Just minutes away from many trendy boutiques and restaurants in Ledbury Road and Westbourne Grove, with alfresco dining at pavement tables in summer months. One of London’s main centres for antiques, with the famous Portobello Road market only 8 minutes walk. Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens also in easy reach by foot.

Small Sainsburys supermarket just round the corner, and Whiteleys shopping mall with multiplex cinema 8 minutes away on foot.

Bus stop just two minutes away - frequent buses to all parts of central London. Notting Hill Gate tube (Central, Circle and District lines)

Well-equipped flat with wireless broadband internet access, phone, TV etc - large fully equipped kitchen with double oven and microwave. Pretty little patio garden.

Couldn't have been much better

Quite wonderful: the neighborhood is upmarket, but the street is very quiet; access is easy (about 6 steps down, and 3 steps up at back of flat); multiple bus lines are a block or two away; a great pub is nearby (good beer and cider, and trivia night is fun), there are multiple restaurants along the shopping street (our favorite was Cote, but we wanted to try many others), and the original Ottolenghi's--now primarily a take-away deli--is 2 blocks away. The kitchen is well-arranged and supplied, the beds are comfortable, the house cleaner (a delightful woman who also welcomed us with the key when we arrived) comes once a week, the bathtub is deep with plenty of hot water, and there's a sweet patio in the back. Plus the owner is extremely charming and helpful.

Convenient location with easy transit access

For those travelers familiar with metro transport, this location is easy access to the rental as well as most every tourist attraction. Even if you are a first time subway/tube user, it can be mastered with just a few trips.

Val was most helpful with providing specific route instructions for transport from Heathrow to the end point, including the bus connections.

The trip from the airport requires 1 change of tube lines, and upon arrival at the Notting Hill Gate station, a choice of 3 bus lines to reach the rental. Even more convenient, the longest wait for a bus was 2 minutes; 3 stops later (about 3 minutes) and the exit to the apartment is completed.

The neighborhood is quiet and close walking distance to multiple restaurants, groceries, laundry, and pubs. Per the amenities listed, all the comforts of home are available.

Perhaps the only non-ideal set ups are:

1. The beds are 2 singles pushed together. For those couples, like us, who "spoon" each other at night, it will be a challenge as trying to snuggle in a single bed isn't easy.

2. There is no proper shower. The bathroom has a roomy tub with a hand held shower attachment. However, there are no protective shower curtains, and the front end of the tub where the faucet is located, standing is not an option. The staircase angles upward over the tub. We finally settled with a combo approach. Hair wash with the shower attachment, and a bath for the rest of the cleaning.

Val was most helpful in promptly answering all questions as well as giving tips for everything from shopping to restaurant recommendations. For any travelers who can expand their horizons beyond staying in the heart of city centre, I would advocate using this space. Note, we used the Oyster/Tourist 7 Day pass for zones 1 and 2. We certainly got our money's worth and more!

Best if you like baths

This property was really quite nice and the owner very attentive but it had one serious drawback. We found it very difficult to use the shower. It is located under the stairs and the slant of the stairs above takes up more than half of the vertical space for the shower.

Otherwise we enjoyed the easy access to multiple bus and underground stations.

I’ve been very careful in the description of the apartment to say that in the bathroom there is a bath tub and that it has only got a hand held shower attachment. It was never meant to sound that it was a walk in shower. I’ll talk to Homeaway and see what they suggest about different wording. Apologies. Val P.S. the tub is a full size one!

excellent location

An unusual garden-level flat - you enter through a nice size bedroom, which leads to an extremely well-equipped pleasant kitchen, a tiny sitting/eating area up three steps from kitchen and that opens onto a nice, private little garden area - would be wonderful in the summer. The host is most accommodating and looks after her guests in a very personal way. The neighborhood is architecturally interesting, has great bus service and heaven sent for foodies! Anna

A nice stay

Abbiamo trascorso un bel soggiorno in un appartamentino simpatico, confortevole e adeguato alle nostre necessità.

La posizione è tranquilla e priva di rumori e molto vicina a Portobello Road nel quartiere di Notting Hill.

Le fermate dei bus sono molto vicine e ci sono numerose linee per i collegamenti con la stazione metro di Notting Hill.

C'è una bella Chiesa Cattolica molto vicina dove abbiamo celebrato la Messa di Natale con cori suggestivi.

La proprietaria è molto gentile e disponibile per ogni necessità.

Perfect Location

This location was absolutely perfect for us. We took a very short bus ride to Notting Hill Gate station, and from there we were able to get to all parts of Central London quickly and easily, We had a very short walk to the grocery store, and we could walk to Portobello Market. The street is quiet, but it's within very easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. The host was extremely helpful with answering questions and making suggestions. Val is amiable and friendly and goes out of her way to ensure a pleasant stay.
