Here is the layout of the house: 4 Bedrooms – all 4 ensuite, each with its own private bathroom. The master suite has a King size canopy bed and a beautiful bathroom with an ofuro (a Japanese soak tub.) The other three bedrooms all contain Queen size beds, each with a distinctive style and beauty of their own. The living room, which is very large, contains a comfy sitting area grouped around the lava rock fireplace. There are many Japanese decorations, including antiques. The floors are eucalyptus wood with oriental area rugs to compliment the furnishings. The gourmet kitchen is a dream. The kitchen comes fully equipped and stocked. All you need to do is bring your own fresh foods and beverages. Completing the layout is the TV/media room adjacent to the living room. This room also has a wet bar. Just outside is a screened-in lanai where you can sit and listen to the waterfalls below. A fifth half bath is provided, as well as a laundry room with washer and dryer. From every room, you view the towering palm trees, the lush flowers and the abundant tropical vegetation. The home is on one level.

We met in Hawaii, fell in love in Hawaii....and the rest is history. Now we get to share our good fortune with guests from around the world.
Why Sara/Jamie chose Hilo
We are happy to have a wonderful home in Hawaii, and we love the Big Island, its many sights and its friendly people. Hilo gives one the chance to get a feel of the 'real Hawaii.' The Farmers' Market in town is a riot of color from the many exotic fruits and flowers. There's just a special feeling one comes away with after exploring this unique area.

There was no hot water. Water is solar heated and it was overcast during our stay so there was no hot water. Contacted owner who advised us to contact maintenance person. Maintenance person said that master bedroom water was heated by propane but it didn't have hot water. We ended up taking cold showers for 3 days. Property was also very damp and mildewy. Also found several cockcroaches in bedrooms. On plus side property was very spacious. DownTown area is about 5 minutes away by car but not that esay to walk. Pond area is very difficult to reach. Wouldn't recommend swimming as weeds can get caught up ( we swam there). Also got rash from contact with waterplants.
Beautiful Home. We loved the amenities and sounds of nature. Area and private waterfall lovely.
Our family loved our stay at this lovely property. It had amazing scenery and was at a great location. There were fascinating creatures and a beautiful private waterfall, which was crystal clear. The inside was phenomenal, with nice decorations and furnishings. The house was SPOTLESS, with private bathrooms, which were very handy and pleasant. The only issue we had was no warm water due to solar water heater during rainy days and low propane.
The amenities were great with wi-fi, office equipment, luxurious linens, well stocked kitchen with up to date appliances, washer/ dryer and anything a family may need for the perfect vacation.
it was good
still trying to find the "private pool" that was listed
Ok but needs thorough cleaning.
The place could have been nicer if:1) needed a good cleaning. 2) bedding should be upgraded. 3) Parking very difficult. We enjoyed the privacy. The waterfall is inaccessible. This should be explained as it is advertised as being as being part of the visual paradise.
Our Hilo stay was our favorite. I can't begin to say enough about this property. The entire house is gorgeous inside and out. They have set this house up with everything you could possibly need. When coming to the house , only bring clothes. Trust me you won't need anything else. The design and decor is amazing. Being in the jungle in such a beautiful house is memorizing. The sounds of the jungle are so peaceful. The waterfalls are to die for. The best house and location I've ever stayed in. Can't wait to come back. Thank you very much for such an amazing experience. If I ever moved to Hawaii this is a house I'd want.
Overall, my family had a great experience at this home. Very spacious and many areas to hang out in. The area was so nice and quiet. The neighbors were so friendly and helped us find the property. The kitchen did have dishes and utensils. They did have pots and pans but a lot of them were scratched and felt a little unhealthy/unsafe to use. We ended up buying our own pan. There was one halfway used paper towel that we used up and couldn't find another one to replace with. This is our first experience with HomeAway, so we weren't sure if this is "normal." There was plenty of toilet paper and generous amount of laundry detergent. The home provides "basic soaps," which means that no shampoo was provided. Again, not sure if this is something that is typical of HomeAway, but just to let future guests know to bring or buy on their way in. We went down to the waterfall that is right outside the door. It is a little bit of a steep hike down and I think this is when we all got bitten by mosquitoes. I imagined this to be swimmable, and I think it is supposed to be, but it doesn't look like it should be swam in. It is more of a pond... Also, no area to sit or put things down. Another thing that I did not know of Hilo homes (or maybe all island homes?) is that the house is entirely open. The windows are all basically open with screens. There are these plantation shutter type things on the outside that you can "close" but there is no seal. We traveled with an infant and elderly who are used to climate control, so again, this is just to let future guests know in case they want to pack an extra blanket if they get cold. Also, there are geckos that enter the home and wander around. We saw previous notes of dead cockroaches randomly found and we also witnessed that. The house is well kept by all means, I think it is from the fact that this home is built in a rainforest. Just again, warning. We were overall pleased and did not have any regrets booking this home. Would recommend to others.
