Shocking stay

  • 1 of 5

Part 1: Absolutely horrific experience! We arrived at this villa on the 27th of August for outlook festival. The owners of the villa lived opposite us, but didn't speak any English so their daughter was the key holder, who let us in and was asking if we were looking forward to the festival and gave us some taxi numbers. She laid out a lot of rules which we respected, even though some of them were ridiculous. We were only allowed in the pool at certain times, we weren't allowed floats in the pool, we had to pay for sun loungers if we wanted to use them. On certain websites which advertised this villa, it did not state that it was a shared pool and shared outside area. On the website it also didn't state that we had to pay for things such as using the air conditioning, using the washing machine, using the towels. Basic amenities were not provided, such as soap, toilet paper, washing up liquid and towels. The wifi provided wasn't even in our villa, it was in the home owners villa, we had to sit outside our villa to even use it. On our second day the key holder came in to our villa in the morning, unannounced. She said she was just checking in on us. The following day she did the same, just walked in without even texting us to say she was coming. On the Monday night we had 2 of our friends over, we weren't being loud and we had informed the neighbours that if we were loud then they could text one of us or knock on the door which they did not do at any point. The following day the key holder came in and told us that it wasn't a problem for our friends to be there, but next time they must show there passports. On the Wednesday morning she came in again. By this time we were confused as to why she was checking in on us every day. She wasn't checking in on our two neighbours which were two families. We felt as if because we were a group of six 19 year olds, she didn't trust us and was invading our privacy each morning. On the Thursday morning she came in again complaining that we had left a light on. The owners house opposite us had obviously noticed this. We felt as if we were constantly being watched, they had cctv cameras on the front of their house. We didn't feel as if we were on holiday. On the Friday she let herself in early again. She barged in to all of our rooms whilst most of us were sleeping. She said she was checking that we didn't have people round.
