Cozy, comfortable, convenient, charming
Wonderful cottage convenient to the Lower Town, the mountains, and the canal path. Beautifully maintained with modern amenities, yet charming historical cottage - it takes you to the Civil War era before you even step out the door!
History and Hiking
This very lovely and cozy cottage is in a perfect location for experiencing Harper’s Ferry history and hiking beautiful trails including the Appalachian Trail which is only steps away. The cottage is beautifully maintained and well stocked with all the supplies you need. We loved our stay here and will definitely return.
Peggy Dye House
The inside of the cottage was so charming and very well maintained and clean and they provided everything you need for your stay. Lots of outdoor seating areas (side patio, front porch, and back balcony). The only draw back for me was the exterior of the house and surrounding gardens need some TLC but it didn't keep us from enjoying the charming cottage.
sorry about that, landscaper was on vacation!
Adorable home is an amazing location!! Can't wait to stay again!
Beautiful historic home
We had a wonderful stay at the Peggy Dye house. The location was just perfect - we walked right out the door to lovely hikes on the AT and C&O, and to great history and museums. This historic home is very cute and had everything we needed, including a big yard that our dog loved and a grill and outdoor seating for summer barbecuing. What a special place!
Pretty little cottage
Very neat and tidy cottage. Very nicely remodeled to the 1830 period of the house. The ad was correct as to what was supplied. The owners left a lot of brochures that were helpful in deciding what to do. Picture did not reflect the actual outside appearance of the cottage. There is no river view at this time of year due to foliage. Stairs going up to the house are stone and I had some difficulty managing them. Overgrown bushes and trees were in the way. My husband is 6 feet and just cleared a few of the doorways in the house. The spiral staircase going up into the bedroom is narrow so please be careful
Pre-Civil War cottage is perched just above the historic 'lower town' of Harpers Ferry. Five-minute walk (downhill) to historic attractions, shops, restaurants, river sports, C&O towpath, hiking and biking trails, etc. Near historic Storer College buildings which served as generals' headquarters during Civil War. Bolivar Heights Battlefield less than two miles away, and renowned Maryland Heights hike starts just across the Potomac River footbridge.
