Moved to the awesome NC mountains from FL in 2003. We enjoy sharing our cabin in the woods.

Rick or Dana Cox purchased this cabin in 2008

Why Rick or Dana Cox chose Todd

The Boone/Todd area is probably one of the most beautiful areas in the USA. After living in Alabama and South Florida and traveling this great nation, I have come to love not only the scenery, but the friendliest people in the country.

What makes this cabin unique

3 acre lake with fishing, swimming and pedal boat rental on property. Three Top Creek is located on property and is a North Carolina stocked trout stream.

Quiet and peaceful getaway. Perfect place to get back to nature and relax

  • 5 of 5

I truly enjoyed my time at the Windwalker Cabin. It was remote enough that I couldn't see another home from the cabin which gave me the peace and quiet I was looking for. The cabin itself had everything I needed from, comfortable bed and linens, to a kitchen will all the cookware needed to prepare my own meals, and a nice outdoor space to soak in the sounds of nature and take in the starry nights. And it had what I didn't need/want as well. No cell service, no tv shows (tv with DVD player available if you must watch something), and no internet in the cabin (but wi-fi provided at Rick and Dana's house so I could check in when need be) The weather was perfect, didn't need AC or heat. Just left the windows open and ceiling fans spinning. Wish I could have stayed longer and can't wait to make it back there.

Cozy Cabin that has everything you need

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was perfect for my husband and I. We had everything that we needed. The decor was lovely. The pictures really dont do this place justice. The bed was very comfy and the water was hot. We enjoyed hiking the area and we had a couple fires at the fire pit. It was easy to find wood. We ventured out to Boone and had a blast. We shopped, ate, saw some sights, and went gem mining at Foggy Mountain Gem Mines. Melanies was delicious and definitely worth the wait. If you go to Dan'l Boone Inn make sure you are hungry. Everything we ate was delicious and the service was just as good. We didn't want to leave. We will definitely be back, and we can't wait to check out the other cabin Rick and Dana own, the Stargazer.

Quaint, charming, clean

  • 5 of 5

It was the second time we’d been here. It was just as impressive as the first time. It was rustic without going without things like TP, and electricity. Signal is spotty at best (at least AT&T is) but we didn’t go in order to check emails and do online bill pay so absolutely no loss to us. “Mr Beagle” was a precious little welcome party on day 2 as well lol! The cabin itself was clean, nicely stocked with linens, some dishes, cook ware and even spices. There were also some cleaning supplies. It means the world to us that it’s dog friendly, we simply wish Stargazer was too! Finally, it’s a pleasure to know that we’re doing business with a family instead of a company. Thank you Rick and Dana! We’ll be back again :)

Nice cabin in the mountains

  • 4 of 5

Cabin was very clean and we'll stocked with dishes, pots and pans, etc. Fire pit out back was nice. They have a pond on the property that you can fish at and catch trout. Be aware there is no satellite tv, so the only way of enjoying tv is with Dvds. The road up to the cabin has a lot of pot hole. But once you get to your cabin road it's fine. We will stay again. Thanks again for sharing your cabin with us!

The cabin was so cute and cozy! And equipped with everything we needed!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our little get away to this remote cabin! We didn’t have WiFi or service but it was okay because we got to spend time away from our phones for once! Regardless of the cold temperatures, the cabin stayed nice and warm! We wish we could have used the fire pit but the weather didn’t allow us to! Thank you so much for letting us enjoy your little cabin! WE WANT ONE! :)
