This spacious recently remodeled 3-story cabin style townhome offers 3 bedrooms. There are 2 downstairs and one loft-style bedroom on the top floor. The master offers a king size bed with lovely views of the surrounding woods and occasional grazing dear. The other two bedrooms both offer comfortable Queen sized beds. Just of the back you will find a scenic private deck with BBQ & outdoor table and chairs! Sleeps six guests comfortably.

About Dynie Sanderson

My husband Dana and I have 5 daughters and we have been coming to Whitefish for the past 14 years. Four of our daughters loved it so much they ended up living Montana, two in Whitefish and they all love the Montana mountain resort lifestyle. Our main home is in the Napa Valley where we enjoy the beauty of California's Wine Country. We are so fortunate to live in two of the most beautiful places on the the planet - Whitefish, Montana being one of the most special.

We were traveling to Yellowstone and Glacier one summer with a few of our daughters and stumbled upon the charming alpine community of Whitefish, Montana. We loved everything about it and found many people from Northern California that we knew had also discovered this unique mountain community. We immediately started looking for a property and found Ptarmigan Village. There is no place like this anywhere. We became so much a part of it that I even became a board member for Ptarmigan Village.

"We came to visit my sister who has this wonderful cabin in Whitefish, Montana. What a great location. Perfect mountain get-a-way for us Floridians. It was so cozy and we loved being right across from the new pool facility and outdoor spa. The hiking trails throughout Ptarmigan Village are great. The cabin was really spacious and had everything you could imagine. Can't wait to come back in Ski season and be in the winter wonderland."

All the amenities you could wish for in a vacation rental. Completely appointed with all of the comforts of home. Two televisions, one in the great room and one in the master bedroom. Cable TV with premium movie channels, wireless internet, DVD / VCR players, CD/Radio, a kitchen equipped for all your gourmet preparations. Firewood for the hearth in the fireplace just steps away from the door. One of the few Ptarmigan cabin/condos with in-unit washer and dryer. New this winter is the large outdoor hot-tub and remodeled indoor pool area. This “Blacktail” cabin is one of the most convenient to these new facilities, just steps away.

Very nice peaceful location.

We really liked the location of the townhome, quick 5 min drive to the ski hill and 10min drive to town. Loved the peacefulness of the prarmigan village. This townhome is really well located in the prarmigan village being a quick walk to the pool and hot tub building which we used every day during our stay.

Drawbacks were the tight spiral staircase, without socks on the rug was quite slippery and both my husband and I took tumbles down the staircase from the loft to use the washroom at night. We stayed with my husbands parents and our 8 month old and 2.5 year old. The staircases are definitely not ideal for older people or children but we expected this going in and our parents were fine in the master bedroom downstairs as there is a bathroom down there. The baby Gates were nice to have to block off the stairs. Cabin is very well stocked with anything you could need.

The smoke from the fires and the closure of trails and the Going to the Sun road had a negative impact on or trip. But, the Condo was very nice

Owner's Response: I am so sorry about the Smokey weather. It is unfortunate that Glacier National Park had so many fires this year. I wish we could flip a switch and make the fires go away. I hope at least you enjoyed your stay in our vacation home.

Clean and homey

We stayed here for 6 days in early Sept. The place was clean and homey. It was just two of us, but I decided to book a condo versus a hotel because we wanted to be able to cook some meals at "home".

Everything was as it was described and the information we received before our trip about the rental was clear and easy to follow.

As we shopped for our week, we had a few questions about what was already at the condo, so we called the owner she was very helpful.

The hot tub was literally steps away from the condo, and we did enjoy that one day after a tough hike at GNP.

We really feel in love with the town of Whitefish. Great people, great restaurants. We are already talking about our next trip back.

Glacier Natl Park Vacation

The condo was awesome. There were 6 people in our party, and we were all comfortable.

Our first morning there drinking coffee on the deck, two whitetail deer went strolling thru the yard. The kitchen is better stocked than my home kitchen. There are plenty of pots pans and dishes. The beds were extremely comfortable.

We had a small problem with beach towels, when I called Dynie she took care of it right away, I could not ask for more.

Getting there:

* Glacier International Airport (FCA - Delta, Northwest, Alaska, and Horizon) is 20 minutes away and Amtrak goes right into Whitefish.

* For driving, take Interstate 90 until you are eight miles west of Missoula. Take US Highway 93 north towards Kalispell and Whitefish, 120 miles. In Whitefish turn RIGHT (North) onto Baker Avenue, City Hall will be on your right. Head (North) over the viaduct, go straight onto Wisconsin Avenue through the lights. Three miles ahead, turn RIGHT (North) onto Big Mountain Road. Five miles up you will see the turn-off for Ptarmigan Village.

Other Activities: Cabin is located steps away from the new indoor pool and outdoor spa.
