Overview

About the property

With swimming pool from the front door into the water 10 m; Sleep in 3 separate rooms

The 91sqm apartment is located on the sea side in the mezzanine floor of a 14-party owner-residential complex, with well-kept, large garden plot, garages and parking spaces.

It has been classified with 4 stars and is very personal. The mostly nostalgic furniture comes from historicism and Art Nouveau. Irony of the absolutely quiet location, at least after the bathing: it could some guests the first night bad sleep, because they were not used to this total peace.

From the sitting platform in the bay window of the 32qm-Stube you have a 180 ° -view of the Olympic sailing port on the Kiel Bay / open sea and south direction Innerförde and cliffs. From all windows (and if you make the neck long, even from the bathroom) and the balcony / loggia (south facing - breakfast in the sun under the umbrella - a poem!) you have free lake view. A cross-trainer ergometer is at your disposal, for 'patriotic edification' you like to immerse yourself in a school wall map from about 1905, on it you recognize the Memel country and East Prussia, Nordschleswig and Alsace-Lorraine belonging to the German Reich. Ask your children how far they can still classify these geographical and historical parameters. I bought this treasure in 1988 at a flea market in Bremen for 20, - DM - the good man, obviously ignorant, did not know which jewel he gave out of hand. The kitchen old Frisian baroque, but modern of course. 4 hotplates, but no oven, on vacation does not have to be, but microwave with grill function. My former study - with a large desk and parade look, now 2nd bedroom, a permanent bed, another can be added. The bathroom - with a flat shower tray (and watering can, to catch the supply water, conservation of resources, environmental protection), bathtub, urinal. The 1st bedroom: double bed, 2 mattresses of course, natural latex. Access to the balcony, as well as from the room. Shop with fresh rolls and several restaurants around the corner in the Olympic center, there also for the water rats seawater swimming pool with attached mother and child bath.

Summer holidays at the lake - ask as early as possible. In my exposed position regulars order from year to year ahead of the requests I could 'Hunderteweise stack'. Do not overlook the fact that the coast has its special charm in the harsh season. They have more land for themselves, they do not have to slalom and run on the boardwalk, and when the autumn and winter storms break the waves on the beach and groynes and the iodine-laden onshore sea air puffs up your lungs, you live in the spa for free.

Continued treasures Kiel 'and umzu' (an expression from my native Bremen): After the seal pool, the Kunsthalle, a really splendid Art Nouveau, the bomb damage unfortunately not repaired in style - it was allowed (even now, 2012!) Zeitgeist architects let off steam and mess up the facade. The former fish hall as a maritime museum. The city museum in the Warleberger Hof, the oldest patrician house in the city. The Town Hall Tower, inspired by the Campanile in Venice (that symbolized the claim to power over the Adriatic Sea, ours over the Baltic Sea: Imperial Fleet!). From him an impressive view over the city and the fjord. Its counterpart on the eastern shore in the district Gaarden: The high-rise 'Sandkrug 32', a unique panoramic view over the extensive shipyard area and the eastern shore districts. East and West Bank connects the Dreifelder bascule bridge over the Hörn (southern end of the fjord), a world first. It leads to the station, here also the investors for the big ferries to Göteborg and Oslo as well as starting point of the Fördedampfer - and the FREYA, a Uralt-Raddampfer, which brings you up to the Kiel lighthouse or through the NO channel to Rendsburg, with exquisite Buffet on board. A boat trip is indispensable: on the Schwentine, east bank, from the mooring Alte Mühle up the river to Oppendorfer Mühle, approx. 3/4 hour, due to the 'North German Amazon'. The skipper shows you the turtles' sunbathing places, during my active teacher time I was able to observe kingfishers and dippers with my students on rowing trips there.

In a few key words, what I recommend you to experience in Kiel, in the network and through the tourist office, you will experience many times ....... oh, lunch, where I like to travel with my good people when we at the Corner 'what to do: Schwentine-Mensa, north bank of the river, near investors Schwentine ferry, belongs to the local technical college, former machine hall of the then Howaldtwerft, well restored, listed, overlooking Schwentine and Seefischmarkt, food in 2 levels, vegetarian , varied salad bar, for guests student prices + x. Well then ...... good appetite (for our Swabians: 'Gschmäckle', and our Bazis: 'A Guat'n'!

Grandioser Ausblick auf die Kieler Förde und die Schiffe

  • 4 of 5

BALTIC SEA - HOW IT DOES NOT GO NEAR! No joke - 10 meters (ten meters!) in front of your apartment, the beach spreads. They go in the bathing suit from the front door and, past beach chairs, splashing after a few seconds in the sea. As a sailor from blissful student days, I know so many coastal areas in the near and far - I noticed no house, no apartment closer to the beach. Schilksee is located at the junction of the Kiel Fjord to the Baltic Sea, since 'Emperor's Times' as a rural resort a 'summer as painted', incorporated since 1959 to Kiel and thus the northernmost district of the Kiel fjord horseshoe-framing state capital.

Schilksee became world-famous not only through the hosting of the sailing competitions in the 1972 Summer Olympics (since then the northern part of the town is dominated by the Olympic center, unfortunately by an excess of - then highly praised by interested circles - concrete, with an extensive port facility for local and foreign sailors ), but also by the sailing regattas of the Kieler Woche, which have been held annually since 1882 here. You can remember - this always takes place in the last full week of June, so the final Sunday must be in June. It's as simple as that, but not so easy to find accommodation for this event. The m e n i g e is promised 'for life' to my first regular guests of 1997, before and after that, however, I invite you to enjoy this beautiful spot with much less hustle and bustle. Thus, the pedestrian promenade between the front garden of the house and green embankment leads to the beach directly at your feet, if you can wander from the seat in the bay window the 180-degree view to the left over the Olympic marina north to the lighthouse Bülk (black and white curled ),. He stands on the Huk (sea-going for headland) between Kiel Fjord and Eckernförde Bay - you can climb it to cheer over the unforgettable panoramic view over the lake and the countryside. Far away, on a concrete pedestal, you can see the red-and-white ringed keel lighthouse, separating the main shipping route for incoming and outgoing ships, most of them to / from the Kiel Canal, but also the two large ferries to Gothenburg and Oslo. which now have crusader-level and become a 2- or

Invite 3-day trip. The idyllic hiking trail, always along the edge, leads across Bülk into the Eckernförde Bay, through a protected coastal high forest, then tapers to a track to Danish Nienhof, left Acker, right the yawning abyss of the cliffs, a challenge for skillful Cyclists, but rewarded in the end with a stop at the beach cafe 'Seeschlößchen', coffee in the midst of bathing life - if ...

The view straight ahead of 'Am Strand' is on a clear view - I'm missing now the infinity sign on the keyboard - goes anyway to the sharp line of the Kimm (nautical for sea horizon). And in general - See and Weite: Do not miss the nocturnal lightshow, such as the lighthouses with their sector fire, the shallows with their yellow flashing lights and the red (incoming starboard) and green (incoming port) fairway barrels with appropriate firing the ships the way show them, in turn, with their red, green and white position and steamer lights to identify themselves and their direction of travel. Looking to the right from the windows or from the balcony, you can see the striking tower of the 1936 naval memorial on the opposite eastern shore of the fjord - even here, at a height of more than 90m, a fantastic view. At your feet, jacked up on the beach, World War II submarine U995, a technical monument and museum where you can recreate the suffering our fathers and grandfathers endured in action.

From the front door to the right along the promenade to the south you will discover further highlights of the Fördelandschaft: Past the historic and new villas rises the steep bank, in several places with demolition edges, the natural forces clearly, then the coast opens to the wide Falckensteiner beach with its small , remarkable dunes. On the edge of some lovely cafes, u. a. in / at the former lighthouse keeper's cottage of the Friedrichsorter lighthouse, at the narrowest point of the fjord.

Even with the occasional (do not say typical!) North German 'Schietwetter' will not be boring for sure, Kiel is - in spite of its horrendous bombardment - crammed full of sightseeing opportunities: Seefestungs ruin Friedrichsort, locks NO channel, Tirpitz (marine) port, Innerförde promenades Hindenburgufer with historic parks and Kaffeegarten 'Forstbaumschule' (a jewel of Muggle!), Kiellinie with (state) government buildings, aquarium and seal pool (more s
