This special vacation retreat rests amidst expensive homes of the 'rich and famous' (Kauai scenes from Honeymoon in Vegas were filmed at our neighbors home, and Hollywood stars are frequently spotted here), yet this home offers a surprisingly affordable opportunity to experience one of the true gems of 'Old Hawaii'. Anini Beach is relaxation paradise at its finest!
Situated 77 paces from a safe and tranquil swimming beach, a rarity on the North Shore, with gentle mountains looking on from above, this nearly three mile long gold-sand beach is protected from the open ocean by the longest, widest fringing reef in all of Hawaii. This makes Anini Beach one of Kauai's safest beaches for swimming, windsurfing, fishing and kayaking year round. With shallow water - three to five feet deep - it's also one of the best snorkel and dive locations on Kauai, for beginners or experts alike. Within steps from this home, you’ll find pockets of turquoise reefs that offer glimpses of rare tropical fish and underwater sea life that can only be found on Kauai. Walk the beach at sunrise and sunset, and you will feel as if you have been reborn. Or just spend the day looking for the rare seashells that wash upon the gentle shore or reading that book you’ve been putting off for too long.
Whatever your true need, let the miracle of Anini Beach replenish your soul as the ocean waves lull you to sleep at night and refresh you as you wake each morning. Moments of tranquility and spectacular beauty that you will recall years after leaving. Memories that will call for your return for years to come. Find that special Anini Moment that you and your loved ones will cherish for a lifetime!!!
Relax... You've found Paradise!!!
Mahalo for your visit. And as we say on Kauai, 'A Hui Hou' or 'Until we meet Again!'
Aloha Nui Loa!
Of the many times we've visited beautiful Kauai over the years, this was the most perfect of them all. Your home is truly filled with aloha. We enjoyed and appreciated the soulfulness of your home with its shells, coral, plants and flowers everywhere. The gifts you left for us were so great! Thanks! (Loved the wine!) We took the Hawaiian CD you made for us in the car, which made the incomparable drives here even more lovely. We also enjoyed the morning chorus of birds outside our bedroom window and often lingered to hear just a little more. We will definitely be back and thank you again for sharing this place with us and for your amazing thoughtfulness. Mahalo Nui Loa!
Location, Location, location says it all. What a place to stay and relax or enjoy the outdoors. Great eating location inside the house or out on the porch. From the breakfast table you can enjoy watching the ocean or listening to the birds. Now plan your day, the porch is loaded with snorkeling gear, water shoes, boogie boards and sand toys. Plus beach umbrella but you don't need them just walk to beach turn left go around big tree and enjoy the shade. Everyday snorkel with the turtles. You can get within inches if you want it doesn't seem to bother them. Now make a reservation with seabreeze tours to Napali coast in the morning , explore the waterfalls, cliffs and caves. The skipper takes you inside the caves. And this is only a 300 foot walk from your front door. He backs his catamaran from his drive onto the park boat ram. The kitchen in the house is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes silverware, spices and a lot more. Those trade winds come in the front of the house and out the back. If you need there are plenty of fans to cool you down. Living areas very spacious. And your host goes above and beyond to insure every need is met. Oh, the beds are comfortable. Thank you Clover we will return.
If you are looking for reliably calm beach and clear snorkel conditions in July this is your rental home. I agree with all the positive things reviewers before me said but will add a few convenience comments I appreciated about Clover's rental home. I loved having the outdoor hot shower to rinse the sand and salt water off before entering the house. I appreciated having a washer and dryer to freshen our beach towels when necessary. Clover even supplied the detergent as well as all the kitchen necessities. The front porch has a nice line for drying wet suits and towels. It also has an amazing collection of beach toys like boogie boards, masks, fins etc. Clover greeted us warmly then respected our privacy our whole time there. She enables visitors to conveniently recycle and compost while there. She also provides, maps for shopping and getting there, information for farmer's market days and has a great library of Kauai Guide resources. If I ever return to Kauai I will surely stay there again.
This was without doubt one of the most enjoyable vacations I've had. Clover's house on Anini beach is one of the most beautiful locations one can imagine. The Anini beach reef is perfect for snorkeling - which we did every day. It is quite shallow so great for children. Our 9 year old learned to snorkel there and was part fish when we left. We saw many, many turtles, moray eels and octopi. The house is extremely comfortable and across the street from the beach. It couldn't be more convenient. We ended every evening on the large deck enjoying the sound of the surf, the breeze and some wine. Clover was extremely helpful and responsive if we needed anything. I've had houses in Hawaii myself on the Big Island. But when you picture or think about Hawaii, it's a location like Anini beach and Clover's house. We are making plans for returning next year!
We absolutely loved this place and have only positive things to say about it. Everything was stellar, from the property owner to the location to the condition of the house. Just perfect. I swam with turtles every day from our own private beach area!!! It was just heavenly. We would absolutely stay here again and again and again.
Just wanted to say that this was the first time to Hawaii for both myself and my wife, we got married on this trip in Hanalai Bay. It was amazing and it really couldn't of gone any better, from booking this beautiful home to getting advice from Clover on sites to see and places to eat, she was AMAZING!!!! She was always there to offer advice and was great to get to know. We are already planning our trip next year to go back to this house, it has a wonderful location with great views of the ocean in a nice quiet neighborhood and is only 15 min from Hanalai where we spent most our time. Oh and being so close to the beach we spent every night out there swimming and snorkeling, my wife and I even saw two sea turtles that swam along side us, it was a BLAST!!! Can't wait to go back. :)
3 couples stayed here for 10 nights and we were all very comfortable. There is a view of the ocean through the dining room window and Anini beach is only steps away. This beach was calm and I'm told it has good snorkeling and sea turtles, but we never saw any here. We saw the most turtles over on the South side. The weather wasn't perfect during our stay, but it was still paradise and we snapped the most amazing sunrise photo with the sun coming up behind Kilauea light house. When we needed something from the owner, Clover, I simply texted her and it was kindly delivered to our doorstep (extra fans or whatever). The house is extremely comfortable with tons of extras (towels/beach chairs/snorkel gear/books/movies) and I liked that there is a washer/dryer, recycling and composting!! Seating at the bar area in the kitchen could use a few more tall chairs, as we all seemed to gather there. We cooked most of our meals at home and went to foodland nearly every day. If you like POKE, this is the place to get it! We spent a lot of time in Hanalei and loved Calypsos!! We drove to the end of the North side a few times to Ke'e Beach (good sunset). We ate at Sushi Girl! If she offers the honeycomb roll...TRY IT! We hiked the Napali Coast to the beach. That took like 4-5 hours, but is the most amazing view you will ever see. You must drive the Waimea Canyon and take a boat ride to the Napali Coast! When on the west side, be sure to catch the sunset at Salt Pond Beach. This was actually our favorite beach on the island and the sunsets are amazing! Not enough attention is given to Queens Bath either, which was only a 5 min drive from the house, in Princeville. There is a small, but gorgeous walk to an expansive cliff view over lava rock(wear your reef shoes). We saw several turtles here and a cliff jumper! On the way out, we stopped at the small, but picturesque waterfall. Its only about hip deep and you can get in and let the water fall onto your back. Its just beautiful in there! Watch out for the RED MUD. The South side is dryer, but the North side is one big botanical garden. If you spend ANY time whatsoever in a forested area, keep bug spray on hand. Mosquitos are relentless.
We loved this location, the house and our time on Kauai!! Oh and one special shout out to Clover, who saved us when our car battery had died!! We would have missed our flight home if she hadn't given us a jump! Thanks Clover, for everything!
