Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday estate in Palmetto - Casa Encantada

Private 3 Bedroom Home/Sofa Bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8) On 200' Of Open Water

Spend your vacation at a spacious, beautiful, pet friendly home on 200 ft. of tropically landscaped open waterfront. There is so much to do at Casa Encantada that some guests choose to never leave. Fishing, kayaking, biking, swimming, sunbathing...do all of it or simply relax to music that can be heard via the speakers throughout the house. Choose the Boater's Package option for exclusive, unlimited daytime use of Slow Dancer, Casa Encantada's 22 ft pontoon boat. Slow Dancer is great for trips to local waterfront bars and restaurants, nearby beaches, islands, fishing spots and uninhabited coves. In the town of Palmetto, a virtually undiscovered "old Florida" historic town, the locals are warm and friendly. Casa Encantada is gated and fenced, with the exception of the waterfront, for your privacy. There is a totally fenced and tropically landscaped area near the herb garden just for your dogs, complete with a warm water shower...also with a waterfront view. The tropical lagoon pool has a beach entry, waterfall, baja ledge and swim up cocktail table with relaxing jets. You'll enjoy sunbathing on the spacious pool deck, relaxing in a hammock or sitting under the fan in the shade of your own private tiki hut. The tiki hut's bar is cleverly designed from an old ship's rudder.

Facing due West on secluded Hooker Bay, just 5 minutes by boat to Tampa Bay, the sunsets are unsurpassed and are a daily main event. The waterfront deck under the huge banyan tree is perfect for watching the sunset, dolphins and manatees. Every evening, thousands of birds fly by at the first hint of dusk, heading home to Emerson Point, a bird sanctuary just 2 miles north. Great blue herons, spoonbill rosettes, sea gulls, cormorants, night herons, skimmers, ospreys, egrets, pelicans often stop by for a snack of bait fish right on your beach, just feet away. Hookers Bay is known as the best fishing spot between the Manatee River and Tampa Bay. Snook, redfish, trout, flounder, mangrove snapper, even tarpon are plentiful. Your 'front yard' is a legally protected manatee feeding area. You can wade or kayak out and watch from as close as a few feet away. Or you can see them from shore as they come up for air. And don't forget to keep the tradition of ringing the bell at the last glimpse of the setting sun.

The home is large with an amazing cook's kitchen with two refrigerators, granite counter tops and three sinks. The family room, kitchen and wet bar are all in one open room with expansive views of the water, wildlife and sunsets. The dining room seats 12 overlooking Hooker Bay.. Open the doors for true waterfront dining. The adjacent living room has a working wood burning fireplace and water view. There are three large, comfortable bedrooms, all with water views and flat screen TV's. The first master is large with a king size bed and a view of Hooker Bay.. The bath has a walk in shower. All linens are top quality. It has a large dresser, dressing table and walk in closet. The second master also has a king bed, walk in closet and view of Hooker Bay and the lagoon pool. It shares a bath with a tub and shower with the third bedroom, which has over sized twin beds, large closet and a view of the lagoon pool. This entire end of the house can be closed off with a pocket door creating a private suite. This feature makes Casa Encantada the perfect home for 2 or 3 couples. There are no stairs - one story only.

Nearby Casa Encantada are numerous state parks, golf courses, beaches and fine dining.

This home is easy to reach with reasonably priced flights from just about anywhere to Sarasota or Tampa. As cliché as it sounds, this is truly paradise in your own private waterfront home! Discover the 'real' Florida!

About Julie Ellis/Captain Julie at 404 277 4487 or Captjulie100@gmail.com

I grew up on the panhandle of Florida where I learned to love salt water and the lifestyle if offers. After moving to Atlanta, where I lived for 30 years, we bought a house in Panama City where we spent a lot of time. In 2008 we moved to the central gulf coast to get back to the old Florida lifestyle. We found Palmetto and Bradenton like going back in time... Florida the way it was in the 60's.

Julie Ellis/Captain Julie at 404 277 4487 or Captjulie100@gmail.com purchased this estate in 2008

Why Julie Ellis/Captain Julie at 404 277 4487 or Captjulie100@gmail.com chose Florida South Central Gulf Coast

We are pet friendly. We offer a 22ft. boat. We are in a small, friendly town that is not on the tourist map. This home is unique. There are not many places you can visit that are on 200 feet of open water and the home to manatees, dolphin and every kind of seabird you can name. Unlike most rentals in the area you have a lot of private space. No neighbors in your space, just solitude in a rich tropical environment. No sharing the pool or beach. If you want to be around others just jump in the car and arrive at Anna Maria in minutes.

What makes this estate unique

22ft. San Pan pontoon boat. Pet friendly. Private, secluded on 200 feet of open water. There are a lot of local water front restaurants. Your only problem when staying at Casa Encantada is dragging yourself outside of its gated grounds because there is so much to do and see within its gates. Captain Julie provides a kayak, bikes, fishing rods and reels, a hammock under the enormous banyan tree, and snorkel equipment. When staying at Casa Encantada, you share only with dolphins, manatee, herons, egrets, spoonbill rosettes, pelicans, sea gulls, and ospreys! Flounders, red fish, and snook also arrive via your fish hook! If you do leave Casa Encantada, visit all the area has to offer from beachside restaurants to parks and beach entertainment spots. Casa Encantada has everything you need to make this your most wonderful beach vacation ever!

Perfect House for Us!

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at Casa Encantada and had the best time. This house suited us perfectly. Being able to walk out the back door and fish was such a plus. We also rented the pontoon and this was used each day. My family wanted to fish so the guys would go fish each day and my friend and I would lounge in the gorgeous pool area. The pool area was perfection. Absolutely gorgeous. We would definitely stay here again. It is all Captain Julie says and more :)

Like visiting an old Friend

  • 5 of 5

Friends and I spent the week of the fourth of July at Casa and fantastic experience. It was like visiting an Old Friend. Casa is a funky whimsical old school beach house filled with thoughtful touches from top to bottom. Most rentals are bare bones but not Casa. Capt. Julie has thought of everything from books, fishing supplies, kayaks, ping pong, floats, bikes, board games, well stocked kitchen and even robes!! You feel the love in every room. The grounds around Casa are their own Botanical Gardens - Lush and exotic. And so much Nature: manatees, dolphins, tons of birds. Nicely secluded but conveniently located. Don't miss the sunsets!!! They are to die for!

Love, love, love Casa. Can't wait to visit again! Thanks Capt. Julie. Cheers from Charleston!

Great home for those wanting EVERYTHING! STOP THE SEARCH and book your vacation here today!

  • 5 of 5

Been home less than 24 hours from this property and we are ready to return. Julie is an amazing host that's "Johnny on the spot" if you need anything at all! I called her the second day I was there and she had trash bags personally delivered to meet our needs! The pool is amazing out back of the house. There are bugs, but hey, THIS IS FLORIDA! The beaches are just a short 20-30 minute drive from the house. Anna Maria was our favorite but parking is horrendous. Bradenton Beach is just as nice and much less crowded. We rented the pontoon boat and what a BLAST! If you rent the house, GET THE BOAT! It was my wife, myself and four high school kiddos! Never a single complaint or an, "I'm bored" all week. Heck, I even confiscated their phones upon arrival, so this was a true ("pokemon free") vacation. I would recommend this home without hesitation. I'd suggest eating at the house because the kitchen is incredible! Food in town is average at best. Even those with great Yelp and Trip Advisor reviews were below average. So, if you are thinking the food in town is gonna be spectactular, save you money. You'll be happier eating in and making it a family affair. Sending our love to Captain Julie! See you next year...

Best vacation rental

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 plus my parents stayed here during Spring Break 2016 and had the best experience. We didn't want to leave! Even our dog had an absolute blast exploring this gorgeous property! The pool, boating, sunsets and the kitchen was just the beginning! We would defiantly stay here again!

Absolutely wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, children (ages 10, 7 and 7) and I could not have imagined a more relaxing week than we enjoyed at Casa. We usually head to Disney over Spring Break, but this year decided we would prefer a slower pace. We certainly do not regret that decision, or the decision to stay in this amazing home. From the moment we pulled in the gated entrance and stood at the front door, we were in awe of the views of the water from nearly every room. So private, so serene, so relaxing. The pool was a dream for the kids, as was the grassy area bordering the river where they ran and played, saw wildlife (dolphins, manatees, even a bald eagle), and even had an egg hunt on Easter. We loved all of the outdoor furniture (especially the high Adirondack chair that offered sweeping views of the river) and the hammock. The sunsets were indescribable. We drove to Siesta Key one day and Anna Maria a couple of times, but the time we relished most was the unhurried time we spent at the house swimming in the pool, relaxing by the water and enjoying the time away from the hustle and bustle. The kitchen was massive and there was plenty of seating for meals and relaxing. The bedrooms were tastefully and thoughtfully decorated. And Julie was very responsive during the reservation process, pre-arrival, and throughout our stay. We would not hesitate to rent this beautiful, unique property again and cannot wait to return!

Serenity Now ~ Part 5

  • 5 of 5

My first visit to Casa Encantada was in 2011. I have returned once a year since then. I wouldn’t have thought Captain Julie could have improved on the perfection I experienced on that first visit, but somehow she has managed to. There is so much attention to detail, both inside and outside. It really draws you into that old Florida, laid back, relaxed vibe.

The home is both beautifully and comfortably decorated. The kitchen is amazing and is fully equipped. The outdoor cooking area is pretty incredible, too. When you walk outside, you feel like you’re entering another world ~ your own tropical paradise. The pool and Tiki bar are fantastic! You will want to spend all of your time there, but I would recommend that you include the boaters’ package, because there is so much to see and do on the water.

I said it after my first vacation here in 2011, and I’ll have to say it again ~ As I stood looking out over the water, whether I was watching manatees and dolphins or watching beautiful sunsets, I couldn’t help but think that I had “reached out my hand and touched the face of God.”
