This apartement has two good size bedrooms, one with its own shower and basin but there is also a separate bathroom with its own basin, shower and toilets. The second toilet on a private pathway. There is a large sitting room with one of the sofas that is a sofabed. Off the sitting room, is a big open kitchen fully equipped. It is well furnished with some antiques. Very unusual for Paris, it has a lovely private access, with a beautiful mural painting (see photos) and that is where the second toilet is located. It is not overlooking the street so there is no noise at night.
This apartement in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Pres is so close to museums, the river Seine, good restaurants and shops. Could you be anywhere else?
It is in a 17th century building.
Free internet, free telephone calls to the US, Canada and Europe but charged to Australia and the rest of the world!!
Nearest metros are: Sèvres-Babylone or Saint-Germain des prés.
The apartement is on the first floor, continental standard, 2nd by US. There is no elevator.
I used to live in the UK so I'm bilingual which to most guests is a huge help!!
Property owner purchased this apartment in 2006
So well located, could you be anywhere else?
For our recent trip with our 11 yr old grand daughter, the Saint Peres apartment certainly hit the right spot. It was spacious, comfortable, smoothly functional and incredibly well located. Your kind guidance to places like Poirlane and Kilo shop and the Rue Princesse eating area made us feel lke guests rather than tenants, so thank you especially for that. I will be telling a young couple making their first trip to Paris this year about your place, for it would fit them if they can carry it. We came home , too soon, relaxed and very happy. The apartment is very charming and functional, perfect for up to 6 people if no one minds a sofa bed. We went with our nanny and two small kids and the nanny slept in the second bedroom, the children slept on the very comfortable sofa bed. Even though there is no air conditioning, the apartment stays cool and the fans are more than adequate at night, even in summer. Another plus is that the apartment is very private, has its own balcony with some plants and an outside attached toilet. Inside, the kitchen is of a nice size although the kitchen table is a little tight. But the best thing of all, is the incredible location. Near enough to every major attraction so you can walk, but far enough that you are away from tourist crowds and are able to experience a true Parisian feel of what life is like. There are incredible shops, supermarkets, boulangeries, all around. To top it all off, our host, Ferida Wagner, was very helpful and kind, showed us everything we needed to know and gave us excellent tips on what to do and where to go. The apartment has an incredible amount of resources including books and magazine reviews of local attractions, that make taking a Frommers with you completely unnecessary. We had a wonderful, unforgettable stay and are thankful for finding this place.
Ferida...for my second visit to Paris, the accommodations I remembered from six years ago surpassed my great memories.
Despite a week of rain in Paris, my niece and sister and myself had an amazing stay in Paris and most especially your wonderful accommodations.
We loved having the living room to sit at night and plan our next day activities. We loved the kitchen to sit and have our cheese and snacks in the late afternoon.
All the room and the amenities were just perfect and I was so very happy that both my niece and my sister loved the place as much as I did the first time I stayed there.
It was so great seeing you again and I so appreciate the time you took to greet us personally!
I soo look forward to returning again some day soon!! Take care Ferida and tank you again!
We had a terrific time in Paris. Would go back in a minute. The apartment was ideally located, just off the Rue St. Germain. We could walk to everything we wanted to visit. Being only one flight up, made it easy to get our luggage upstairs. The owner was easy to communicate with and easy to reach in case of a problem. Highly recommend this apartment.
We rented this apartment for my teenage daughter's first visit to Paris. Three of us stayed there for 4 nights. The space was ideal for us - 2 good size bedrooms (1 can be made up with twin beds or a full), an open kitchen and sitting area, 2 bathrooms (1 has no toilet, but there is an extra one off the terrace), washer and dryer. The apartment has good light and is very quiet despite being located within walking distance to great St. Germain cafes and stores. Ferida was charming and very helpful with details about the apartment and surrounding area. We would definitely stay there again and recommend the apartment highly to others!
We had a wonderful stay in this apartment. We were welcomed by Ferida who explained how the appliances worked and provided useful information on the local area.
The apartment was clean, well resourced and homely - a good place to come back to after a day's sightseeing. The location is fabulous and meant that we could walk to the louvre, musee d'orsay and even the effiel tower.
We and our boys (ages 8, 12 & 15) had a comfortable stay and would like to stay again in the event of a return visit to Paris - fingers crossed this happens soon!
First the pluses: the apartment is located near the center of the fabled Left Bank Saint-Germain area (Cafe Flore, Deux Magots, Brasserie Lipp, the Eglise de S. G., rue de Buci, rue des Saint-André-des-Arts, plus an endless number of cafes and restaurants) and is not far from the Musée d'Orsay, the Louvre, and Notre Dame; there are also metro stops nearby. The Master BR has a small shower and basin, but the main bathroom itself with a larger shower is separate. There are twin beds in the second bedroom and a pull out couch. The main plus for me was that the apartment is located in an interior that makes for exceptional quiet from an otherwise noisy street (rue des Saints-Pères). The owner Ferida had arranged for a car for the four of us from CdG that was very comfortable and capacious for our long drive in and not too expensive, she was there to show us around, and she left a bottle of wine. Everything was clean. Now the minuses: the second bathroom is outside the apartment and though on a private landing, dark and unappealing. The apartment itself needs brightening up especially as to the furnishings; some would say it is dingy. And compared to other VRBO and Airbnb places that we have stayed at, the owner provided an absolute minimum in the way of basic necessities such as TP; be sure to go to the local Monoprix to stock up before you go out to enjoy yourselves. Also I couldn't get the phone to work, though Ferida said we could even use it to call the US; I only wanted to call local restaurants and friends and had to use my iPhone instead. Its functioning should be explained. I recommend to bring an adapter for your electronic devices charger.
As long as it is not refurbished, I would recommend this place if you only care about adequate comfort, if quiet is important to you, and if otherwise what you're staying in is not as important as where you're staying.
Being in famous Saint-Germain-des-prés, you are just a walking distance from the famous cafés Deux Magots and Flore, good restaurants, shops, museums, jardin du Luxembourg, the river Seine etc... Could you be anywhere else??
So central to everything! You'll just be walking it all!
