Great stay in a great location

  • 5 of 5

The house was lovely and the location hard to beat - basically a 2 minute walk to a lovely beach. We had dinner outside on the deck several nights which has an amazing view. House itself is well appointed. Overall stay was great and would absolutely come back to stay here again if we make another trip to this area of Brittany.

This place is a real gem!

  • 5 of 5

This place is a gem in Brittany. For a newcomer to the area one may look at places in San Malo or Dinard that are beautiful and impressive but otherwise as any other ellegant places one can visit and stay in the world - but this old converted rectory overlooking plage du Verger is like a dream. We were staying, this time for a short time in the older, beautifully restored part of the house - anybody who can appreciate impeccable taste of the owners, will be immediately amazed by the interior. This is a place one wants to come back. In a short walk past the stone chapel, and grazing horses, one enter the beach, and endless hiking trails with spectacular views on the ocean. The fishing village, Cancale in nearby, a wonderful place to visit - next time we will ty to rent bikes and bike to the village. This house, this location is an ideal place for vacation in Brittany - after visiting the typical tourist locations, in Dinan, Dinard, St Malo or Mt St Michael ( that was turned into a horrific overcrowded attraction) - the house in Verger is a place to forget about everything, it is so immersed in nature, dreamy, private, beautiful, unforgettable. A true gem in Brittany. We will be there again and again, we will send there our friends, and we hope that the owners, who did such a superb job restoring the house, will keep it always available.

  • 4 of 5

  • 5 of 5

Cancale is an original fishing village and one of the most important oyster growing areas in Europe. Steep cliffs and white sandy beaches alternate. There are several golf courses nearby. The historic town of St. Malo is only about 15 minutes by car.

Our house is situated just above on the most beautiful beach in Cancale. Here you can swim even at low tide. On foot you can run via a small path for about 3 min. From the beach. From the house you have a wonderful view over the whole bay. The house is an ancient rectory and was originally part of the same opposite St. Mary's Chapel. It was completely gutted and renovated in 2009.
