About the property

The house Erika is located on Schulgässli in the middle of a quiet residential area off the main road at the southern border of the village. Shopping facilities and restaurants are in close proximity, reachable within a few minutes even by walk. Wilderswil is situated in the Jungfrau region and is an ideal starting point for nature lovers, culture lovers and for athletes. The health resort Interlaken, between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, is located only 4 km from the holiday home with all its recreational activities.

The spacious, bright 3-room apartment with adjoining pergola and a total of 85 m2 of living space is located on the first floor of the three story house with windows on all sides and open view of the Jungfrau massif. The apartment can accommodate 4 to 6 persons. There is 1 bedroom with 2 beds, a separate room with a bunk bed. A large sofa bed is there also in the spacious living room with fireplace, large dining table and lounge area with books, games, there is also a digital TV / HD and Wifi, high speed internet access. The modern living cum kitchen has all the comforts you could wish for: ceramic hob, refrigerator freezer, oven, dishwasher, coffee maker and various electrical appliances such as toaster, steamer, kettle and so on. The large garden on the south side of the house offers plenty of space for relaxation on the property. Garden furniture is available. On the north side of the house, a large car parking and on request a garage can be used additionally. Smoke detectors are installed throughout the house. You may smoke only in the garden or on the patio. Pets are allowed only on request and with explicit prior booking.

The house Erika was built in 1927, expanded and renovated several times. Since three generations it is in family ownership. It offers accommodation and recreation for all, permanently or temporarily residing in Wilderswil. Our family house means a lot to us, it is furnished cosily and personally. We are glad to offer a beautiful home for a holiday season to people from all over the world, who look for something special and know how to appreciate it. You can relax in our large garden and / or indulge in the numerous activities available in the near and far surrounding places.

Lovely, very central apartment with a very friendly welcome.

Very well located, only a few minutes walk from the station but in a very quiet area, which made getting around very easy. Great view. Extremley friendly and helpful host. Lovely, comfortable and well equipped apartment with lots of extras including chocolates for the children which they very much appreciated. We used Jungfrau passes which covered all of the local cablecars, trains and boat trips. We would definitely return to this apartment.

We had a tremendous holiday in a superb location. Very well equipped flat in a fantastic location. Easy to get to the mountains and the lakes, as well as trips to Berne and beyond. The owners couldn't be more helpful. All in all a wonderful holiday location.

Great location and unbelievable views

For me, the best thing about this property was eating our meals looking out at a wonderful view of the Jungfrau (though admittedly obscured by clouds on several days). Apart from that it was a clean, comfortable, well-equipped property and the family are very friendly and helpful, providing us with a welcome pack including Toblerone and Swiss wine when we arrived. The location was good - close to the Wilderswil train station on a line which gets you into the centre of Interlaken in no time (for free with the Interlaken card) and going the other direction into the Jungfrau region for fantastic hiking.

Excellent place to stay!!!

You will not be disappointed staying in this house. We loved everything about this apartment- setup, location, views, proximity to the train station, grocery store. We were greeted by the apartment caretaker upon arrival and given a detailed overview. The owner left us a huge chocolate and home made strawberry jam, which we loved. The owner kept travel guest card, almost all the basics for the kitchen including milk, bread & butter.

I highly recommend this apartment, I am sure you will enjoy your here!!

Great Vacation Rental

This was my first experience using HomeAway and it was great. The property listing description is totally accurate. The home is very, very clean and well organized and family friendly. The home had everything in it that we could ask for to make this a nice and relaxing stay. And the views from the home are so beautiful. We drove and were able to find the home with no problems and there is parking. It is in a very good location, on a quiet street in walking distance to grocery stores, and the train and bus stations and a playground. The owner was there to greet us when we arrived and provided excellent customer service. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the Interlaken area. We were also given an Interlaken guest card from the owner, which got us free bus and train travel in the area as well as discounts to attractions. During our stay we were able to see many attractions in the Interlaken area, as well as Thun, Brienz, Bern and Zermatt. It was an all around wonderful experience and the property was a great place to return to each night after our day trips.

In return for the tax you will receive on arrival these guest cards, which entitles you to a range of discounts in the whole Jungfrau Region. The guest card in additionally entitle the holder to free travel on public transport in the Interlaken region and to Iseltwald, Saxeten and Niederried. The card is personal and only valid during your stay in our apartment. I think you made the most of your holiday and had a good time. A Beautiful Vacation Property

This wonderful home is beautiful, spotlessly clean, and has everything a family needs for a relaxing vacation. Before and during our stay, Marianne was attentive and helpful, giving suggestions about nearby activities and attractions as well as leaving little Swiss treats at our front door for us!! We are a family of 4 and spent 2 weeks here. It is a 5 minute walk to the train station, with trains that link to Interlaken twice an hour. We were able to purchase the Bernese Oberland train pass, which allowed unlimited travel in this area. Our travels took us to Bern, Thun, Murren, Wengen, Mannlichen, Interlaken, Gimmelwald, Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Schynige Platte, Lake Thun, and Lake Brienz. The travel pass included boat rides (cruise) on Lake Thun and Lake Brienz as well as all the cable cars and trains and funiculars that go up into the Alpine villages we explored. We highly recommend this "home away from home" and will stay here again when we return to Wilderswil.

The village of Wilderswil and the nearby Interlaken offer nearly endless recreational values pertaining to culture, nature and sports for holiday guests of all ages. Wilderswil is located in the centre of the Jungfrau region, few kilometres south of Interlaken. Wilderswil is the starting point for excursions in the Jungfrau region or, more generally, into the Bernese Oberland or the adjacent Wallis. Public transport to various nearby and farther destinations is guaranteed through direct train and / or bus services in both summer and winter. The roads to the valley stations of the surrounding ski resorts of Grindelwald, Mürren and Wengen are always passable by car.

The landscape between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, Bödeli, is almost flat and is well suited for smaller or larger bike rides and walks. Just the village of Wilderswil, with its typical Berner Oberland houses, flowers and fountain offers a relaxing tour.
