About Tam Pursley
We live in Georgia, but have vacationed in Northern Michigan for over forty years. We love the beautiful, clear summer days and the crisp, cool nights. For us there is no place that compares to Northern Michigan!
Tam Pursley purchased this House in 2007
Why Tam Pursley chose Mackinaw City
After vacationing in Northern Michigan for many years, we began searching for a home to buy. We looked in many areas and communities, for several summers, and didn't really even consider Mackinaw City, ... until we looked at this home, and it's location. It fit our needs wonderfully with the soft, sandy shore, clear shallow water, friendly neighbors, and the convenience to town with the feeling of being far removed. The home we purchased was a small ranch. We remodeled by opening up and extending where we could, and adding a second floor with spacious bedrooms and an airy deck. We were able to keep a portion of the original cabin, by utilizing the knotty pine living room as the separate den / tv room. The location and the open-plan home are perfect for our family vacations, golf trips, and girls outings.
What makes this House unique
We are located in a small bay, just around the point from the Mackinaw Bridge. The sheltered bay and shallow water make our beaches sandy, and help the water warm just a little more than the deeper, colder waters of Lake Michigan. The lake and our shoreline are different every day. We love the glass-like, still water often seen in the early morning, and we love the crashing waves and surf that a blustery day can bring. Being inside as a storm rolls in is a treat as well. However, nothing beats the sunsets from our deck as a long day comes to an end.
