About jennifer poarch
"Rocky Meadows" has been in my fathers family since around 1929. I now rent out my fathers cottage "A Cottage by the Pond" along with my own "Rocky Meadows Cottage" to help pay for his medical care. My fathers' great aunt Minerva Walker Goldsmith "Aunt Bea" purchased Rocky Meadows around 1929 in order to spend summers away from the heat of Palm Beach. Aunt Bea was known for her modernist watercolor landscape paintings. She developed a love for the mountains and sold property to her friends, one being Phillip Moose, and established Artist Alley. My father built this cabin with very little assistance in 2006. It took him 2 years to complete.
jennifer poarch purchased this Cottage in 1973

We spent a relaxing long weekend here and, honestly, did nothing, but it was exactly what we needed. The cottage is welcoming and cozy. It had everything we needed. We brought our dogs and they loved exploring the property. They desperately wanted to swim in the pond but it was too cold while we were here. Next time!! We love the Cottage by the Pond and would love to come back one day.
if you want a peaceful place, with outdoor space for your children, or in my case my dog plays freely this is the place. A retreat from a busy life in the city. Close to the city but at the same time hidden in nature. Have a coffee looking at the lake and recharge your batteries with the mountain breeze. Simple and perfect. We will be back soon for sure
Fantastic get away
This is likely to be one of if not the best cabin we have stayed in. Perfect location close to town but far enough to be away from the "busy". Well provisioned kitchen, nice linens, exceptional view. The pond and the property are really relaxing. Will definitely go back if we have the opportunity. Owners are very kind and responsive.
We really enjoyed our weekend get away.
The cabin very nice and secluded we are most differently planning another stay..
We live in Knoxville and were looking for a quiet little place to celebrate our 38th anniversary. We have been coming to this area for more than 20 years - mostly in April - and when I saw the listing it looked absolutely perfect! We were not disappointed!! It was truly everything we had hoped it would be, from the initial communication with Dennis and Jennifer to check out 😔. The privacy and amenities of the property, the close proximity to Blowing Rock with our favorite shops and restaurants, the amazing sunny fall weather, all just right. Without a doubt we will be returning. Next time, though, maybe late spring/early summer or earlier in the fall so we can get out on that paddle boat and do a little fishin’! Loved the place! Loved our stay!
Thank you. We are so glad you enjoyed stay. It was a beautiful weekend. We look forward to seeing you in the spring. Dennis and Jennifer
