About Brea Gratia & David Robinson

I, David, discovered Asheville when I first met Brea. She was very interested in living in Asheville and after knowing her for one month, she invited me to visit Asheville with her for the New Year. Even during the winter, we were hiking, visiting the Biltmore Estate and enjoying many outdoor activities. Brea achieved her goal - I did fall for the beauty of Asheville. After Brea's success in renting her Chalet Quietude, it seemed like the best way to invest and have a connection to Asheville. It's hard to travel anywhere when Asheville is calling. Brea manages my property and is very personable; making sure she establishes a quick relationship with each of our guests.

Why Brea Gratia & David Robinson chose Fairview

I wanted a property that was open with many windows, had great views and was located on a pristine mountain. When I first found the property, it needed some updating and TLC. After renovations, the Woodlands Chalet became a reality. One of the many reasons I fell for this property was the location and the forest. It is not far from downtown Asheville, yet located in a forest setting. The chalet is located at about 3400 feet altitude so summer's are cool and refreshing. It is a great place to sit on the deck and enjoy the sounds of nature.

What makes this chalet unique

The woods - the forest...hence the name Woodlands Chalet. Open dining room with forest views on two sides is a great dining experience. Relaxing or dining on the deck in spring, summer and fall is the very best way to enjoy the Woodlands Chalet. The view and serenity is priceless. Enjoying the view from inside or out is refreshing and relaxing. The drive into Asheville is easy as well as going to get groceries. The chalet is also perfect for two families because of the two distinct living areas which provides for privacy of each family.

Magical, cozy mountain retreat with stunning views

  • 5 of 5

What an idyllic mountain getaway. Not only was our stay at the Woodlands Chalet marvelous, but Brea, the host, was generous, helpful, and communicative before, during, and after our stay. (She and David even sent a lovely postcard to our home a few days before to help fuel our excitement!) We were a group of friends in town for a wedding, and while the Chalet is 25 minutes away (and up a pretty steep drive) from Asheville, it was nice to feel like we had a quiet retreat in an otherwise busy weekend. Thanks!

Lovely house nestled in the woods

  • 4 of 5

This house was just as lovely as the pictures. We spent hours relaxing on the back deck and in the hot tub, with its spectacular view.

Owner's Response: Tamar - thank you so much for your review. It mean so much to us for our guests to take the time to let others know how they enjoyed our property. You were here during August and we have had a most spectacular season of cool weather for a typical hot month for most in the country. Sitting on the deck in this weather with the lush canopy makes it even better. Glad you enjoyed your stay and we hope to hear from you again. Brea & David

excellent family vacation at the cabin

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Woodlands Chalet with our two children--ages 4 and 7 for 4 nights. The cabin was spacious and offered all that we needed and all that we wanted--a gorgeous mountain view and a hot tub!

Wonderful location & service

  • 5 of 5

15-20 minutes away from Ahesville. Great walking/hiking nearby, secluded and quiet. She really thought of everything for touches in the home, fully stocked home. Kids had a great time. I was glad we opted to take the 4-wheel drive car vs our minivan for the winding roads and steep driveways, but one could manage without 4-wheel drive if not in the winter. 2 king beds, 2 twin beds, daybed leaves plenty of room to sleep. My son said, "thatbed was so comfy; I had the best sleep in my life!" (lol 13 years). I lOVE the wrap around porch for quietly sipping coffee in the morning. The home and owner are lovely! Perfect place.

Owner's Response: Allison - David and I are so happy you enjoyed your stay. That's a lot for a 13 year old to mention the comfy bed. As for being fully stocked, we want our guests to feel at home. We made sure we had the tools and amenities to create all the comforts of home while our guests are visiting. When I used to visit from Texas, I would rent the smallest economy cars and never had problems with them getting up the mountain or navigating the roadways. Snow would be the only reason for 4WD and that's not often that it is even needed. Sipping coffee on the deck in the morning is just about the best and having dinner when weather is nice is another wonderful event at the Woodlands Chalet. We look forward to having you come stay again. Thanks so much for taking time to write a 5-star review. Brea & David

Hidden Gem

  • 5 of 5

The little cabin built into the hillside was the perfect retreat for our girls weekend. There were six of us and we had more than enough room. Remote and quiet, with fairly easy access to the town. Be mindful of the windy/steep road that takes you to this hidden gem. The hot tub on the deck with the gorgeous view was the highlight!

Owner's Response: Robin Thanks so much for your review. You have been one of our favorite guests. We're so glad you enjoyed the views and hot tub - they go well together and under the stars is even better. The roads are windy and in places steep, especially to "flatlanders"....we hear that on occasion. Yet, after a day, you surely get used to them. The roads, the altitude and scenery all make it the best place to visit. Thanks again - we look forward to your next visit. Brea & David
