About Tiffany Burbidge

I am the daughter of the owner and manage the property. My father built the home and I have been traveling there for 22 years multiple times a year. I love Kauai and Moloaa is a peace of heaven for me. Woodrose Plantation has become a part of my family. I have 5 children and have been married for 26 years. We vacation here every summer for a month or more. This is truly a home away from home.

Tiffany Burbidge purchased this estate in 1995

Why Tiffany Burbidge chose Anahola

The very private location situated on high ground above the flood and tsunami zones yet close to the bay was paramount. Large beautifully landscaped property with many fruit trees for our use combined with rare and beautiful Plantation Architecture and modern amenities yet green and clean is rare. Proximity to beach and ocean yet enough distance to be safe for families with small children is also hard to find. Sufficient distance from noisy pounding surf in winter yet close enough to feel fresh breezes and hear ocean music requires the perfect distance to beach. Privacy of this Beach makes it safer and devoid of crowds with trees for shade when we've had enough sun.

What makes this estate unique

Moloaa is unique in that it is located in a banana belt and when it is raining in Princeville it is often still sunny in our little bay. We are in a semi-private bay and there is not much parking which makes it less crowded. We have many fruits and a great road to run or bike or walk up to the fruit stand. You can pick wild strawberry guava and passion fruit on your way. Moloaa is truly unlike any other place I have been and if you like to be away from the business of life this is a wonderful place to come.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We can't imagine ever staying anywhere else. Your home made our family visit to Kauai one we will all remember forever. It's hard to coordinate schedules to plan a vacation and ours was once in a life time. Thank you for sharing your home with us. It is breathtaking!

We traveled the entire island, and came home to peace and beauty every night. Thanks again!! Hopefully we'll be back next year.

Wonderful house!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for a great stay at your beautiful jungle house in Moloa'a Bay! We had a fantastic time with our daughter, husband and grand-daughters. The house is quite modern, with plenty of room for a big group, a comfortable family/living room for socializing, and a great kitchen for staging meals - whether you eat inside or out. We loved the bay, with its private beach (we saw 2 endangered monk seals pull up on the beach there - very cool!) and protected side of the bay for swimming with children. You can pick the fruit from the trees in the yard (as it is in season) - and for us, we enjoyed lemons, oranges and even a few avocados. We really couldn't have made a better choice for our family. Thank you again - it really made for a great trip! We would highly recommend this house to others!

My family loved it!

  • 5 of 5

I live on Kauai and I was looking for a place where my brother his wife and 5 kids could stay. I wanted something where they could safely walk to the beach and be comfortable! This was the perfect home for them! The grounds were beautiful and it felt like old Hawaii! Thank you! They had a wonderful time there, and I loved seeing how much fun they were having! Aloha!

Great, spacious house in a fairly quiet residential neighborhood.

  • 5 of 5

Great location and amenities in this North Shore location. Even though located in a residential space, had easy access to nearby Kapa'a and Hanalei areas. Only partial disappointment was some of the outdated/tired kitchen items and the lack of fruit unavailable on the property, considering this is a selling point in your advertising. There was tons of fruit and trees on the property but sadly everything was green. Perhaps some info on in season for these items or even a prepicked bowl in advance of a guests arrival would be our only nice to have suggestion. But otherwise our stay was amazing and relaxing. We would definitely consider staying again. In fact interested in knowing if you have a monthly rate vs. a weekly rate.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. I love your suggestions! I will add them to the site. Lots of the fruit that is "green but soft" such as the lemon tree outside the kitchen window are actually ripe lemons. They don't need to turn yellow. I will add this to our site so tenants know. We do have a monthly rate depending on what month it is. Its usually 10% less. Thank you for staying at Woodrose we hope to be able to accommodate you in the future. Avocados are usually on in Oct and February ish Mangoes July-Aug . Citrus in the summer and winter. Bananas all year, papaya all year. These are some ideas however, they can come on late or early depending on winter season, rainfall etc.

Great Getaway for Our Family

  • 4 of 5

We had a large group to accommodate and this house fit the bill. Great location and close to a beach where we all could enjoy the sun, sand and surf. The property is beautiful and having access to fresh fruit was really a treat. Plenty of room for all of us to stretch out and "be". The property is also close to Kapaa and to points North like Hanalei, Princeville and north end beaches. Plenty of towels and linens were provided. Truly a wonderful place at a fair and reasonable price!

The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the need for some maintenance to the home. Ceiling fans in living room were not working on all speeds (hard to get the air moving without them), standing fans (which we needed) did not all work, we had a cockroach problem while there and that made a few of us uncomfortable and it would be helpful if the utility knifes were either sharpened or replaced. Additionally we ran out of toilet paper so would be helpful to stock this supply.

We would recommend this house to others for sure! Would like to see some of the issues taken care of before we do however.

Thanks for sharing your lovely home!

Owner's Response: Thank you for letting us know a few items to update. I will purchase some knew fans and knives asap! We do our best to keep the items working and appreciate specifics. We are located in the "jungle of Kauai" and with the benefits of privacy, birds and ocean waves also come a few critters. With that said, we have a pest control that sprays and upon hearing you've seen these critters I will call the pest company to respray. We are happy you enjoyed our home And the beauty of Moloaa and hope to be able to accommodate you in the future.

Stepping into another world of lush surroundings and roosters crowing!

  • 5 of 5

Woodrose Plantation was a pleasure to visit and call home while on our vacation. Our family of 6 plus 18 month grandson had room to spare without feeling on top of each other. Beds were comfy, kitchen well stocked, towels, both bathing and beach galore, and a yard large enough to play football when not exploring the beach just steps down a quite road. We had gecko's and roosters and birds singing to wake with, plus a friendly feral cat, who we named "Mona." The property is surrounded by fruit and coconut trees of all kinds.

We also had the pleasure of meeting some neighbors who didn't treat us as "tourists" but were helpful in many ways, just plain "good folk!"

Kauai is a amazing island with many many beaches and trails to explore and the Plantation is perfectly located to go from end to end coming home to peacefulness. But if you never leave the property while on vacation and spend your time taking in the surrounding and happily rocking on the porch reading a book you will be content, happy and planning your next visit to Woodrose Plantation on Moloaa Bay.

What a pleasure

  • 5 of 5

After reviewing many properties on Kauai that would accommodate our two families we decided on this property. You always wonder if the reality will live up to the descriptions and reviews, and it's my pleasure to say that in this case it surely did.

The house was in good condition, with plenty of rooms (more than enough space) for our group of 7. It was nice that we never felt crowded or right on top of each other. The rooms were nice and there were plenty of ceiling fans to help keep cool. The yard was as described, a regular fruit fest to be sure. That was one of the best oranges I can ever remember having! The avocados were amazing as well. They were huge and in no short supply (to the apparent pleasure of a local cat that I found eating an avocado one day.)

The location is not only nicely located within a nice 5 minute walk to the lovely Moloaa Bay, it's also nicely located on the island. Close to Kilauea, Princeville and Kapaa, and not that far from Hanalei as well. Of course, on Kauai, you're not really that far from anyplace :) The road the house is on connects directly to the beach and gets very little traffic so walking to the beach is not a worry for kids. Also a bonus is the limited parking at the beach as it keeps the amount of people on the beach low.

It's a lovely beach to walk on and there are sections that were quite good for swimming for even younger children. Some areas have rougher surf and more coral/rocks and are not suitable for swimming. We did some snorkeling here as well and saw many lovely fish and even an octopus.

Both families really felt this house made the stay better than it would have been in any hotel or resort. Both my wife and I would have no reservations about staying here again.
