Lovely terrace overlooking the Basilica

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic stay in this flat! It is away from the touristy areas, so it was very quiet in the evenings. Our favorite part was the terrace that overlooked the rear of the Basilica. We would sit on the terrace to eat dinner and drink wine while watching the sunset.

The flat is well stocked with accessories (hair dryer, cooking utensils, iron and ironing board, etc). The clothes washer/dryer was fantastic to have! There was a bit of a heat wave during our stay, so we ended up washing clothes a few times.

The owners had a portable air conditioner for us to use because of the heat wave. It kept us very comfortable.

Excellent location and comfortable apartment

  • 5 of 5

Loved the apartment. It's in a great location in the museum district, close to the Rodin museum and Invalides (army) museum. More importantly, there is an excellent boulangerie two blocks away, and several cafes, grocery and produce markets, a really great creperie, and a weirdly good frozen food shop next door. Then there is the beautiful St. Clotilde Basilique with its fine architecture next door also. You can hear the church organ and choir from the apartment.

Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Sophie but she was very nice - we communicated by text messages mostly. The only downside of this apartment was no air conditioning, and the temperature went up in to the 90 degree F range, but there are good breezes with all the windows and the electric fans helped. The single-person elevator is also interesting, and some of us got our exercise going up and down the spiral staircase. The second floor loft bonus bedroom was fun.

Love the view and great central location!!!

  • 5 of 5

We just took our daughter to Paris to celebrate her 16th birthday and couldn't have imagined a more perfect place to stay! My wife and I had the main bedroom and our daughter stayed in the loft upstairs. I'm not sure how it would be in a hotter time (without central HVAC), but it was May and we hit about 80 degrees for a high each day in Paris, and the apartment (including the loft) was lovely with the windows open. We enjoyed most of our meals on the balcony overlooking the AMAZING cathedral and other buildings that date back to the revolution! It was such an upscale, safe neighborhood and the pictures exactly matched the apartment - especially the view!! We love, love, loved it and can't wait to go back!! It was within a 30 minute walk to almost every major monument or museum in Paris, plus the metro is just a couple blocks away to take you anywhere you want to go. And the owner was super helpful and quick to respond to any questions. The restaurant below us was a foodies delight, albeit pricey, but a great way to end our week there :)

Not bad but loud

  • 3 of 5

My wife and i rent apartments in Paris a couple of times a year. This one was fine. It was sizable and clean. The issue was with noise, both inside and out. The floors squeak literally everywhere, each step, making it hard for one of us to be awake and not the other. The larger problem was outside. There is a bar on the corner that stays open very late and is extremely loud with drunk people making noise well past 1:00am multiple nights a week, which was significant even up on the 5th floor. When we stayed there was also construction going on inside the building that caused a paint thinner smell to pervade the insides. All in all a few issues that made this not our best stay. The apartment itself is fine and the managers were easy to deal with. The location is close enough to walk to things if not right in the middle of the action. That's why the noise was so troublesome, if it was the heart of St Germain or by the river where the accessibility made the noise understandable it would've been more anticipated. But we thought this street would be a more quiet residential street and it wasn't. The bathroom was nicer than many Parisian apartments and the living room was large for the city. If noise doesn't bother you it's a good value.

Why Visit Paris When You Can Live There?

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here in September and the location was perfect. The apartment is in the 7th District, very close to embassies, ministries and the National Assembly so it was quiet and very secure. Just blocks from the Seine, the Grand Palais, the Rodin Museum and the metro. We gathered food, pastries, wine and caviar from nearby vendors with whom we became familiar and consumed our treats on the lovely terrace. A ten minute walk to Le Bon Marche or to Rue Cler. The apartment was clean and the furnishings comfortable. Just what you would expect for a pied a terre in Paris. Minor issues (like a non-working safe) were outweighed by getting to experience Paris like a Parisian.
