About the property

The Finca disposes of a main building with patio (inner courtyard) as well as several outbuildings which were remodeled almost everyone to small flats or rooms. A living room with attached bedroom and private bathroom belongs to the main building. Moreover there is a kitchen with dining room as well as another bathroom with washing machine and tumble drier which may be used by the customers. This bath, the living room and the kitchen are connected through the patio (inner courtyard) which is roofed and mainly glazed. Through this patio you can also reach the generous terrace with a beautiful view to the sea as well as the access to the other buildings. The living room, the attached bedroom and the dining room of the main building dispose of a magnificent sea look. The sitting room disposes of comfortable seat opportunities for 5 people and is equipped with pieces of furniture typical for the country. A 32 inches LCD television with satellite receipt and DVD player are available to the guests. The kitchen is equipped with a gas cooker, a microwave oven, a dish washer and a fridge with separate freezer compartment. Dishes richly exist. For the terrace there are a big table and chairs for meals or comfortable sitting together outside. The kitchen, the living room and all bedrooms dispose also of a chimney stove. There is also enough chimney wood which is available free of charge.

Furthermore there is a gas grill at the outside area of the Finca which is also available to the guests as well as free WLAN.

On the side of the Finca which is turned to the mountain is a building with a bedroom and an own private bathroom as well as a small dining area. In addition there are also two other rooms but without private bathroom. Guests of these rooms can use the generous bathroom in the patio.

The hot-water preparation of the building are ecologically friendly as it works by solar panels on the roof or if necessary electrically. The energy expenses are included in the rental price.

In the entrance to the house there is enough space for parking several vehicles. In the rear patio you can find the big Jacuzzi which is made for up to 8 people. The jacuzzi is heated primarily by Solar energy, which means that the water temperature depends on the weather. If requested and with an additional charge the pool can also be heated electrically on a steady temperature of minimum 28°C degrees. For those guests who would like to enjoy the sun a little more privately there is also a place with sunloungers which is sheltered from the wind by a natural stone wall. The small garden beside the house invites to admire the nearly all-year flower and plant splendour. The lemons and other fruits of own trees may be also consumed with pleasure by our guests.

If requested a breakfast bread home delivery service can be organized for the guests. This means that the baker would deliver the fresh and typical bread of the country from Monday till Saturday. The payment for this must be directly done by paying the driver.

About Magdalena Mora Orozco

We are a married couple at the end of the 40ths and self-employed, we live in the south of Germany and we have fallen in love just 10 years ago with the island Tenerife. Quickly it was clear to us that we want to spend a large part of our spare time on the island. Then, after a long search we have acquired in 2010 the Finca La Hoya and have been restoring it further since then. We ourselves spend many weeks a year with pleasure with friends on the Finca and have furnished this, hence, in such a way, as if we ourselves lived constantly in it. Our present guests have estimated this atmosphere very much.

Precisely the north west of Tenerife is probably the nicest corner on the whole island. Here, far away from the mass tourism, noise and bustle, you can enjoy the whole beauty of the nature and rest which is being offered by this area.

What makes this chateau / country house unique

Already by entering the Finca you can feel the history which the old walls must already have experienced. Life was certainly not easy in this area earlier and for sure it was laborious. But the people were happy and healthy and lived in harmony with their animals and the nature.

Our main goal was to preserve this character but without renouncing of the comfort of our today's civilisation. From an ecological point of view we use solar energy to load the environment so little as possible. Also with the building materials we tried to use where possible domestic products to decorate the Finca so we aim to maintain the ecological balance so positively as possible. Furthermore, power-saving machines or energy-saving lamps are used everywhere where possible to hold the energy consumption on the Finca so slightly as possible.

Herrliche Finca mit gigantischem Meerblick, landestypischem Ambiente und sehr ruhiger Lage

Tolles Anwesen ideal für den Urlaub um die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Ideal auch als Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen oder Besuche der umliegenden historischen Altstädte.

Die Ausstattung lässt keine wünsche übrig. Alles ist sauber und ordentlich. Die Hausverwalter sind total nett und Organisation ist vorbildlich. Wir kommen wieder.

Sehr schönes Anwesen in herrlich ruhiger Lage und perfektem Zustand mit viel Platz und tollem Garten

Einfach toll was man hier geboten bekommt. Es fehlt an nichts und wir konnten einen perfekten Urlaub verbringen. Auch die ganze Insel ist traumhaft. Das milde Klima, die herrliche Landschaft und die leckere kanarische Küche haben uns besonders gefallen.

Una splendida vacanza!

Abbiamo soggiornato in 9 in questa splendida casa e ci siamo trovati veramente bene. Gli ambienti sono spaziosi e accoglienti e la cucina è super fornita. Il proprietario all'arrivo ci ha fatto trovare frutta fresca e vino. La vista dell'oceano è favolosa e la terrazza godibile e attrezzata con tanto di barbecue e lettini; bellissimo e curato il giardino con piante grasse, fiori e alberi da frutto. Si trova in una zona molto tranquilla e quasi isolata e nelle notti stellate la vista del cielo è impagabile! La sera avevamo la compagnia di simpaticissimi gechi che vivono all'esterno. Insomma un piccolo paradiso e le foto rispecchiano fedelmente la realtà. Unica nota negativa se vogliamo trovarne è la difficoltà nel raggiungerla visto che si trova in posizione elevata e le pendenze sono notevoli! Assolutamente consigliata!!!

Wunderschöne Unterkunft

Leider geht auch der schönste Urlaub einmal zu Ende.

Wir konnten wunderbare drei Wochen in dieser gemütlichen Finca verbringen. Bis auf einen Tag haben wir jeden Morgen beim Frühstück schon die herrliche Aussicht auf das Meer von der Terrasse aus genossen.

Die Ausstattung der Finca lässt nichts zu wünschen übrig. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet, dass es eine Freude ist, die frischen Zutaten aus der Umgebung (danke auch noch mal für den Tipp mit dem Bauernmarkt in Santo Domingo) nach Hause zu tragen und auf dem Grill zuzubereiten.

Wenn es abends kühler wurde, haben wir es uns im Wohnzimmer gemütlich gemacht. Für den Kamin war es "leider" noch zu warm.

Sehr schnell ist man von der Finca auf der Landstraße, die eine sehr gute Verbindung zu den schönen Ausflugszielen in der Umgebung bietet (Icod de los Vinos, La Orotava, Puerto de la Cruz, Nationalpark Teide...). Gleich unterhalb liegt Garachico.

Es gibt so Vieles, dass wir in den drei Wochen noch nicht gesehen haben, dass wir bestimmt noch mal wieder kommen!

Schöne Finca

Eine mit viel Liebe zum Detail ausgebaute und ausgestattete Finca, leider hat uns das Wetter einen Strich durch die Rechnung gemacht, viel Nebel und leider wenig Sonne, so dass wir die schöne Finca viel zu selten genießen konnten. Nette Vermieter, die bei Problemen sofort reagiert haben, nette und freundliche Verwalter. Die Anfahrt ist abenteuerlich! Vorab netter Mail-Kontakt und eine gute Wegbeschreibung.

The Finca is located below the place El Tanque, approx. 12 km west of Icod de los Vinos, on approx. 500 metres above the sea level, in the upper edge of the place El Tanque Bajo, it is the last but one Finca in a dead end street surrounded by two other Fincas which are also restored and stand under German management. From the airport in the south of the island you can reach the Finca by two different routes. The first one and clearly longer route goes on the eastern side of the island by a highway passing the capital Santa Cruz. Nevertheless, the western route over the Teno mountains is on the landscape more nicely and more interesting. This route leads predominantly over mountain streets full of curves and beautiful landscapes. Although this route is clearly shorter, the journey time is nearly the same. Even though the Finca can also be reached by bus or taxi, a rental car is basically recommended on the island because of the spare supply on public transportation. Shopping possibilities for the everyday needs can be found in the place below and the place above the Finca and are to be reached by car in only few minutes. Restaurants, bars, clubs and leisure facilities can also be found in the surrounding places.

Die Beheizung des Pools erfolgt durch eine Solarheizung. Die Wassertemperatur ist daher von der Witterung und den Außentemperaturen abhängig. Sollten Sie eine ständige Wassertemperatur von 27 Grad C. wünschen so ist eine elektrische Zusatzheizung nötig. Diese berechnen wir mit 10,- EUR pro Tag und muss separate hinzu gebucht werden.
Für die Anreise nach 22 Uhr berechnen wir eine Aufwandspauschale von 20,-EUR und für die Anreise nach 24 Uhr eine Aufwandspauschale von 50,-EUR. Die Pauschale wird im Moment der Schlüsselübergabe bar kassiert.
