The main feature of this property is its superb large swimming pool and adjoining paddling pool as well as a beautifully shaded dining area with purpose built barbecue. There is also plenty of space for sun bathing around the poolside.

The property itself is on 2 floors with 3 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a spacious lounge area that leads out to a large balcony with views of the harbour down the road and swimming pool. Two more double bedrooms with adjoining bathroom on the ground floor have easy access to the pool terrace outside. The kitchen is of an open plan design with easy access to the outside terraces and includes a large dining area.

2 lock-up garages for vehicles are situated in the lower level of the building.

A great base for any holiday maker wanting to experience the Mediterranean life.

Excellent villa for a family holiday

We have just returned from 10 day stay at the villa. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by Tony and the chilled water in the outside fridge was much appreciated.

This is the best villa we have stayed in, it was well equipped with large quantities of crockery, cutlery, cookware and glasses. There was plenty of space both inside and outside for our family of 8 to spread out in and not be on top of each other, the good wifi connection an added bonus for the teenagers. The pool area was excellent and provided both sun and shade. The BBQ was put to good use cooking the fresh meat and fish purchased at the local supermarket. We also enjoyed evening drinks on the lounge balcony.

The villa is situated in an ideal location and within easy walking distance of the port area and the nearby beach of Cala Marcal. There are a wide range of restaurants however we did find that some of these had reserved tables so it is advisable to book in advance for the popular ones. There are lots of surrounding beaches to visit if you have a car.

We had a relaxing and enjoyable break in perfect surrounding. Tony and Marie are excellent hosts and provided a friendly but professional service.

We can’t wait to return !

Fantastic stay utilising the winning outdoor pool area and bbq

We had a wonderful stay in this villa where the standout feature had to be the pool and outdoor area. Great location within Portocolom to access the marina, beach, good restaurants and supermarket. The house has everything you need, a well loved family home. Thank you for a great stay!!

If chilling by the pool is your thing .... this is the place to come !

We were a party of 4 adults & 3 teenagers. The communication prior to our trip was 1st class with Tony answering all questions promptly & honestly.

We were picked up from the airport with no problem by Tony for a small fee and taken to the villa.

The outside area is what sold this holiday. The pool itself is large with a paddling pool adjoined. There are plenty of areas to sit and chill in sun and shade. The outside dinning area with BBQ is fabulous and we all sat into the early hours comfortably.

The villa itself is extremely spacious ... maybe a little dated... but who stays inside when the sun is shinning ? There was a slight issue with one of the toilets but this in no way spoilt the holiday. There is an enormous amount of cutlery, utensils etc in the kitchen ..... everything we needed we could find.

Porto Colum is a lovely small local Spanish town and a short stroll will take you to a beautiful harbour and lovely restaurants. In the opposite direction you will find a lovely sandy beach which wasn't too busy when we visited.

There are two supermarkets (one of which is a Spar) within walking distance that we visited daily and had everything needed.

To conclude, a beautiful part of Mallorca to visit if you want a local feel. A great villa with an amazing outside area to enjoy chilling with your family.

Fantastic property close to everything!

Wonderful family holiday - great villa in a perfect location

We spent a week in this gorgeous villa, just 10 minutes walk away from family-friendly restaurants and about 15 minutes walk from a lovely beach. We enjoyed many BBQs and the kids spent every day in the pool which was also perfect for my 3 year old as it has a little learner pool attached. Thank you Tony and Maria!

A Villa that offers a relaxing holiday

The villa was everything it stated and some in terms of the location and facilities if offered. Within a 5-minute walk you could be on the seafront or at the local shops. The restaurants in the immediate area were fantastic and offered a wide choice of freshly cooked food and all within minutes from the villa. We were a party of 10 and the villa offered a very relaxing place to sit by the pool, swim or one relax in one of the many well shaded areas in the garden. The villa was well stocked with plenty of cooking, crockery facilities. We also had access to the many fridges, even one at poolside, to keep food and refreshments cool. The bedrooms were very nicely decorated and furnished. All, bar one poolside bedroom had a/c, which offered a great way to keep cool and sleep at night, as weather was hot during our stay. Tony and his brother-in-law Toni were very helpful in keeping us updated and on arrival. One slight problem we had was fixed with minutes of reporting it. I would not hesitate in using this villa again, as we loved the area of Portocolom and what is has to offer. Thank you once again Tony and family.

Owner's Response: Les and his family were great clients, and really looked after our house. I would recommend them without doubt and hope that they can come and visit us again next year! We are hoping to install an a/c unit in the kids bedroom that has access to the pool in the very near future.

This fishing village, once the port for Felanitx, was named in honour of Christopher Columbus, who is said - without much evidence - to have been born here. Popular with Mallorcan and Spanish visitors and set inside a deep natural harbour, Portocolom still has the feel of a small fishing port, with boats around the quay and pastel-coloured houses lining the Waterfront, each with its own landing-stage.

The most popular beach of Portocolom is Cala Marcal which lies to the south of the marina and village. It is a blue flag beach with very soft sands and water that is fairly shallow and which gradually deepens. It stretches 500m along the seafront to the south of the town. The beach is ideal for families as the sand slopes into the sea and so there is plenty of space for children to swim and play.

Other beaches around the area near the harbour are S’Arenal Grand and S’Arenal Petit which you'll find on the peninsula looking back towards Portocolom. A bit further afield are the beaches of S’Algar in the north and Cala Sa Nau in the south.

Sa Llotja is one of Porto Colom’s finest restaurants and is located by the towns marina. Serving fresh fish and Mallorcan meat dishes the restaurant offers both ‘a la carte’ and also a weekly menu of chef’s specials.

The Florian restaurant along Calle Cristobal Colón also offers the freshest fish and meats from Mallorca in a friendly and welcoming environment.

Along the main road, Carre Vapor Santueri, into the Portocolom seafront is the modest and traditional restaurant of Es Pamboliet. Here they serve up traditional paellas and pa amb olis and other traditional Mallorcan dishes.

Both the Carrer Pescadors (fisherman’s street) and Carrer Cristofor Colom have many restaurants including Celler Sa Sinia which has been serving meals in Porto Colom for many years. The Restaurant Colón is a very friendly and welcoming restaurant with a great atmosphere.

Further afield from the main port are restaurants in the Bassa Nova Cala on the Ronda Creuer Balea such as the Restaurant Ses Portadores and the Es Retorn restaurants.

Named after Fidel Castro, the Fidel Club is one of Portocolom’s finest late night bars. Here you can relax and enjoy cocktails while marvelling over the original characteristics of the building. It has a laid back atmosphere and is located along the main road in town, the Carrer de Cristóbal Colón. La Costa on the far side of town has a large open terrace over looking the calas. The bar has an extensive range of cocktails and also serves dinner earlier in the evening. La Costa is located on Calle de los Sivines.

Scubadiving is a highly popular activity in Portocolom and the Mallorca Diving school offers PADI courses and guided dives around the beautiful calas in the east of Mallorca. Other activities the school offers are kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkelling and cave exploration. The diving school is located along one of the main streets Calle Pescadors.

Because the coastline is home to so many beautiful but isolated coves and beaches, consider taking a boat trip to explore Mallorca from the sea. The clear sea is great for snorkelling too.

If you like wine, why not visit some vineyards of the area? The Pla y Llevant region is on your doorstep and there are several vineyards open to the public for tastings and tours.

Just outside of Portocolom is the Vall D’or Golf Club on the carratera Cala D’Or. The golf club also has a pool, driving range, padel courts, restaurant and sun terrace. 18 holes of golf costs €112 during peak season and a padel court costs €15 for 1 hour.

Porto Colom’s main historical attraction is the Naveta. This is a prehistoric burial site where there is evidence of life dating back as far as 2000BC. Other sights in the area include the Sanctuary of Sant Salvador and Santueri Castle. Slightly further afield are some spectacular cave systems - to the north, you might want to try the Coves des Hams or the Cuevas del Drach, both in Porto Cristo.

When staying in Portocolom it is a great idea to hire a car to easily get around some of the other fantastic areas in the east - you could visit the Natural Park of Mondrago or the pretty sandstone village of Santanyi.
