This architecturally sophisticated villa from the 30’s impresses with its spacious design and offers plenty of space on 280m² of living area for 6-8 persons. There are totally four bedrooms available. They are all air-conditioned and have a private bathroom. One of the bedrooms is located in the apartment on the attic floor, which can be reached by an external staircase. The elegant, fully equipped kitchen satisfying even higher demands adjoins the spacious dining room. A spiral staircase leads to the approximately 70m² large living room with fireplace. Several patios with a fascinating sea view also emphasises the spaciousness of the house. The 1800m² large plot is not visible from the outside and has beautiful old trees. The garden has a quiet corner to relax or read. The large swimming pool is the centre of this very well-kept outdoor space.

Even the nearby Cala Deia is ideal for swimming.

The picturesque mountain village Dejà (Deia) in the Serra Tramuntana, situated high above the sea between Valldemossa and Sóller, is one of the most beautiful villages in the west coast. Villa Can Gil is on the outskirts of Dejà, 5 minutes walk from the town centre, where there are small tapas bars, two small cosy restaurants with fantastic view of the sea, galleries and cosy spots hidden in small alleys with view of green and silver shimmering olive tree terraces.

A lovely and relaxing place to stay

This is an absolutely lovely property - the photos looks almost too good to be true but they are entirely accurate :)

We occupied the entire house (4 bedrooms), which includes an apartment on the top floor and a garden room which whilst in the main building is only accessible from an external door located adjacent to the kitchen door. All the rooms were lovely, well maintained, clean and all had their own en-suite bathrooms.

The house is very spacious with multiple outdoor seating areas and extensive indoor seating areas. The kitchen is well stocked with all you need to cook and eat.

The pool was lovely, and was maintained every few days by somebody who also watered the garden.

During our stay the dishwasher failed, when we contacted the owner he rapidly arranged for a repairer to call and all was sorted very quickly - excellent customer service.

Deia itself is a lovely destination, and is a leisurely 10 mins stroll away. There are many restaurants there, and a small supermarket. 15 minutes stroll in the other direction (although very much down a hill) is Cala Deia which offers a rocky beach with a restaurant and a bar overlooking the sea.

This villa is ideal for a family holiday. Our group comprised my wife and myself, our son and his wife, and our daughter and her boyfriend. There was enough space for everybody to get time-out when they wanted to be alone, as well as great communal space for us to get together when we wanted. We would not hesitate to stay at this villa again and would highly recommend it.

Great vacation

We traveled as two Swedish families with teenager kids and this place was perfect if you like a lazy/relaxing vacation. The house had everything you need (well equipped) and Air con in the bedrooms was great. The house is so large that you almost need internal telephones and you can always find a private area if you need, Pool is great and were taken care of twice a week by the local serviceman who was graet. It is warm, not cold like someone else wrote.

It is close to Deia "town" and you can easy walk there in 10 min and its not "hilly" at all into Deia, to the local rest down the hill (dont park your car wrong here=90 e) you will of cource get breathless (15 min walk), but they are closing early in the night so better is to walk into "town" and eat at night. Its starts around 8 in the eavning and if you are 8 or more in your party, you might need too make a reservation.

For shopping you need to go to Soller, there is a Eroski where you can shop grocery (15 min on serpentine roads) or 25 min outside Palma: Carrefour. There are shops i Deia and Valldemossa also, but small shops.

We can recommend the house and the only thing that was unplesant was some problems with ants both inside (kitchen and bedrooms!) and outside the house. This is probably usual problems, becouse they had put out a effective spray to use.

Also so happy to discover that they have free Wifi for guests!! (Works best in the upper apartement)

Even if theres a busstop 100 m from your door you will nedd a rental car.

There are also perfect hiking paths just outside the door, yes a bit hilly, but you will need it after all good wine and Tapas! Enjoy Can Gil!

review villa ca'n gil

We recently enjoyed a weeks holiday at Villa Ca'n Gil, we were a large family group including a child and baby, celebrating my parents' 40th wedding anniversary.

The location is fantastic - just on the edge of Deia, easy walking distance to the village, shop, and restaurants. Although a pleasant walk it was further than we thought down to Cala Deia, and a hot steep walk back uphill!

On arrival we were met by a young man who handed over the keys and showed us round briefly. The villa is well equipped for a large group with a number of different areas to sit in and escape. A microwave in the main kitchen would be helpful, and the BBQ was in horrible condition! The villa was generally clean and well maintained, the bedrooms were comfortable apart from elasticated towelling sheets which were hot and itchy.

The description of the bedrooms was slightly inaccurate - with both the upstairs apartment and one other bedroom only being accessible from outside, so not really suitable rooms for children, or those needing to access children in bedrooms inside the main part of the house.

The outside space was really nice, and we enjoyed the pool despite it being freezing all week!

The whole area is beautiful and Deia is an excellent base for exploring. We particularly liked Valledemossa, and the train trip from Soller to Palma is worth doing, especially for train-mad 4 year olds!

We would recommend both Restaurant Deia and Jaume in Deia for really good food - moderately priced but really friendly service and lovely terraces.

Overall i would recommend a visit to Villa Ca'n Gil, and the lovely Traumantana area.

Entspannung pur......

Wir haben mit 6 Personen einen sehr entspannten, und erholsamen Urlaub in dieser schönen Finca erlebt. Wie schon so oft beschrieben bietet die Villa C'an Gil zahlreiche Rückzugsmöglichkeiten. Die Poolanlage ist sehr großzügig angelegt und mit den 3 Terrassen bestehen genügend Möglickeiten seine Mahlzeiten draußen einzunehmen. Deija ist tagsüber mit Tagestouristen sehr lebhaft, Abends hat dieser Ort einen ganz besonderes Flair. Die zahlreichen kleinen und guten Restaurants sind zu Fuß sehr gut erreichbar. Vor Ort wurden wir gut von Fernando betreut. Wir kommen ganz bestimmt wieder!

Jedem seinen eigenen Platz

Für uns Wanderer , "Draußenmenschen" und Familie ein individuelles, weitläufiges und sauberes Plätzchen. Durch die Aufteilung des Hauses konnte jeder immer wieder neue Plätze zum Lesen , entspannen, spielen und faulenzen finden. Es war einfach nur schön gemeinsam in der großen Küche zu kochen und draußen oder drinnen zu essen. Vom Haus aus ist Deia zu Fuß schnell zu erreichen und lädt ein auch mal die Küche kalt zu lassen und morgens frisches Brot zu kaufen. Vom Haus aus loswandern , am Pool zu "abzuhängen" aber auch schnell an den eher touristischen Orten Soller und Valdemossa sein macht die Lage dieses Haus für uns sehr attraktiv. Wir planen schon auch mal mit 4 Paaren zu kommen. Dank für die gute Betreuung und den netten fast philosophischen E-Mail Kontakt mit unserem Vermieter. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder!

Herbsturlaub in Deià

Silke und Freunde,

wir verbrachten sommerliche zwei Wochen in diesem schönen Haus mit Pool. Die Villa bietet viele Aufenthaltsmöglichkeiten auch bei nicht so gutem Wetter. Sie ist sehr persönlich eingerichtet. Draußen hat man ebenfalls viele Optionen sich einen schönen Platz zu suchen. Besonders von der oberen Terrasse kann man einen wunderschönen Blick auf die Cala Deià genießen. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Von dem Vermieter im Vorwege und dem Ansprechpartner vor Ort wurden wir gut betreut. Wir kommen gern einmal wieder und würden dieses Domizil auch weiterempfehlen. In Deià kann man auch gut essen gehen: Sa Vinya und die Trattoria sind empfehlenswert und preislich angemessen. Wer sich etwas Besonderes gönnen möchte, dem empfehle ich einen Besuch im Restaurant El Olivo. das Essen ist sehr gut, hat aber auch seinen Preis.

Von Deià aus lassen kann man seine Wanderungen starten. Es gibt viele Wege. Man sollte allerdings eine Wegbeschreibung bei sich führen.
