About Maxine Stirk
I am a semi retired bit of everthing. I have worked with horses most of my life, mainly in National Hunt racing. My husband is a retired vet. I now dabble in breeding horses and teaching riding, plus writing for pleasure. I have 2 grandchildren who love buck House Farm and all the animals, as do the many children of family and friends who visit to enjoy the countryside and Floss the ancient springer spaniel who loves new visitors! I started the holiday lets in 2014 and really enjoy it (most of the time!). We have met some delightful and interesting guests and only a very few who we were glad to see the back of!
Maxine Stirk purchased this Lodge in 2006
Why Maxine Stirk chose Kirkby Malzeard
Buck House Farm is in a beautiful and unspoilt location. We have lived in the area all our long married life and brought our children up here. The farm is situated in its own little 'microcosm' and yet is not isolated in any way. At night you can hear the owls hooting and in the morning you can spot a heron by the river looking for fish. It is a bird lover's paradise.
What makes this Lodge unique
Rivers, fields, woods, real, unspoilt countryside. Stunningly beautiful and very accessible. A rural mini Eden.

Lovely quiet setting
It is as described,a spacious mobile home in a quiet setting. We had a really enjoyable time here, the garden is lovely to look out on with chickens and chicks pottering about, horses, dogs and a cat too ! Maxine is a super host.
Thankyou patsy and Pauline.
It was a real pleasure having you both and come again one day.
A quiet, relaxed, week away from the hustle and bustle of every day life.
I've always enjoyed the countryside. I wanted this week to be a real break for the three of us.
It turned out to be just that. The location is perfect. Isolated, yet close to Ripon. We walked into Kirkby Malzeard, and got the basics, enjoying the countryside, and sunshine. The cat, dog, and other farm animals make you feel at home, and the children enjoyed their surroundings.
Recommended for anyone who wants to get away from the hubbub of life. Will definitely be going back.
Immediately accustomed ourselves to the facilities, as this was our first time in a caravan. Felt like a home from home and Maxine and her family were very friendly. The Grandkids enjoyed the distractions of ponies, dogs, chickens and cat and were thoroughly pleased when invited to a pony and trap ride. Everyone enjoyed, as the farm and the surrounding area with it's attractions - has something for everyone. A big thanks and thumbs up. Ian, Lynn, Tess and the Grandkids.
It really was a pleasure to have you.
tickets arrived back safe and sound and thankyou for your very kind card.
come again one day!
