Breath-taking Banderas Bay
First of all, our communication with the owner was "spot on"! It was both informative and welcoming. It is a lovely home with all of the comforts! The kitchen was well-supplied, the beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were wonderful (with the rain-shower heads! Best of all is the view of the mountains and Banderas Bay-simply breathtaking.! We loved the property and hope to spend time there again.
It was everything we needed for a relaxing vacation.
Very close to the beach, pool and restaurant which is very convenient with kids.
Great quiet relaxing home on the water
If you are looking for pristine white sand beach and tons of resorts around, look elsewhere, but if you prefer a quiet secure/gated very well maintained property with lots of pools and a nice small beach (albeit rocky at low tide) and very good restaurant on site (albeit only one), then this property will not disappoint. Views are A+ from the unit. The small splash pool in the front yard is a nice bonus, and only a few yards from the beach area and restaurant.
You will need to take a taxi to anywhere but the one restaurant on site (they are available anytime almost immediately up at the security gate (a 3 minute walk). Average taxi cost to most restaurants within 5 miles is 5-10 US dollars only and the taxis are super safe and quick. The US Dollar is very strong so you will feel like you are using Monopoly Money when you taxi into town and buy lots of stuff or food for 60-75% less than you would spend in the US.
The owner (Mike) and his wife (Robin) are super responsive (usually within minutes), so all our questions weer answered promptly. There is also someone on site (Ramon) the owner works with in case of anything you need locally (for example he helped us reserve at a restuarant as we don't speak spanish so he called for us).
The lack of wide sandy beach to me almost made me deduct one star (as you need water shoes to enter the water (very rocky in the water), and that was not evident from the pictures, but I rounded up to 5 stars as that seems to be personal preference.
Enjoy your stay !
My family and I spent a week at Coral 2 last month. Our experience was wonderful. The owners are very attentive and provided a lot of helpful suggestions. The home is very well stocked and spacious. We were a group of seven and had more than enough space for everyone. The Punta Esmeralda property itself is very beautiful and well maintained. The home is a short drive away from several towns including Bucerias, La Cruz, Sayulita, and Puerto Vallarta. It was very convenient and relaxing to have the small pool right outside our door and the beach just steps away. The pool was cleaned at least 3 times during our stay. The only downside is that the beach is very rocky along the property but we visited the beautiful Las Detiladeras beach which is about a 15-minute drive away. Besides, the kids enjoyed going down and collecting cool rocks. We also enjoyed having coffee on the patio in the mornings and watching the sunrise over the mountains. It was fascinating to see the local fishermen and oyster divers at work from the comfort of our patio. Would definitely recommend Coral 2 to anyone looking for the perfect getaway! Thank you Michael and Robin!
Amazing views. Relaxing stay. Great hosts!
We stayed in Coral 2 for a week in mid-August. It is a great time to visit if you don't mind the heat at that time of year. We hear it was the low-season and looked forward to a more chill experience--we got it! There are few people in the resort adding to the overall tranquil feel of the place.
After looking the resort over, I feel like Coral two is the best location in the development. It is right on the beach, and right next to one of the largest of the many pools on the property. Yet it has privacy, as it is slightly elevated above the nearby paths and pool. It has its own wading pool and we frequently would relax in our own oasis listening to the sound of the ocean. When we wanted more water, we'd stroll over to the pool and swim around, or wade out in the bay, short steps away from the condo.
The gym on the property is great, and when I used it I was the only one in the place. It has great views of palm trees and grass to enjoy while you get your sweat on.
The restaurant at the Palapa was very good. We learned it is ideal to have pesos as they charge a little more when you use dollars or credit cards. Really, anywhere you go in the area will take dollars, but you are better off getting pesos at a local bank or atm at the "Mega" store down the road. Every fish dish we had was great. We would have been fine to eat there every night. The staff was friendly as well.
We loved the nearby town of Bucerias and wished we had spent more time there. You can walk there from the condo. We drove and had no trouble parking, but we were there during the low season. There are cafes and shops that offer a mellow experience.
Mike and Robin are great hosts. They made our stay a comfortable, safe, clean and serene experience. The condo has everything you need to cook a full-on meal, prepare smoothies/drinks, or make an espresso. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept very well during our vacation. I would definitely return to Coral 2 in the future and would recommend the unit to friends and family.
Coral 2 is located in the prestigious Punta Esmeralda resort. The resort is located approximately 20 minutes north of the Puerto Vallarta airport. A short ride to the south is the cityscape of Puerto Vallarta with it's night life, tourist attractions and culture.
Fifteen minutes to the north is a completely different experience. Sayulita is a lovely, quaint Mexican village seemingly lost in time. Cobblestone streets, small stores and surf shops situated around an old time town square. The beach is broad and deep. There is both a left and right hand surf break. A stones throw from the villa is the wonderful little town of Bucerias. It offers an opportunity to shop for authentic mexican handicrafts. There are several high end restaurants and great beach shacks to satisfy your culinary desires.
The new deep water marina in Las Cruz is ten minutes away. The Polo matches in San Francisco are thirty minutes away. They shouldn't be missed.

Why michael jacks chose Bucerías
After visiting PV for decades we decided that it was time to find something to call a second home. It was love at first sight. We bought it the day that we first saw it.
What makes this Condo unique
Peace of mind due to the high level of security The joy of waking up to such a beautiful view The joy of relative seclusion from the madness of crowds Surprised by the number of extremely high quality restaurants within a twenty minute drive
