Overview

About the property

4 br plus a sleeping loft with 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 12-13

Thanks for finding us – we’d love for you to rent our home!

We have free WI FI and we welcome a family pet-

Our Chalet boasts high ceilings, an open floor plan and a large deck that looks out to our ½ acre back yard and a small pond. ( The pond is not a swimming pond) Sometimes you might get lucky and see a thirsty deer that has stopped by to drink from the pond. We are a 5 minute walk to Echo Lake. MY favorite summer spot!

In the fall and summer we have a fire pit outside that is surrounded in a big sand pit with adirondack chairs for lounging which make the evenings outside with family or friends even more fun.

Additionally, we have a swing set with slide, a trampoline, and a sand box to keep the kids busy! We also have a NEW kids club house that is accessible by a ship ramp and has a slide for coming down. Under the house there is a 5x6 sand box with toys. This keeps the kids busy for hours and you can watch them play from the deck.

Additionally we provide a kids area in the house that has books, toys, kids dads and a tv

We also have new horseshoe pits and horseshoes!

We are located in a wooded neighborhood in the heart of the White Mountains, just a mile from downtown North Conway. Less than half a mile down the road is Echo Lake, a beautiful little lake with a swimming beach and a lifeguard in the summertime, sitting just at the base of both Whitehorse and Cathedral Ledges.

On your way into town, you will pass the popular Saco river, a great spot for kayaking or tubing on a hot summer day. Downtown North Conway has fun shops & boutiques, restaurants, and ice cream. Also nearby is the town of Jackson, another great spot to visit.

Our house sleeps 11-12 people. We have 4 bedrooms plus a sleeping loft. 2 bedrooms are downstairs. One of them is loft style upstairs. (one side is open) There is a ladder which takes you up to the loft bedroom.

Inviting Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful and rustic hideaway. A-frame is clean, spacious and located in a secluded area just off of a main road that leads to North Conway. The little town oozes classic New England charm. We loved it.

The house is surrounded by mountains that are great for hiking and exploring yet close to outlets for shopping... Owners responded right away to any questions during stay. Can’t wait to visit this NH escape again.

Fantastic place to stay

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a wonderful time over the thanksgiving holiday. Plenty of sleeping space for my husband and I with our 3 children and my in-laws. Very clean and spacious with lots of sleeping room. My older daughter loved sleeping in the loft area. All the rooms were clean and carpeting, windows and appliances looked good. There were plenty of games and movies available and a additional kids area with a separate TV was a nice touch. Spacious deck to sit and have coffee in the morning overlooking the pond. Awesome outdoor space for the kids. They loved playing on the swings and the clubhouse with a slide and We were able to relax on the deck and watch them play. In the evenings we enjoyed sitting around the fire pit the kids made SMORES. This place is in a great quiet location and very close to the lake which we took kids down. What a beautiful place to go. Not to far from restaurants and shopping. Our family had such a worry free relaxing time. We cant say enough and we'll defiantly come back!

Property need attention inside and out

  • 2 of 5

The cleaning crew definitely could have done better job. We found dirty clothes in a cabinet from a prior guest. Food left in fridge and freezer. Vacuuming needed redoing. We filled the vacuum when we did it when we got there. Dishes, utensils, and pans all needed rewashing. Towels were left In The dryer. All the windows are filthy, the screens in disrepair or filthy. The screen on the slider door to the deck needs fixing. The carpeting throughout need replacing as they are bubbling and or stained beyond cleaning. Some cabinet doors in kitchen need repairing. The toilet paper holder in upstairs bathroom need fixing. The stove fan screen needs drastic cleaning or replacement. The light bulb above stove need fixing. The lamp in the upper loft needs replacing. The side screen door needs fixing.

There were water bottles and cans all over the property. We cleaned them all up. There was trash by the fire pit we cleaned that up.

The swing and slide set was too dirty to let a child play on it.

I recommended the property manager check the wood stove flue as there was smoke inside the house when using it. Also trim the trees around the chimney which would help with the up-draft on the chimney. We are experienced with with wood stoves and fireplaces.

The house has a moldy odor and 4 of our group have asthma and had to use their inhalers plus had trouble after we left. We found black mold behind one bed.

Remember on Columbus Day weekend the refuse station is closed on Monday. I remember going there past years on Monday. So this must be new. The property manager offered to take care of the trash, but the offer came after the 10:00 am checkout time and we already took the trash with us.

The home away site stated to bring towels and linen which we did. We were surprised there was sheets and pillowcases on the beds. However they didn't smell too clean so we used our own that we brought.

It's also listed as a 4 bedroom with a loft. However it's really a 3 bedroom with a 2nd floor loft and a 3rd floor crawl loft with ladder. The sleeping areas are tight.

This can be a great property but needs some TLC inside and out. The location is great. The layout is good. The stove and fridge are good. The living area comfortable. The beds were comfortable.

I also recommend a direct contact phone number to contact you and not a business line not related to the property. The mailbox was full.

Owner's Response: I want to let you know that Im very upset that the inside and outside of the house was not clean to good standard. If I had known right away I would have sent the cleaner right back. That is disappointing as my cleaner usually does a good job. But its not acceptable for the property not to be clean for my guests! As you might notice we have never had such a negative review. Thank you for bringing the cleaning issue to my attention. I have recently fired the cleaner and got a different service which I just spot checked and they did an excellent job! They also cleaned the outside and kids swings. You failed to state that as a result of this I refunded you your cleaning fee and some more due to the inconvenience. The windows -- ( they were bad!) it was unfortunate timing as the man was supposed to come and replace 5 windows which all needed new screens and updating but he postponed due to a family emergency. He has since installed 5 new windows and fixed the porch screen. They really make the house look brighter! He also repaired cabinet doors while he was there and put the chimney flue the appropriate way.. Sometimes guests fiddle with it and leave it the wrong way. I just double checked the site and it states that we do provide linens and the new cleaners have assured me that all will be thoroughly washed each time. As aways, I provide a response within minutes or hours to all of my guests. My line is my personal contact and also my business line. Its my cell phone... I check my email hourly as well. As it is with any review ,, you look at the majority,,, I’m sorry that you had this experience I also had to deal with complaints from my neighbors that these folks were very loud. Another few updates we just did was we had the bathrooms painted and all of the carpets steam cleaned. They came out great. Im sure that the next guests will be more than happy with our home.

Perfect location, great home!

  • 4 of 5

We just spent a week in this home with 6 adults and 2 children. There were some issues that happened prior to us getting there but the owner was on top of it and let us know everything that was going on. I wouldn't say it was walking distance to echo lake with 2 young kids but it was only a minute drive which was perfect! It was located just a short drive from downtown and from all other attractions in the area. I loved that it was on the back road so we never got stuck sitting on the Main Street traffic.

We will consider this home again if we plan another family vacation to Conway in the future!

Great location. Plenty of space for everyone

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful family vacation at this house. On our second day, during morning coffee on the deck we saw a bear walk through the yard to take a dip in the pond. Amazing. Would go back again.
