Finca Sambal exists of a detached Manor House in a colonial style, called SAFRAN, and an additional house containing the duplex halves MANGO and PAPAYA.

SAFRAN with its 160 sqm living space is a dream out of 1001 Nights. Enter the house through a corridor in a rainbow of colours from all shades of blue to red. There is a green bedroom and an orange one, not only painted but glazed by the land lady in week long efforts.

The bathroom is a dream in natural stone with a marble shower and an extra whirl tub. Take a look at the photographs - the whole description would fill pages.

Directions: From the airport follow the signage to LOS LLANOS, the street (LP 1) leads you upwards through a tunnel to the other side of the mountains. From there the street leads you to EL PASO (beware of a speed camera at the 'Centro de Visitantes'). In El Paso turn right a the first traffic light until appr. 100 meter to the next traffic light, where you turn right again into the one way street 'Calle Manuel Tano'. Follow this street upwards and straight until a narrow crossing of the street 'Calle San Antonio', turn here right again and immediately left into the street 'Calle Acerjo'. The second house on the right hand side is the Finca Sambal (blue and purple), after 5 meters a path is sloping down to the parking lot.

Finca Sambal is centrally located on the sunny western side of the Island with spectacular views of the mountains of the Cumbre (the ridge, that divides La Palma into the eastern and western sides) and across the Valley of Aridane. The centre of El Paso is in walking distance (10 minutes), the Finca lies on the outskirts in a calm side street.

This small holiday resort exists of two houses, the old colonial style manor house and the rather newly built duplex house with the two units Mango and Papaya, surrounded by a sub-tropical garden.

The terraces and winter garden of all three units open to the secluded western side with panoramic views over the Valley of Aridane and El Paso to the ocean, also the pool area with the large sun terrace and the partly covered barbecue area. The swimming pool is roofed and therefore swimming is possible all year round. There is great walking or biking from the doorstep, passing well-tended canarian houses and garden, or meadows with horses and goats, surrounded by the woody slopes of the Cumbre.

This is a rural and original part of La Palma, far from any hectic and a little bit like from another time ...

El Paso is a village where traditions are still important, the original 'Fiestas' are still celebrated and the old men are sitting outside the bars, sipping their coffee and smoking their cigars.

But there are also plenty of shopping facilities: super markets, bakeries, health stores, souvenir shop and some fine restaurants.

The capital Santa Cruz and the airport are only 30 min by car, Los Llanos, the 'secret capital' is only 10 minutes and the beaches of Tazacorte, Puerto Naos, Charco Verde and Los Cancajos are only 15 - 20 minutes by car.

El Paso is a great starting point for exploring the island in every direction.

Wunderbarer Urlaub

Wir hatten in unserer Finca Sambal / Mango 2 wunderbare Wochen. Bei der Ankunft in der Ferienwohnung war alles genau so , wie es beschrieben war und wir uns es vorgestellt hatten. Allein für die Betreuung vor der Anreise mit den Tipps und Vermittlung der Autovermietung durch die Besitzer der Familie Haist möchten wir uns noch einmal ausdrücklich bedanken , so dass alles reibungslos geklappt hat. Auch vor Ort wurden wir gut betreut durch die Hausperle Andrea , so dass wir schon Pläne schmieden , nächstes Jahr wieder zu kommen. Denn die Wohnung hat einen idealen Standort mitten auf der Insel auf der Sonnenseite der Cumbre .Trotzdem kann man auf der Terasse liegend den Blick auf den Ort und das Meer schweifen lassen und die Sonnenuntergänge genießen. Einziges Manko ist der Zaun hinter dem Pool , man kann kein Foto im Liegen von der Terasse auf die Idylle machen, ohne den Zaun mit auf dem Foto zu haben (ist ein Scherz ) . Durch die zentrale Lage konnten wir in alle Richtungen der Insel unsere Ausflüge gestalten. Nur leider sind 17 Tage eine viel zu kurze Zeit um La Palma komplett zu durchstreifen.. Eine wunderbare Insel , die Gott sei Dank noch nicht durch Bettenburgen verbaut ist. Wir kommen wieder , keine Frage.

Toller Blick von der Terasse über den Hang zum Meer. Bei etwas kühleren Winden bietet der Wintergarten einen ebenso tollen Sitzplatz. Der Pool ist klasse und wirklich warm. Der morgendliche Besuch des Huhn war lustig. Die Stadtmitte liegt in Laufweite. Die Wohnung "Mango" bietet alles was man braucht. Große Dusche im Bad, 2 Waschbecken, große und gut ausgestatetet Küche, 2 Schlafzimmer und ein schönes Wohnzimmer, das man aber nicht braucht, weil man hat ja Wintergarten und Terasse.

Das war richtig schön!

Die Villa Mango ist super, da macht man nichts verkehrt. Sehr gut ausgestattet, sehr schöne Möbel, super Lage, alles sauber, alles Tip-Top.

Man kommt gut zu allen möglichen Sehenswürdigkeiten hin, gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und trotzdem sehr schön ruhig.

Abends auf der Terasse mit einem Gläschen Wein (oder auch zwei) den Sonnenuntergang bestaunen und das Meer bewundern.

Das war La Palma Urlaub, wie ich ihn wieder haben möchte. Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen.

Una fantástica elección

Nos ha encantado la estancia en la casa Mango im sambal, tiene todo lo que necesita para disfrutar con comodidad de una estupenda estancia. La casa es cómoda y fresca, bien decorada y detallista. El exterior es fabuloso, la piscina y el jardín resultan muy relajantes y no echamos nada en falta para sentirnos muy bien. Estuvimos una semana y se nos pasó volando. Bien situada, tranquila y confortable. Nos gustó especialmente el cuidado por los detalles y el entorno. Nos sentimos muy bien atendidos por Andrea, que fue muy atenta con todo.Saludos para ella y gracias por todo. Repetiremos en el futuro.

Wunderschöner Urlaub

Wir haben uns vom ersten Tag an in dieser wunderschönen Finca sehr wohl

wohl gefühlt. Sie ist sehr stil-und liebevoll eingerichtet und es mangelt an nichts.

Abends haben wir gegrillt, uns am aufgewärmten Pool ausgetobt und wenn es kühler war im Wintergarten aufgewärmt. Unser Sohn freute sich dass er seine

Kindersendungen auf deutsch im Fernsehen schauen konnte oder wir haben uns Hörbucher aus der Musikanlage angehört und es uns auf dem Sofa gemütlich gemacht. Morgens genossen wir den wunderschönen Ausblick auf El Paso und das Meer. Die Umgebung ist dort wunderschön. Man ist in 20 min am Meer oder kann Wanderungen unternehmen oder in die heimliche Hauptstadt fahren. Der Ort El Paso bietet alles was man braucht: Supermarkt, Bioladen,

Kuchen, super Restaurants und einen Bauernmarkt am Wochenende.

Wir haben jeden Tag was unternommen und die Insel erkundet.

Die Insel ist sehr abwechslungsreich und wunderschön. Auch die Entstehung der Insel ist sehr interresant. Wir würden gerne einmal wiederkommen wenn unser Sohn größer ist um uns noch mehr anzuschauen. Und wir würden uns nur

für diese Finca entscheiden. Auch dank dem sehr netten Vermieter der uns mit

seinen Ratschlägen sehr geholfen hat.
