About Deborah Knorr
I am a contractor who specializes in restoration of historic homes in Washington, D.C. My wife and I have lived since the late 1990s in a 1876 Victorian home in LeDroit Park that I spent almost ten years restoring.
Deborah Knorr purchased this Townhome in 1999
Why Deborah Knorr chose Le Droit Park
This is a unique area of Washington, D.C. with great history and architecture. We have enjoyed meeting vistors from around the world in the year that we have offered the townhome as a vacation rental.

A wonderful place to stay
This is a beautiful property, which I cannot recommend highly enough. We were 7 in our party, so were very comfortable spread over the 4 bedrooms. I think it would be crowded with 14 though. The house was clean and tidy and all the furnishings and equipment are of the highest quality. Patrick, the landlord, was very friendly and helpful. Although on one occassion we were warned at the metro that the area was not safe to walk around at night, we felt perfectly safe walking to and from the metro, though we did not do this late at night. It is a short metro ride to the centre of Washington. Highly recommend hiring bikes from Thomson boat and cycle hire as a way of seeing the main sights. Do not bother with the Double Decker bus tours - they do not run frequently or regularly, nor do they keep to their scheduled route and stops. A complete waste of money and a precious days sight-seeing.
This is a very safe neighborhood from the Metro stops. The area is established as a historic district. I live in the area and I find it to be as safe as any location in DC. This is the only neighborhood that I would live in DC. I love it, it is quiet and friendly.
We had a great time visiting DC and staying at this house.
Very comfortable , nice.and close to everyplace we were interested in......great!
Beautiful older home, very comfortable. There were 5 of us, grandparents, parents, and 16 year old interested in politics. We met sweet neighbors and loved every minute. Thanks.......
Great place for a week with the family
Lovely property, walkable neighborhood, conveniently located to all that DC has to offer. Room to spread out with our group of 10.
Nice Home in Historic District
We were only 4 adults, but loved all the room in this house. We each had our own bed and own bathroom. We were pleasantly surprised to see all of the antiques here and there, especially the chandeliers. The basement is one bedroom with its own bathroom, TV and 2 beds. The other 3 bedrooms are upstairs and all have their own TV. All in all we were totally pleased with the house and the location.
Property was not ready for rental
Three days prior to reservation I attempted to contact the owner about early arrival. I used the VRBO "contact" link as well as the phone # provided on the listing. I repeated this the next two days until we actually arrived at the property. I never heard from the owner. When we arrived the house had not been cleaned after the previous guests. The used towels were in the tubs/showers, and the bed linens had been slept one. Because we weren't able to check in early and had commitments in the afternoon and evening, we didn't find this out until 9:30 PM. Fortunately we were able to get hold of the housekeepers who came with fresh towels and linens. They had not been told by the owner that a guest was coming!
We are now at the end of a three-day stay and the owner has not called or emailed to apologize or offer compensation.
I suggest you not rent this property until there is evidence the owner has figured out how to keep track of rentals!
