After teaching for thirty four years and maintaining cars, airplanes and properties for even longer, we have retired to a life of creating 'home'(s)along the west coast and sharing with others. Our Port Orchard home is a keeper! When we are not working on a home, in a yard, or on the computer, we are enjoying grandchildren, traveling, reading, walking with friends or 'workng out' at the YMCA.
Lorraine Heng purchased this house in 1986
We love the ambience, especially the fresh air, forests, clear skies and the natural beauty of the Puget Sound area. It is a great place to take a deep breath, relax, enjoy nature, and explore the wealth of outdoor activities. Being removed from the huslte and bustle of major cities, yet still having easy access to Seattle and other favorites like Gig Harbor, Silverspring, Tacoma, and British Columbia has been an important consideration for us.
One chief advantage of staying here is the price: It is very inexpensive for what you get. Also, access to downtown Seattle via the ferry is simple, yet pleasurable with fantasstic scenery along the way. Best of all the house is clean, comfortable, well equipped and very peaceful.
My two sisters, niece & nephew arrived yesterday & I arrived tonight. It's wonderful Lorraine! We all love it. You've done a great job with this charming home!
I was pleasantly surprised when we came to the home late at night. I felt like I was visiting family. The house had all of the comforts of home in a great location. My kids loved the yard and the visiting deer, and I enjoyed the fact that we had space to breathe on our 3 week vacation. The owners were very accommodating and responsive to any questions. The home is within walking distance to downtown where you can eat, site see and shop. It's not a modern or new home, but very functional. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a literal "homeaway" on their upcoming vacation in the area. Thanks again!
very quiet and within walking distance to the downtown... the house was very clean and well kept .. did have a bit of a damp smell ..but could
keep the windows open and that helped ... the house is in a very convienient location .. we all had a great stay ...
Thank you Lorraine and Virgil! As we needed a place to stay for an extended time, this couple was very accomodating. The house was clean and comfy! A perfect place to visit with fam and friends! And thank you for letting Josh do the mowing to give him something to do!!
The house was great! The beds were comfortable and the house had everything we needed. The landlord kept the yard looking very pretty. We especially like the smart TV in the living room where you can watch Netflix and Amazon Prime Instant Video among other things. We were also very happy to find such a nice place that allowed us to have our dog with us.
The house is in a great location. We enjoyed walking down the hill to town and going to the public market. Our favorite was Carter's Chocolates in the market. The foot ferry is also right at the bottom of the hill and that was very convenient.
The views from the large windows in the house are very pretty. The back yard reminds me of a rainforest. There were several times we saw a family of deer grazing in the yard.
Thank you again for sharing this beautiful home with us. It was perfect for our 3 month stay while shopping for a sailboat.
We are a military family who needed housing for about 2 months while we waited to move into our home. This place fit our needs perfectly. It is well stocked and very spacious. The owners are helpful and quick to respond. It is located on a quiet street with very little traffic, yet close to downtown and 2 miles from Walmart and other shopping. Our kids enjoyed watching the deer and other wildlife from the back deck. We would recommend this to families or anyone else needing temporary housing.
