Anneke D'Arcy purchased this Cottage in 2006
Why Anneke D'Arcy chose Cap Estate
My daughter and I visited friends in several parts of the Caribbean and when we arrived on our first visit to St Lucia, we fell head over heals in love with the beauty of this tropical island, the warmth and welcoming reception we received from the islanders so we did not hesitate to return for a longer visit the following year. It was only natural to then during our second visit to St Lucia purchase this 'small but perfectly formed' cottage which we named D'Arcy and we have never looked back!
What makes this Cottage unique
Sipping a sundowner on Villa D'Arcy's verandah during sunset. Overlooking the 18 hole St Lucia golf course towards the Caribbean Sea We refurbished this house to a comfortable high standard without it losing its Caribbean character.

St Lucia Cottage Charm
Service and staff was very accommodating. The cottage is a bit dated and furnishings were a bit uncomfortable. Spiral stairs were a challenge and took some getting used to. Pool was very pleasant. Lots of barking dogs.
Another great stay in saint -Lucia

We have a wonderful time during our stay at Villa D’arcy
Villa D’Arcy was perfect for our family of 4. The cottage is not huge, but we spent most of our time there on the deck enjoying the sunsets or down by the pool cooling off. We have two teenage kids so our days were spent exploring the island. I highly recommend renting a car. Villa D’Arcy is in a quiet location, but there really isn’t much within walking distance. You will need to drive for dining and to buy groceries. One huge plus to Villa D’Arcy is Marietta, the house keeper. She was extremely nice and a huge help to us. She had prepared a delicious meal that was waiting for us on our arrival. She also prepared 3 more meals for us during our stay, all were excellent local dishes. Pigeon Island Park beach is a quick 5 min drive and very nice. There is an entrance fee but it’s worth is. Reduit Beach in Rodney Bay is very popular, but you get a lot of the cruise ship crowd and a lot of the locals hounding you to buy goods. I highly recommend exploring some of the beaches farther down the islands west coast. Anse Chastanet beach was very nice with probably the best snorkeling on the island. We drove there but you can also get boat taxis from Rodney Bay.
They only possible negative for our entire stay was each night there seemed to be a lot of dog barking. I’m not sure if they are strays or just neighbors pets, but every night at dusk they decided to let you know they were there. This has nothing to do with Villa D’Arcy, but something we noticed about the surrounding area. The two bedrooms have AC, so we just closed the windows and turned the air on so the dogs were not an issue then.
If you are looking for a nice comfortable cottage for 4 in a quiet neighborhood I would highly recommend Villa D’Arcy!!
A wonderful relaxing holiday in a lovely villa with glorious views across to the sea
We have a had a glorious week's break from the Winter at home in this lovely villa, recently redecorated and furnished to a high standard. It is light and comfortable and feels spacious and airy with the doors open to the verandah all day long, letting in the glorious views. It is very well appointed and has everything you need in the kitchen.
The beautiful verandah was the best place to be for us, watching the skies clear in the morning, the sun go down at night, or dozing after lunch in the shade - bliss! We felt truly transported to another world.
In just a week, we barely had begun to enjoy everything St Lucia has to offer but we had some great trips out exploring the island. We loved Pigeon Island, Smugglers Cove and Gros Islet locally and there is a great choice of places to eat. Soufriere in the south of the island is a lovely place to visit with chocolate plantations at Fond Doux and Hotel Chocolat, The Botanical Gardens and Sulphur Springs. There are many lovely towns, villages and beaches along the way which are on our list to visit the next time we come.
Courtesy of lovely Marietta, the villa was kept spotless and we were able to sample local cooking at its best. Altogether, a wonderful holiday and we would love to return sometime.
Dear Phil and Gill,
Thank you for your wonderful review and I really hope we may have the pleasure of hosting you on a return visit. Warm regards, Anneke
Stunning and romantic cottage at Cap Estate overlooking the fairways and greens of the 18 hole championship golf & country club and the Caribbean sea. The cottage is superbly located to take advantage of all the beautiful attractions the north of the island has to offer. Only 7 minutes drive from Rodney Bay where you can find the best restaurants, bars and nightlife as well as the Caribbean sea beaches from Le Sport to Pigeon Point and the beach along the Atlantic Ocean at Cotton Bay, known by locals as Cas en Bas.
