Weitläufiges Haus mit Meerblick im Hinterland von Faro.

Wir waren mit 3 Generationen (6 Personen) für 2 Wochen zu Gast in diesem Haus.

Die Ausstattung ist sehr gut. In der Küche war alles, was man braucht in ausreichender Zahl vorhanden. Die zwei großen Schlafzimmer mit en-Suite Bädern sind mit Klimaanlagen ausgestattet. Beim Pool handelt es sich um einen Salzwasserpool, was für uns angenehmer als Chlorwasser war. Der Kontakt mit den Gastgebern und den Verwaltern vor Ort war sehr angenehm. Man merkt dem Haus zwar an, dass es schon etwas älter ist, wohlfühlen tut man sich dennoch. Wir kommen gerne noch einmal wieder.

4 km west lies the small town of Sao Bras de Alportel. There are supermarkets (including locals as 'pingo doce', but also the well-known Lidl Germany) and a market hall. Along the main street 'Avenida da Liberdade and the annex derived from the streets there are shops, banks, post office, doctors, hairdressers and many small cafes where you can enjoy a delicious espresso or coffee with typical Portuguese pastries alone. In the market hall is available each morning a large selection of fresh vegetables, fruit and fish. Ausßerdem there are several butcher's shops where you can buy fresh meat. In addition, you will find a wide variety of bars and restaurants with national and international cuisine. On Saturdays you can on the so-called Gypsy Market in Sao Bras buy both fresh vegetables and fruits, as well as make a bargain or looking for souvenirs, leather goods and clothing.

Of course, Sao Bras also offers an interesting history. In Sao Bras You can send a beautiful old town with typical narrow streets and a very old church 'Igreja Matriz' explore. Behind the church is from an alley, the 'Calçadinha Romana', the one on the right and left walls framed with old Roman road, after 5 minutes. Furthermore Sao Bras was in previous years, the summer residence of the bishops of the Algarve and it still stands the former Bishop's Palace 'Palacio Episcopal'.

For Easter, thousands of visitors come to Sao Bras, to watch the Easter procession. For the 'Festa das tochas Florida', the whole town decked out with flowers and designed the processional with a mile-long carpet of flowers.

More A festival is held on the last weekend in July, the 'Feira da Serra'. At this show, you can buy the products of the region such as honey, fig liqueur, almond desserts, Medronho and cheese directly from the manufacturer. Many craftsmen (basket weavers, shoemakers, blacksmithing) are exhibiting their wares. Dinner occur in various music and dance groups in the region. For Dining options include several restaurants serving local dishes.

The nearest large towns are Loulé, about 14 km west, Faro, about 18 km south-west, Tavira, about 20 km east and Olhao, about 20 km south-east. Also in Loule Saturdays is a slightly larger gypsy market, where it is worth stopping by times. Another very large and typical gypsy market is located in estoi (on the way to Faro). However, this happens only once a month. This is not far away Faro offers the possibility of extended shopping spree in the 'Forum Algarve' or a sightseeing tour with many world famous churches and a beautiful old town, if desired. Some of the most beautiful white sand beaches of Europe are in between 20 - 30 minutes away by car, including Faro, Dunas Doradas, Vale do Lobo, Quarteira or Vilamoura.

Golf Courses: Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo, Vila Sol, Vilamoura by car within 30 - reached 40 minutes.
