You would find it difficult to find an apartment in Looe with a better view! Our apartment is rather small (about 50msq), but has everything you might need. And you will find many english books and DVDs should you have a rainy day. You will find many tourist-guides, maps and a folder with information on beaches, restaurants and pubs.

Just 100 meters uphill the Hannafore Point Hotel offers you for a small charge the use of the indoor heated pool ,sauna and fitness room.

The apartments own parking is an asset in the high season.

Please buy guide books. There are too frequent to see, that one could perform it here. But you will receive from me 8 Info-letters with advice for excursions near and far (about 50 pages). Cornwall is 'Pilcher country'. Furthermore, many other writers have settled their action places here that you can find good. Mention may be made only Pilcher, Daphne du Maurier, Hammond Innes and ..... An indication of your home address is desired.

Wonderful view of Looe bay.

The property was very clean and well laid out. The kitchen had everything that one could possible need. The Beds were very comfortable, all in all very cosy. We were warned about the steps... Yes you need to be fit, my wife and I are relatively fit but still found them quite strenuous. We hired a car and during our two week stay used it only twice to visit Liskeard and the Eden Project. We got a parking fine of 25 pounds in Liskeard; I bought a parking ticket for 4 pounds just to make sure were covered but unfortunately it fell from the dash on to the seat, I could see it from outside the car.... ....Pity the parking attendant didn't . We were warned from the owner about this and heard from a few of the locals about their plight with the private Parking firms. I paid the fine at the post office in looe and the very nice lady there was more upset than I.

Still I didn't let that spoil the holiday we spent lovely days down in Looe centre and on the Bay. We ate in the Pubs and had some lovely meals in the restaurants. The people of Looe are very friendly and we enjoyed our stay. We took the number 72 bus which stops just around the corner at the Point and traveled to Plymouth, it's a bit of a journey and took over an hour and a half, The bus takes the long way round to pick up and drop off holiday makers at different caravan sites. But it was very nice to see the countryside. I lived in Plymouth as a child for six months, so it was nice to go back for a visit. The Hoe in Plymouth is worth the visit and the shopping centre really nice. Another bus, again from the point took us to Polperro we spent a wonderful holiday there a few years ago and stay right on the harbour at the old Harbour Masters house, it was lovely to go back, Polperro is definitely worth a day out. As I say the property was beyond reproach and the view was splendid. At Hannafore Point, there are some lovely little beaches and rocky inlets, we spent a few hours just sitting and watching the boats come in and out of Looe. it would have been nice to have couple of camping chairs and a sun shade for that. I did consider buying some but we could not have taken them back to Germany, it would have been a waste of forty or fifty pounds. My Wife and I rarely go back to the same place twice and to be honest the steps were just a little too much for us. Having said that we had a lovely time. and would like to thank the Owner for his guidance and advice, and for such a nice holiday.

A lovely appartment

What a view from both main bedroom and living room. All that we needed in the way of cooking items etc. Loved the arm chairs for the rainy days in front of the TV watching some of the DVDs that are there, also lots of books for the book worms. Looe itself has not changed much since our last trip 27 years ago. Great place for the beach, walking, boat trips and as it is a fishing port a Great place for fishing boat trips if you have good sea legs. Going to Cornwall would not be Cornwall with out a cream tea. Martins the bakeries just over looe bridge in east looe does lovely fruit scones to eat in or take back to the apartment to make your own cream tea with that view WOW. Thank you Rolf for letting us stay in your wonderful apartment.

Erwartungen mehr als erfüllt

Diese Ferienwohnung ist noch schöner, als die Fotos es andeuten. Wir mußten auf wirklich nichts verzichten - wohl aber auf das Superwetter. Umso mehr war diese Traumwohnung ein Ausgleich für die Regenzeit: Der direkte Blick auf den Hafen von Looe hat einfach Spaß gemacht. Von diesem Ausblick ist man fasziniert, wenn man den verschiedenen Wettern zusehen kann. Die Ausstattung der Wohnung hat mit dem, was man in England Hotelkomfort nennt, rein gar nichts gemein, zum Glück. Hier stimmt einfach alles.

Tolle Ferienwohnung

Die Ferienwohnung war sehr schön. Tadellos sauber und sehr gut ausgestattet. Meine Schwester und ich haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt und vor allem bei den Mahlzeiten die

herrliche Aussicht auf Looe, Strand und Meer genossen. Besonders lobenswert waren die

hilfreichen und netten Informationen, die Fam. Elsholz schon einige Zeit vor der Reise hat

zukommen lassen. Diese Wohnung kann ich jederzeit weiter empfehlen.

Kleiner Wermutstropfen sind die hohen, unregelmässigen Treppenstufen zum Parkplatz!

Also sollte Mann/Frau gut zu Fuß sein, wenn er/sie sich für diese Wohnung entscheidet.

Owner's Response: Ja. das stimmt! Es ist wirklich nicht schön diese 50 Treppen - stabil aber unregelmäßig- zu erklimmen. Ich selbst mache immer eine Pause auf halber Höhe (bin 77 Jahre alt), und dann geht es ganz einfach. Das Problem ist, dass das Haus ,wie der Name schon sagt, am Rand eines Cliffs liegt und der hauseigene Parkplatz hinter dem Haus .

The apartment has a beautiful, open view accross the sea, harbour, cliffs and beach.

Newly furnished and cozy to Central European standards.

Looe is the ideal place to explore Cornwall- and partly Devon - during your relaxing holiday (see the many tourist-guides in the apartment ).

The town itself is divided by the river : West Looe and East Looe with its many shops, pubs, restaurants, etc . This part is very more lively than West Looe, also due to the well-kept beach. Both parts are connected by a bridge and ferry. Looe is an old active fishing port, with many possibilitys for fishing trips . Both West- and also East Looe have landing piers for boats.

Looe River itself, just above the estuary, has moorings for private boats.

The 'Pilcher' and `Daphne du Maurier 'country with a lot of romance.

The begining of the Coastal Footpath to Polperro is near the apartment, a romantic fishing village. Manor-Houses, parks, old tin mines and caves can be visited. The beautiful coast near Looe can be explore on the public footpaths. Or you can go hiking in the famous "Moors" Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor.
