Rudy and I live in Silver Spring, MD, which is less than a two hour drive from Colonial Beach. I have been going to CB since 1986, to visit our friend whose grandparents built a cottage at the Beach before the Gov Harry Nice Bridge was built. There used to be a ferry boat carrying thousands of visitors from DC and Maryland that floated down the Potomac River to the beach. We fell in love with the quiet neighborhood, beautiful sunsets and the restaurants! We decided to buy our cottage as a home away from home.
Lisa Rudacil purchased this cottage in 2002
Our cottage is two houses away from a wonderful view of Monroe Bay, which the locals call the Creek. It's so beautiful in the summer time to take a walk, ride your bike or take a golf cart ride around this part of Colonial Beach. We love our back deck and our large fenced in back yard.
Our cottage is an original cottages and is really cozy! Dog owners love bringing their companions with them on their trips, which is great, because we have a huge fenced in back yard. Our Four Seasons Cottage takes you back to simpler times, while providing all the comforts that make for a really nice vacation getaway!
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Rudacil, We had a wonderful week, great time Sunday the 4th as we had a family picnic. You have a lovely place and we felt at home. I'll be in touch about next year.
We enjoyed our week in Colonial Beach. Our cottage was clean, comfortable and well-stocked. We will return; and we will select The Four Season's Cottage. It was inviting and relaxing. It it perfect for two to four people. With only one bathroom, five or six would be crowded. The dining area is spacious, but the actual living area is on the small size, but comfty and cozy for a couple or a family of four. We loved the area, a lot of historic attractions, we enjoyed swimming and the beach, good restaurants. We appreciated the small town and very friendly people. Quite different, not a million beach shops and other tourist trappings. Great fireworks on July 4th and enjoyed the live music. Lisa and Rudy were outstanding owners, responded quickly to email questions prior to our visit, and we knew they really wanted us to have a good time and enjoy their home. They made everything easy upon arrival and departure. I have already recommended Colonial Beach and The Four Seasons Cottage to friends and family.
This home was perfect for the 4 of us who were down there for a hunting trip. Would stay there again.
Such a beautiful home in a wonderful location. Could not have enjoyed our stay more.
This cottage had everything you needed. We took too many things with us that we didn't need to it was already there. Nice quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Front and back porch were nice to relax on. Squirrels in back yard were fun to watch.
The cottage was very clean and comfortable. Overall wonderful experience and will be returning next vacation. Would definitely recommend staying here!
