Get ready for the vacation of your dreams in the 'Grand Cayman!' A true island vacation on Palm Island between Boca Grande island and Englewood. This three bedroom, two bath, waterfront pool home is lavishly decorated in a tropical Ernest Hemingway style. Entertaining is a breeze in the gorgeous, fully stocked gourmet kitchen with stone counter tops. The living room overlooks a large screened in porch that gives you a beautiful view of the waterfront yard on Kettles Harbor. Enjoy the beautiful tropical, private, heated swimming pool surrounded by palm trees and lush tropical landscaping. There is a charcoal grill by the pool for grilling your fresh fish or steaks, and a hammock under the palm trees to relax and curl up with a good book. Take a stroll down your own private 150 foot dock and cast a fishing line for a chance at a trophy Snook, Redfish, or Trout. Bring your boat and enjoy direct access to the Intracoastal Waterway just a few seconds away. Our guests enjoy free use of the double fishing kayak during their stay. It is a great way to get on the water and enjoy a quiet paddle for two, or go for some great inshore fishing near the dock!

We give detailed information to all our guests as to how to fish the dock, beach, or inshore waters if they are interested.

Why Blake Monroe chose Florida South Central Gulf Coast

We fell in love with Palm Island in 1982 while staying at a friends island home. We did not realize that such pristine 'natural Florida' preserves still existed...and all within a stones throw of the mainland. Wide white sandy beaches, great shelling and fishing...and no crowds! If you see 6 or 7 people within sight, it is a normal day. It is like having the beach all to yourself. My family are avid fishermen too! When not at the beach, you will find us fishing off of the dock, on the kayak fishing the inshore waters just off the dock, or fishing the beach. We are happy to give our guests detailed information as to what tackle to have on hand and exactly where to cast and how to fish our best spots! When we are not relaxing by the pool, we can also be found scooting around the island via golf cart to view the beautiful scenery and awesome beach sunsets! Ahhhh...paradise on Palm Island Florida.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I wanted to let you know what a wonderful week we had at the Grand Cayman! It's the most relaxing place we've ever stayed at, and you were right...the best seat in the house is the dock! We enjoyed many an early morning coffee or early evening glass of wine watching the fish, birds and the total peace and quiet. Long beach walks and shell collecting were also wonderful. We are both full of envy that you have a haven so close to where you live to get away from it all and totally unwind. I will of course be recommending your beautiful home to friends who are looking for an "away for it all holiday" and I know that we will be back soon ourselves. Sue

I have stayed in a large amount of Homes but this one was the best by far. The screened porch is fabulous and you don't want to sit anywhere else all day! The golf cart is a great way to get around the island and see things you would miss if in a car. We had appetizers and drinks at the Resort restaurant, great service and the food was delicious. The pool and dock are a big bonus at this house! We enjoyed both, fishing and swimming. The house was very clean. The owner Blake was extremely helpful and responsive to any needs or questions we had about the house or the island.

Just incredible!

  • 5 of 5

Another wonderful time at the Grande Cayman! Our family spent Spring Break at this always clean, comfortable home. We swam, fished from the dock and kayaked every day. We went to the hidden lake and enjoyed the mangrove tunnels and all of the wildlife. We love the lushness of the landscaping and the ability to grill and hang out in your own private pool makes this our favorite place on Palm Island. The owner, Blake is very friendly and informative. He'll tell you all of the tricks to fishing and the special places to go on this magical island! Would not hesitate to recommend this home.

Can we just stay...

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 6 (parents, grandparents and 2 littles) stayed at Blake's BEAUTIFUL home for 4 days after a Disney get away. We fell in love before even walking through the (high quality) doors, LOL. The house is designed as if we made it for ourselves, everything in the right place, charm throughout, lush finishings and furnishings. The bedrooms were perfect, especially the master with an unobstructed majestic view of the inlet. The kitchen was perfectly stocked with everything you'll need, extra linens, games, cleaning supplies, laundry... just could not have asked for a more perfect place. We rented the golf cart, which we HIGHLY recommend, as our treks to the beach were perfect and so much more fun bopping out there. The island is quiet and lovely, hardly saw another soul. The beach was our oasis, finding over 1500 shark teeth or pieces in our short stay. We scoured the sand morning, noon and night. Our girls thought it was the best trip ever, and they have been around the globe. We had a couple resident gopher tortoises to visit. The pool is heated and amazing, as are the lounge chairs and the bbq, which we used plenty. There are lights under the dock, so we went out every night to watch and listen in solitude. We did take a charter out, as we didn't fly with fishing gear (sad to say, as would have LOVED to fish off the great dock), and caught plenty of fish and had a GREAT time. We will be back... as often as possible and dream of a big get together to rent both of Blake's beautiful homes. This is bliss, so don't pass it up!! (and he was nothing short of great in communication and having us prepared for arrival, thank you!).

Wonderful place

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a perfect vacation at Grande Cayman over Thanksgiving this year! Blake and his property manager go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable!! Can't say enough about the island and the home!! We caught snook, trout, pin fish and even a barracuda right off of the dock. This place is truly special and hope to spend many days here in the future. Thank you for sharing this special place with us and making us feel so welcome.

On Island Time is just what the Soul Needs!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed here more times than we can count and every time it has been an absolute dream! We have 3 children that can let loose and play in the pool, fish off the dock, explore the island without fear of speeding cars, and so much more! The house is perfectly situated for us to enjoy comfortably. I've always found this property to be beyond clean and well maintained. Can't wait until we can visit again!

Apollo Beach, FL

An oasis perfect for a relaxing vacation...

  • 4 of 5

This home is lovely with plenty of room for the family. The landscaping is beautifully maintained and the kids love the waterfall in the pool! Driving the golf carts around and to the beach was great! The "beach" bikes let us work off the calories from eating all the fish caught off the dock.

Thank you, Blake and Kim, for a wonderful week (and for the fishing tips).

This area is famous for its Tarpon fishing at Boca Grande Pass, and giant Snook and Redfish! The Manatee's play in front of our dock and in the harbor on a regular basis. The island is very narrow, and the beach is on the next street over, giving you the best of both worlds in boating, fishing, and easy beach access!

Other Activities: kayaking, boating, miniature golf.

Golf: Palm Island is surrounded by many local golf courses on the mainland. Most are within 1 to 9 miles from the island.
