Fox Den Cabin is a family run vacation rental in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. Our entire family was born and raised in Luray, Virginia. We take pride in providing you with a great vacation experience and a clean, cozy place to call home whenever you visit the Shenandoah Valley.
Erik purchased this Cabin in 2005
What makes this Cabin unique
The cabin has a rustic feel, but is just modern enough to provide you with all the amenities of home. The property is bordered by rock walls dating back to the late 1800's. Years of hard work was put into rebuilding the walls as you see them today.

Great owner, property, and location!
First off, Erik (the owner) was so accommodating to our needs and questions. Really went above and beyond to help me organize our weekend trip!
The cabin is so wonderful! Easy to find, easy access to food markets, gas stations, restaurants, coffee shops, but you still feel like you are in a private secluded area. Very quiet and relaxing. Upon our arrival we heard charming singing bells far off in the distance, right before sunset and that was just magical! The front porch is huge, with a delightful swing to enjoy your morning coffee while you gaze over the well maintained front yard! The side porch provides a charcoal and gas BBQ pit and large picnic table. There is a nice size stone fire pit behind the cabin! Our dogs loved running all over and fetching on the huge grassed yard!
Inside, the cabin has brand new upgraded wood flooring in the living room, with brand new sofa and reclining love seats to enjoy the view from the huge picture window overlooking the front lawn. Our favorite feature was the record player with the fantastic selection of vinyl country classics. We played some great classics while BBQing outside, or getting ready in the morning! The kitchen was well stocked!
The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of hot water and clean towels and linens. The cabin is heated by baseboard heating, which has individual controls for the living spaces, which was nice, and a wonderful gas fireplace in the living room for added toasty warmth for the evening! The entire cabin was superbly clean, and lots of useful travel and sight seeing information.
Location was great for all the entertainment the National Parks had to offer, and every single local we met was so friendly. We hiked the White Oak Run Trail, which had multiple waterfalls, great riverside places to relax, and breathtaking views! I have to say this little cabin was just the perfect get away for us and our dogs! Thank you Erik!
Beautiful cabin not far from amenities and places to visit. Had all the equipment needed. Would love to visit again
You will love Fox Den Cabin !!!
This was our 4th trip to the Fox Den Cabin. We are never disappointed. Just a great place to stay.

nice location...isolated but still close to town. only a few minutes from shenandoah np and close to luray country club (great course btw). cabin was clean and well kept.
only problem was that cabin was an absolute dead spot for cell service...no calls in or out. enjoyed the experience overall.
would come back again.
Best Christmas Gift Ever!
My husband "gave" me Shenandoah for Christmas, and my choice was to stay at "The Fox Den" - what a wonderful cabin! It was spotless clean, everything was in working order (especially the heat!), and I loved the fox theme carried out throughout the cabin. Also, I LOVED the Christmas decorations!! The assortment of condiments, spices, and even a few canned goods were a nice touch. My only suggestion: an iron and ironing board, as my husband needed to iron a shirt before we went to the Mimslyn Inn. Not a big deal though, he managed. (HA HA)
Thanx so much Erik for a wonderful stay. My husband and I both agreed, we KNOW where we will be staying next time in the Valley!! :p
Happy New Year --- Mary R-B
