The villa "Casa Rosa" is built on 16 acres of olive groves - a holiday oasis that invites you to dream.

Come and swim at the big 12m x 6m pool and relax afterwards on the comfortable sun beds.

The villa sleeps 6 people in 2 double rooms and 1 twin bedroom, all with en suite bathrooms.

These three rooms have separate entrances opening on to the cloistered main terrace.

There are 2 further den-like twin bedrooms, sleeping 4 more in the lower floor, with a shared bathroom. These 2 rooms have a separate entrance below the house.

There is a further ensuite double bedroom below the swimming pool, opening towards the pool area.

The property is equipped with air conditioning for the hot summers and heated terracotta tile floors and central heating for the cooler winter months.

The Casa Rosa is entered through the baronial style front doors, which give a striking first impression of the open plan sitting and dining room and is the central hub of the house.

This perfect space, designed by the renowned and admired Spanish architect, Cesar de Leyva, comprises a generous and welcoming room, lit from 2 levels by clerestory windows set above the French doors.

These in turn lead out on to the Roman style colonnaded terraces, rill and swimming pool beyond.

The interplay of light and shadow with the water, gardens and patio reference the glories of the Alhambra.

The gardens are lovingly created with the help of landscape architect and a team of dedicated gardeners. The villa is surrounded by 16 hectares of land planted with olives, almonds, oranges, figs, pears, pomegranates and grapes.

How wonderful to start your morning with freshly squeezed orange juice and fresh fruits from the garden!

The house is built largely on a plane, which enables physically handicapped and elderly people to fully enjoy their vacation.

It is furnished in an unusually high standard, with attention to details, selected antiques, paintings and books, to make you feel home from the beginning.

A Vacation Home Of Our Dreams

Our family of ten, including 3 grandsons ages 8 -10, just enjoyed 16 days at Casa Rosa ending June 18, 2016. Everything about the premises was top-notch. The beautiful estate, situated in an olive grove, provided wonderful rooms, patios and grounds for relaxation and our entertainment. The large pool was definitely the favorite location for the youngest grandsons, but the tennis court, den and lawn also attracted them. The kitchen was fully equipped and very nicely stocked with the items we have often had to purchase upon arrival. It was a pleasure to find the local olive oil and vinegar, spices, paper products, coffee, tea, sugar and other items already in place. Each bedroom had its own bathroom and was designed to provide maximum privacy. We especially enjoyed finding new places on the porches and covered patios to eat our meals in shade and comfort. The house is so well constructed that we never had to use the air-conditioning in the kitchen, dining room, living room or den. I believe the separate air conditioning units in each of the bedrooms were only used about half of the nights.

The village of Periana, located about 2 km away, is delightful. It had two well stocked grocery stores, ample bars and restaurants, and several small parks with gorgeous views over the countryside and Lake Vinuela. About 25 minutes away is the smaller village of Alfarnatejo. In the opposite direction, Comares is perched on the top of a mountain, only about a 45 minute drive. Both towns are little jewels with at least two good restaurants.

We also used Casa Rosa as a base for day trips to Nerja, Malaga, Granada and other destinations. All very doable.

The kind assistance of manager, Sara Bright, and the special meals, including paella, prepared by Diana, also added to our conclusion that our Spanish Holiday at Casa Rosa was the best of our summer vacations in Europe.

Villa Rosa A Week Away from it all

We loved every minute and were only sorry we couldn't have spent a bit more time there.

It is truly, as I think I read on the web site, a 'home' and not just a holiday rental.

We also loved our frequent trips into Periana where all the locals we met could not have been more friendly and were happy to put up with our attempts to communicate in Spanish. Or should that be Spanglish!

I would also have to give a mention to Isidro and his gang of happy gardners. He was a great help in fixing a broken light on the terrace and giving us some helpful tips on what was in the garden and all of the fruit trees. How they all managed a full days work when the temperature was at least 35C is beyond me, even refusing a drink of no more than a bottle of water when offered!

A great place to just sit and relax in real luxury.

In nearly 30 years of staying in villas all over Europe this was the nicest. What more can I say really? I've never stayed anywhere where I wouldn't change the decor, the furnishings anything...... good communcations and really want to keep it a secret.... we never return but I think we will.

A fantastic place for families and tennis players

We loved our stay at Casa Rosa. We are a family with grown up kids and everyone could find their own thing, playing tennis, table tennis, chess and more. Grandma loved going around in the garden, taking care of the flowers. The pool is big and if you like to swim you can do that. The estate is in the middle of an olive plantation and there are many small roads you can take a walk on.

The village Periana is situated up in the mountains about 4 kilometers from the estate It's nice and you can find the things you need and it's not so many tourists.

You need to have a car so you can do excursions in the area. We went to Alhambra which is well worth a visit but you have to book tickets in advance. With car it's easy to go down to the coast within about 25 minutes.

There are six bedrooms and three of them are excellent one is more than ok and two is in the cellar which was less than ok. The kids had no problems sleeping there but if you are a company of six pairs the standards of the rooms are very different. All bedrooms was ensuite except the ones in the cellar which shared a bathroom. It was good standard in all bathrooms.

The estate is very much a place were you feel the owners touch, it has a great atmosphere . You feel that you are visiting someones home. The big room is nice to sit in and relax in and if you need, eat at the big table. The kitchen is well equipped and you can find all things you need for cooking like spices and oil. People leave things they haven't used up. On the patio you spend most of the time, just relaxing, reading.

If you have the possibility, have a tapas evening, it was great. Our local host was very nice and helped us a lot, just call her.

We enjoyed every minute and we will come back if we are going to Andalucia again.

Luxuriöses Haus in toller Landschaft

Einer der schönsten Urlaube, die wir verbracht haben! Das Haus liegt abgeschieden und ruhig in toller Landschaft. Das Anwesen bietet viele Rückzugsmöglichkeiten, die einen entspannten Urlaub auch mit mehreren Personen garantieren. Die Ausstattung des Hauses ist hervorragend. Geschirr, Bestecke, Kochutensilien sind üppig vorhanden. Der Pool ist wunderbar groß und mit vielen Liegen ausgestattet. Die Bilder der Räumlickeiten entsprechen absolut der Realität. Die einzelnen Räume sind geschmackvoll und persönlich eingerichtet. Wir haben von der Möglichkeit Gebaruch gemacht und uns Tapas vor Ort frisch von Antonio zubereiten lassen. Es war ein wunderbarer Abend mit andalusischen Köstlichkeiten. Absolut empfehlenswert! Der nahegelegene Ort Periana (ca. 10 Autominuten) bietet mit zahlreichen Restaurants, Läden und kleinen Supermärkten alles, was man braucht. Nach Velez Malaga und Torre del Mar fährt man ca.30 Minuten. Die Concierge Sara steht einem mit Rat, Tat und guten Tipps zur Seite. Wer einen luxuriösen Urlaub in ruhiger Umgebung verbringen möchte, ist hier sehr sehr gut aufgehoben!

This property is located next to a beautiful valley tucked in the hills, just 20 minutes walk down the hill from the center of Periana, an hour's drive from Malaga airport, little more than an hour from Granada airport and 25 minutes from the sea. The historic market town of Velez Malaga is half an hour away down the hill towards the sea. The area is a thriving fruit and olive growing region of the award-winning olive oil produced. Periana is 547 meters above sea level, with a beautiful view of the lake and the coast. It is surrounded by a beautiful mountain panorama. Periana has all the amenities you need - supermarkets, banks with ATMs, medical center, library with internet access, hair stylists, etc. The market takes place on Wednesday morning and is a great place for fresh fruits and vegetables, clothing and footwear at competitive prices and buy all sorts of other objects. The city has its own olive oil. The 'Periana Extra Virgin Olive Oil' is also known as' Periana gold 'and is famous for its quality. Small, decorative bottles are sold in the cooperative and is a nice souvenir from the region. Festivals throughout the summer will be at least one in every village fiesta in honor of their patron saints and local produce such as grapes, gazpacho, almond and snails are available for tasting. Periana has several festivals throughout the year. The patron saint of San Isidro is Periana, honored mid-May in a three-day festival - the climax takes place in a 10-hour procession, the first clock at 5 am and ends of his statue is carried in by the whole village. The surrounding countryside is famous for its peaches and 'Dia del Melocotón' (Day of the peach). This takes place on a Sunday in August and is celebrated with a culinary competition. All recipes must include peaches. An art competition takes place on the same day.. The 'Feria' is usually on the last weekend in August, where the funfair lines the main streets, with flamenco singing and dancing all night. The fair usually ends with the Fiesta Festival foam, where an entire street is filled with foam - great fun for the entire village! Hiking - Periana is a perfect area for walking. In the countryside around the village there are numerous hiking trails. You can enjoy the magnificent views of the lake and the sea. Numerous birds live in this area with frequent sightings of Hoopoe, Golden Oriole, owls, finches, swallows, Martins and Bonelli's eagles. In spring, the lagoon at Fuente de Piedra, only about an hour's drive away, is home to hundreds of flamingos. Golf - there is an 18-hole golf course about 40 minutes away near the coast
