Unassuming Sophistication! Sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean from second floor master bedroom deck. Situated only 300 yards from private beach stairs leading to one of the quietest beaches on the island. Indulge in a bit of serenity while relaxing in the quaint English style courtyard. Enjoy the gentle, soothing sound of the ocean while you relax in this ''Quintessential'' Nantucket Beach Cottage.
Short gentle walk to one of the most SECLUDED, CLEAN, PRIVATE salt water beaches on the island.
This house is far enough from the crowds in Nantucket, yet closer to the supermarket and other services than most other outlying areas on the island. Bike paths will take you either to the picturesque village of Sconset or to the more than 80 miles of Nantucket beaches. The Tom Nevers area of the island features dense natural foliage, a surrounding ring of conservation land, expansive views and miles of secluded beaches. The higher elevation and gentle rises offer cooler breezes than the rest of the island.
For a truly memorable experience, take your four-wheel drive out to secluded Great Point to fish and see the best sunrise on the island!
Enjoy the numerous shops and restaurants, museums, library, art galleries as well as live theater and entertainment. You might even try a historic stroll or even a ghost walk at night! In town, at the wharves, you can sign up for fishing trips or join available bus, taxi or walking tours of the island.
Deck/porch/patio, BBQ-grill, outdoor shower, washer & dryer, dishwasher, microwave, coffeemaker, linens included, cable TV, VCR or DVD, high speed Internet, no pets, no smoking.

After having visited the island for over 20 years as a renter, we realized that Tom Nevers offered the best of Nantucket. The higher elevation and gentle rises offer cooler breezes than the rest of the island, with no mosquitos!
I hope all is well.
I wanted to let you know that we had a great week in Nantucket. We loved Great Point and cruised there with a jeep; I have never seen so many seals in my life in their natural habitat; we had great ice cream in Sconset and Nantucket town, did some trail walks, saw the sunset in Madaket, went to Jetties and Steps beach and saw all three light houses. The remaining time we spent in our favorite place – the 'house beach'.
Thank you for a great relaxing week – we will come back to Nantucket and bring our daughter along then.
I really appreciate all the hints and tips. Thank you again.
Wonderful home. Nice and clean and well equipped and decorated. Had a few days of adventure and a couple of just relaxing. Frank was very accommodating and responsive! Didn't have a car for the week and rented a car a couple of days. Not necessary as cabs are plentiful and quick but can be pricey if going out a lot. Would definitely visit again!!!
We enjoyed Nantucket island very much! And the cottage was perfect! The beach was beautiful and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony of the cottage at night listening to the ocean waves.
The guest house (cottage) presented exactly how it was pictured and marketed. The cottage was very clean, neat and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway to Nantucket including a beautiful view of the ocean from the second floor deck. Lots of bath and beach towels and plenty of seating inside and out for lounging and taking it easy. We truly enjoyed use of the outdoor shared courtyard, however in the evening when the sun went down, there was no outdoor lighting for that area that we could access from the guesthouse so bring candles or your own battery powered outdoor lighting to enjoy this cozy outdoor space in the cool breezes of the nantucket evening. Also there was no outdoor lighting by the driveway that was accessible to us from the guesthouse -- there was outdoor lighting by the driveway but we assumed it is controlled from light switches in the owner's main house which was empty during our stay. We improvised with our iphone flashlights as it is very dark on nantucket after the sun goes down -- great for star gazing, but not so great to see where you're walking. Would have provided a 5-star "excellent" review if not for the problem with the toilet flushing mechanism not functioning - which we temporarily and repeatedly had to fix and adjust ourselves with a paper clip during our stay, but was not resolved properly during our stay, and the lack of access to a bike tire pump for the bikes provided with the cottage -- although we were able to borrow one from a friendly neighbor. You will definitely need a car when staying in this cottage as it is a solid 10 minute drive by car outside of the main town of Nantucket. Overall a great little guesthouse in a quiet, off the beaten path neighborhood with close access to the beach.
Wonderfully peaceful location even in the super high season of mid-August. Easy and quick access to a fabulous beach which, thanks to Tom Nevers being a private estate, was never crowded. As the marketing description presents, even with resident seals!
The cottage is clean and well presented. The bikes and beach kit are a welcome bonus.
We were a family of 4 with children of 15 and 13. Everything worked out fine for us, however the size and lay-out of the house is best suited to a couple or a family of 3 to 4 with younger children.
For an active, older group no need for a car. By bike, Sconset (nearest shop) is 20 minutes Nantucket town around 30 minutes. With Frank's (the owner) recommendation the culinary highlight being the lobster supper take-out (delivered by taxi) from Sayles. A must-do, good value meal in an otherwise expensive restaurant environment.
Finally, a major reason we would return and definitely recommend to others is the owner - Frank Matarrazo. Frank was very helpful and responsive through the renting process (we were coming from Europe) and very attentive during our stay, eg the Sayles recommendation.
Overall, 4.5 stars review with the only point being the size/lay-out vs family size.
Our family of four including 2 kids, 9 and 7 had a great time. Kids enjoyed biking to the beach, which was very quiet and beautiful. Cottage was very clean and well maintained.
The three of us had a wonderful vacation on Nantucket. The cottage was exactly what we were looking for. Quiet area, beautiful breezes and nice beach. Thanks for the stay!
