About Anneke D'Arcy

With my 25 years of experience in short term lettings and property management, I feel I am ideally qualified to make your stay in our holiday home in St Lucia relaxed

and comfortable. Many of my guests have returned regularly over the years giving me the assurance that I give an efficient, professional and friendly service.

Anneke D'Arcy purchased this cottage in 2006

Why Anneke D'Arcy chose Gros Islet

My daughter and I visited friends in several parts of the Caribbean and when we

arrived on our first visit to St Lucia, we fell head over heals in love with the beauty of this tropical island, the warmth and welcoming reception we received from the islanders so we did not hesitate to return for a longer visit the following year. It was only natural to then during our second visit to St Lucia purchase this 'small but perfectly formed' cottage which we named D'Arcy and we have never looked back!

What makes this cottage unique

Sipping a sundowner on Villa D'Arcy's verandah during sunset.

Overlooking the 18 hole St Lucia golf course towards the Caribbean Sea

We refurbished this house to a comfortable high standard without it losing

its Caribbean character.

Guestbook comments from the manager

I had a very enjoyable time in Saint Lucia and the Villa in Cap Estate. No complaints here and only glad I was so lucky to be able to vacation in such a beautiful country and setting. Note, we loved having the barbeque so thank you very much for supplying that; much appreciated. All staff and housekeeper Marietta were very nice as well. We really enjoyed Reduit Beach and the grocery store nearby was very good too. The kitchen villa was well equipped which we appreciated as we cooked all of our own meals. Having the rental car delivered to the house was very nice too. All in all, thank you very much and a very nice stay.

Kindest Regards,

A wonderful relaxing holiday in a lovely villa with glorious views across to the sea

  • 5 of 5

We have a had a glorious week's break from the Winter at home in this lovely villa, recently redecorated and furnished to a high standard. It is light and comfortable and feels spacious and airy with the doors open to the verandah all day long, letting in the glorious views. It is very well appointed and has everything you need in the kitchen.

The beautiful verandah was the best place to be for us, watching the skies clear in the morning, the sun go down at night, or dozing after lunch in the shade - bliss! We felt truly transported to another world.

In just a week, we barely had begun to enjoy everything St Lucia has to offer but we had some great trips out exploring the island. We loved Pigeon Island, Smugglers Cove and Gros Islet locally and there is a great choice of places to eat. Soufriere in the south of the island is a lovely place to visit with chocolate plantations at Fond Doux and Hotel Chocolat, The Botanical Gardens and Sulphur Springs. There are many lovely towns, villages and beaches along the way which are on our list to visit the next time we come.

Courtesy of lovely Marietta, the villa was kept spotless and we were able to sample local cooking at its best. Altogether, a wonderful holiday and we would love to return sometime.

We have a wonderful time during our stay at Villa D’arcy

  • 5 of 5

Villa D’Arcy was perfect for our family of 4. The cottage is not huge, but we spent most of our time there on the deck enjoying the sunsets or down by the pool cooling off. We have two teenage kids so our days were spent exploring the island. I highly recommend renting a car. Villa D’Arcy is in a quiet location, but there really isn’t much within walking distance. You will need to drive for dining and to buy groceries. One huge plus to Villa D’Arcy is Marietta, the house keeper. She was extremely nice and a huge help to us. She had prepared a delicious meal that was waiting for us on our arrival. She also prepared 3 more meals for us during our stay, all were excellent local dishes. Pigeon Island Park beach is a quick 5 min drive and very nice. There is an entrance fee but it’s worth is. Reduit Beach in Rodney Bay is very popular, but you get a lot of the cruise ship crowd and a lot of the locals hounding you to buy goods. I highly recommend exploring some of the beaches farther down the islands west coast. Anse Chastanet beach was very nice with probably the best snorkeling on the island. We drove there but you can also get boat taxis from Rodney Bay.

They only possible negative for our entire stay was each night there seemed to be a lot of dog barking. I’m not sure if they are strays or just neighbors pets, but every night at dusk they decided to let you know they were there. This has nothing to do with Villa D’Arcy, but something we noticed about the surrounding area. The two bedrooms have AC, so we just closed the windows and turned the air on so the dogs were not an issue then.

If you are looking for a nice comfortable cottage for 4 in a quiet neighborhood I would highly recommend Villa D’Arcy!!

Great Stay - batteries fully re-charged

  • 5 of 5

A charming old Caribbean cottage situated in the middle of the Cap Estate near Rodney Bay. Villa D’Arcy retains the open feel of a traditional island home but has been thoughtfully updated with AC in the downstairs bedrooms – which was a relief during our stay, because it was unseasonably hot for September (38C, 100F). This is good news for off-season visitors and less rain means less mosquitoes.

We were greeted by Marietta who is an absolute treasure. She kept the place spotless during our stay, cooked us some great Creole meals, provided fresh mangoes and banana muffins for breakfast, peeled some fresh aloe and put it in the fridge for our sunburn. We really did not want to come home.

We rented a car and would recommend you do the same. The roads are very easy to drive on but can be a bit agricultural in places, so look out for pot holes. The drive from Hewanorra Airport takes about an hour and 15 minutes and you get a good look at the various parts of the island on the way.

Rodney Bay is about a 7-minute drive from the cottage and has everything you need, three supermarkets that all sell familiar brands and great local produce. The restaurants in the marina are also well worth a visit there’s ‘Cafe Ole’ for lunch, great Sushi at ‘Rituals’ and the ‘Bread Basket’ does a great Roti (lots of locals enjoying it too). The fine dining at ‘The Cliff’ (at Cap Maison) and ‘TAO’ (at the LeSport BodyHoliday Resort) were both highlights.

A great holiday in peaceful location, batteries fully recharged.

Great stay in a small but lovely cottage.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a wonderful week in this small but beautiful cottage. The location was great, we particularly enjoyed Smugglers cove beach, The Grill and Naked Fisherman at Cap Maison. Marietta the housekeeper was excellent, the cottage was kept extremely clean and she made us a delicious fish dinner one evening. I would have no hesitation in booking this cottage again.

Lovely 2nd stay in St Lucia!

  • 5 of 5

This was my 2nd visit to St Lucia and this time I chose this lovely self catering cottage. With a rented car I had much more freedom to explore the island then during my previous trip when I stayed in a hotel. Also I enjoyed shopping at local shops and trying local food.

The cottage is well maintained, tastefully decorated and has a small swimming pool. Air conditioning in the comfortable bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. Maidservice means that there is no cleaning to do and a welcome meal upon arrival.

The living room continuous on to a large veranda with an amazing view.

We visited a number of beautiful beaches, but the highlight of the week was for me climbing the Piton mountain! A great challenge followed by a bath in the sulphur pool to ease the sore muscles. Lunch at the famous Hotel Chocolat restaurant was great after the climb. All dishes containing chocolate but not sweet.

The owner provided good customer service and answered all my questions before booking

I certainly recommend this property where I felt very comfortable and at home.

Amazing stay at Villa D'Arcy!

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our stay at Villa D'Arcy. St. Lucia is a very picturesque island, and the villa made it even more special. The views are so nice and the setting is so tranquil. It is very private, quiet and peaceful. A perfect place to escape. The pool is a nice bonus. It very much added to the relaxing experience.

The villa is well appointed and we quite liked the decor. It was very clean and comfortable. We had the doors to the patio open everyday, adding to the ambiance. The kitchen is well appointed and made making the odd meal enjoyable. We felt quite at home. And Marietta is wonderful. We truly enjoyed getting to know her and appreciated her hard work and cooking!

We have told many people about the place and hope to return again ourselves.
