About this property

The Rose Cottage is a lovely 2 bedroom holiday house with a fully insulated 2 bedroom sleepout. It has spacious living, across from a reserve in a quiet culdesac. The lounge opens through french doors into the front deck, with the deck, lounge and bedrooms offering expansive views over the reserve, golf course, and lake.

Spa pool at the rear ready and waiting for you! Great fireplace in the house to keep you toasty warm in the winter! Firewood provided. Newly carpeted throughout.

The large, flat section provides plenty of room for boat parking and tents. Fully fenced and safe for kids.
Fully setup house with BBQ, picnic table, washing machine, electric frypan, toasted sandwich maker etc. Freeview TV, DVD, stereo (CD player + 3.5mm input for MP3 players) - please note that there is no WiFi at this house (but the cellular reception is good).
Has an open front deck with a covered back deck.
There is a reserve out the front gate, with loads of space to play.
Pillows, duvets and blankets provided, please bring your own linen and towels (these can be provided at an extra cost if required). Please note that one of the single beds inside is a long single. Guests are expected to clean up before they leave, optional cleaning available $90 per stay.
This house is regularly Meth tested for your peace of mind.

Small amount of secure garage space available for storing bikes, water toys etc.

Lake Maraetai at your doorstep (fishing, skiing and wakeboarding).
M-I-A wakeboard/waterski/barefooting coaching available in Mangakino.
Bus Stop Cafe at the lake (great coffee and food).
Golf course just below the house.
Motocross track a few kilometres away. Close to Waikato River Trails (can walk/bike from the house to Whakamaru along the edge of the river without being on the road).
35mins to Taupo, 1 hour to Rotorua, 1 1/2 hours to skifields.

Great holiday home

Great location for a half way overnight pit stop to head south from Auckland. House has everything you need to survive while away. Great outdoor space for the dog to run around and being fully fenced is perfect Owner was easy to deal with and communicated well.

Perfect Family Base

We based ourselves here to go off and explore the geothermal area. It was fantastic to return to a quiet cottage and soak in the spa after a long day of activities. We originally chose it because we could bring our dog but decided not too since we weren’t going to be there during the day at all. Will come again.

Great holiday cottage

Just back from a relaxing week away staying in the Rose Cottage. Communication with hosts was prompt and check in easy and straightforward. House as described, and comfortable and clean. Lovely flat section, perfect for our friends to park their motorhome on and still room for croquet in the back yard. Also being fully fenced was great for our small dogs.Teens enjoyed their own space in the sleep out and made good use of the spa. Peaceful location, with lovely outlook. Enjoyed two rounds of golf, handy being just across the road. Good location, close to shops and lake reserve. Not too far to drive to Lake Taupo, we went for day trips to Whakaipo Bay, a truly stunning bay where dogs are allowed which was a real bonus.

What makes this property unique

I love this place because you can enjoy the awesome views over the reserve and golf course to the lake from either inside the house or relaxing on the front deck. In summer the roses out the front of the house are spectacular. In winter, the easy to light fire gives it a great, cosy feeling. A spa at the end of the day tops it off!
