Little River Cottage sits in the tranquil Huka Huka Toroa Reserve, the largest private covenant on banks peninsula. Sit on the verandah and lose yourself in the wonderful sound of the flowing stream and the sound of native birds in song.
Little river is the gateway to the peninsula, it's success lies in the secret valleys in its surrounds which entice people to come again and again, it's close proximity to the beautiful seaside town of Akaroa make it a great place to stay. The very popular little river rail trail finishes in the township and for the more adventurous the double fence line mountain bike trail is easily accessed from the little river cottage this means you can ride your heart out. Annual events like the Peninsula to Plate at the AandP show and the giant pumpkin festival draw people from all around the world. The township itself features an historic railway station home to the craft station cooperative which sells local produce, art and crafts there is also an internationally recognised art galley, cafe, store.
