sabadeco on many, many occasions with friends & family. This place is our 'home away from home.' The house is fully equipped with everything you need and the view from the balcony is spectacular. I especially love the fact that the first floor is perfect for hanging out on the balcony while cooking on the grill, yes, right there on the balcony! The sunrise & sunsets are spectacular, but the magic begins when you are lounging on the balcony and all of a sudden you see & hear oh so many 'lora's' (parrots) flying above going to bed in the late afternoon. That is one incredible and beautiful experience at the same time. I highly recommend the Sabadeco house to anyone going to dive (there is a pier close-by where you can get into the ocean), to have an adventure & explore the island or to just hang out during a well-deserved R & R vacation....
There are many excellent dive operators on the island that offer introductory and advanced dive courses. Inexperienced divers can come to Bonaire and become certified in 3-4 day courses. Advanced certifications and underwater photography classes are also available from reputable establishments.
