Poor quality design and apartment facilities

We - a family of 4 - stayed mid-August 2016. I had been meaning to post a review. Then I saw the review before mine, and the owners' response, and I felt I should post our experiences.

We have spent the last 7 summers in Ibiza, so we do know what is on offer in the island.

I spoke with the owner as we left about the deficiencies of the apartment, which he recognised.

First, good points:

- pretty good location, lovely view. On the side of a steep incline from which you can walk down to the beach, but in practice you'll take your car since the climb back is spectacular! - you need a car to get here in the first place, like most of the island.

- Aircon in the rooms :)

Not so good points:

- Design (1): the "outside kitchen" is totally impractical, plates in the bathroom, and no hot water in the sink, which does indeed drain across the floor of the terrace, and into the earth. You really don't want to wash anything greasy here.

- Design (2) The humidity from the aircon units on the roof drips to form a puddle in the walkway to the apartment.

- Design (3) as advertised, you have to walk up about 75 steps, round the back of the apartment, to actually get in.

- Design (4) the "outside kitchen" electricity is open to the elements, and there is one lightbulb hanging over the sink.

- Maintenance (1): very old towels and bed linen. As mentioned previously by another reviewer, we were given another set, but still very old and tired. We ended up buying our own.

- Maintenance (2): the plastic in the "outside kitchen", the bin and on the fridge, is broken doue to the heat and humidity.

- Maintenance (3): the inside door handle kept falling off. No fun when it drops on your foot!

- Maintenance (4): broken drawer in main bedroom

- Maintenance (5): broken inside lock on bathroom

- Maintenance (6): dirty toilet with incrusted dirt, we managed to shift a lot of this, but not what you expect.

Overall the feeling was of a campsite, not an apartment. The level and quality of equipment is not what you would expect to find for this price point.

Additionally, while we were there, contractors were painting furniture & doors for the owners' apartment directly below, which created a lot of unpleasant fumes which rose up into the apartment.

The owners are very pleasant people, but objectively they need to invest the income from the rentals to make the property more habitable and comfortable.

As a result of the above, I cannot recommend this apartment in its current state.

Close to shelter - Kilimajaro fifty five not the apartment!

Not a pleasant experience. This place is very different from the beautiful pictures that advertised the apartment. Here are the pros and cons.

Pros: outstanding location, private street, wonderful beach nearby, also it is conveniently located near restaurants and grocery stores. It has many small and expensive features throughout. The owners are very pleasant people who really charm you!


1) worn out, torn bed linen and towels (it was very disgusting to see pillows, blankets, towels, and fitted sheets with stains all over from previous users) Somebody used it heavily!! The owners have washed it before we arrived as we could smell the detergent; however, the condition of the linen was much worn out. Then we asked to replace it, the owner offered to exchange it. Unfortunately, the new ones were the same condition.

2) Bathroom: heavy mold on both sliding doors of the shower with strong odor. Dirty toilet and rugs are in the shower room.

3) The most of the kitchen equipment was located in a bathroom (There was a small closet where it all was stored). Can you imagine to take all plaits and silverware every morning from a smelly bathroom?! The condition of the equipment was Ok, but both coffee maker and teapot were very dirty inside out (there was heavy white stain on the inside which deemed it impossible to use.)

4) The refrigerator is very small , dirty, and has cracks everywhere. It hardly fit a day's worth of food.

5) Floor plan is not suitable for a family: dining area, family area and kitchen are located on the outside part of the "house". Instead of a proper sewage system, all the drainage in the kitchen sink spills out on the kitchen floor right there in front of you!! A small double burner range for a stove sometimes works sometimes doesn’t.

6) Most of the light bulbs outside in the kitchen area don’t work, so cooking is impossible after dark.

Additionally, our privacy was not respected: the owners ordered some services during our stay, and a construction worker constantly walked in an out of our residential area during his work. The dirt was spilled everywhere on the floors. He didn't clean it properly. We had to clean up ourselves.

We took several pictures of this "wonderful" place that we were brought to as opposed to what we were promised. The real quality of this stay was closer to a shelter conditions not the apartments!

Owner's Response: This were the most horrible guests we ever had! They are just lying. Non of this is true. We only have super happy guests. And this since many years. I don't know which problems they have but about 60 positive reviews on different platforms let us know, that we make everything correct and that our apartment is super clean and beautiful. The apartment was left super super dirty by the guests.

Hermosa vista desde la terraza

Es de destacar la vista que se tiene de la Bahía de Cala Longa desde la terraza del departamento, es espectacular. Pero hay que advertir, tanto para la familia con niños como para los adultos mayores, que hay muchas escaleras, ya sea para subir al departamento desde la calle ( más de 70 escalones) y para ir a la playa (más de 120), que puede ser dificultoso.

Asimismo, la cocina (un anafe con dos hornallas eléctricas) se encuentra situado en el exterior del departamento, en un lateral del mismo sin techo. Los utensillos de cocina (platos, vasos, ollas, etc) estaban ubicados en un placard en el baño. En relación a las sábanas y toallas necesitan ser reemplazadas.

Super toll / Just amazing!

This year again!!

We loved the view. The beach is very near and the apartment is super. the outside kitchen is more than enough. the terace is a highlight. Lisa was a very nice host.

We can reccomend everything: the apartment, the beach, Cala Llonga and so on.

We reccomend a rental car.

Very nice apartment!!!!

We already booked the apartment for the next year!!

it was soooo nice last year!

The view is great, Lisa and Stefan are really nice and Cala Llonga is just perfect for us.

Not far away from Ibiza town, but really beautiful and relaxing also in the high season.

the sunbeds are 3 Euros, not like in platja den bossa, where you can also get them for 100 euros+

The outside kitchen has everything that we needed and the breakfasts with this view were just unbelievable.

See you soon again!!!!

Tornassi indietro, sceglierei sempre cala Llonga

L'appartamento dove ho soggiornato è a dir poco fantastico, in un luogo residenziale molto tranquillo. A 10 minuti di macchina dal centro di Eivissa. La casa, con una terrazza splendida, è ben attrezzata di ogni necessità. I proprietari sono gentili e super disponibili. In Cala Llonga oltre alla spiaggia ci sono tutti i servizi necessari ( bar, ristoranti, market) e i prezzi sono più bassi rispetto alle zone centrali.


Spero di tornare il prossimo anno.
