About Lisa Rudacil

Rudy and I live in Silver Spring, MD, which is less than a two hour drive from Colonial Beach. I have been going to CB since 1986, to visit our friend, whose grandparents built a cottage at the Beach before the Gov Harry Nice Bridge was built. There used to be a ferry boat carrying thousands of visitors from DC and Maryland that floated down the Potomac River to the beach. We fell in love with the Quiet Neighborhood, beautiful sunsets and the restaurants! We decided to buy our cottage as a home away from home.

Lisa Rudacil purchased this cottage in 2002

Why Lisa Rudacil chose Chesapeake Bay - Northern Neck

Our cottage is two houses away from a wonderful view of Monroe Bay, which the locals call the Creek. It's so beautiful in the summer time to take a walk, ride your bike or take a golf cart ride around this part of Colonial Beach. We love our back deck and our large fenced in back yard.

What makes this cottage unique

Our cottage is an original cottages and is really cozy! Dog owners love bringing their companions with them on their trips, which is great, because we have a huge fenced in back yard. Our Four Seasons Cottage takes you back to simpler times, while providing all the comforts that make for a really nice vacation getaway! Bike Fest Oct 5-8th.

Comfortable, relaxing vacation spot.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our week in Colonial Beach. Our cottage was clean, comfortable and well-stocked. We will return; and we will select The Four Season's Cottage. It was inviting and relaxing. It it perfect for two to four people. With only one bathroom, five or six would be crowded. The dining area is spacious, but the actual living area is on the small size, but comfty and cozy for a couple or a family of four. We loved the area, a lot of historic attractions, we enjoyed swimming and the beach, good restaurants. We appreciated the small town and very friendly people. Quite different, not a million beach shops and other tourist trappings. Great fireworks on July 4th and enjoyed the live music. Lisa and Rudy were outstanding owners, responded quickly to email questions prior to our visit, and we knew they really wanted us to have a good time and enjoy their home. They made everything easy upon arrival and departure. I have already recommended Colonial Beach and The Four Seasons Cottage to friends and family.

Quaint and Vintage

  • 4 of 5

The cottage has older charm. It was very clean. We have a thing about hair and there was no hair on the bed, floor or furniture. The nieghboorhood was cute and quiet. All the homes are close together. There are a lot of historical sites with in 20 minutes. The jellyfish are bioilluminescent. You will have to go see them. The couch was hard and an iron would have been good. Early April was a quiet time but it seems that the crowd picks up later in the year. We enjoyed the Four Seasons Resaurant and Horne's.

Owner's Response: Thank you for giving us the suggestion of an putting an iron in the cottage. We can definitely do that! Our cottage is in a regular Colonial Beach neighborhood, quiet and quaint and an original cottage from the late 1940-1950s.

Great low key family getaway

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time at the 4 Seasons cottage. Even though it was a rainy/windy weekend, we were comfortable, always warm and had everything we needed in the cottage. The town is lovely and when was not raining we went for walks on the boardwalk, the kids rode their scooters to the park, and we all had lunch at the Dockside restaurant. The big fenced backyard was perfect for our dog.

The neighbors were also nice and friendly.
