About the property

A beautiful house just 15 minutes from either the Skye Bridge or Armadale Ferry

Seawrack is a house suitable for up to 8 people although also well suited for smaller parties looking for a special break away in more spacious surroundings.

Seawrack stands just along the bay from Tides Reach, with which it shares parking (two spaces for each property), but retains its total privacy. Situated just yards from the shoreline, the house has the most incredible views across the Sound of Sleat to the mountains of Knoydart on the mainland.

There is a spacious open plan kitchen/dining room, comfortable sitting room with a wood-burning stove, two double bedrooms (one with an en suite with shower) and two twin bedrooms as well as further bathroom upstairs and a downstairs shower room.

The cottage is a short 5 minute walk from the Eilean Iarmain Hotel which has its own Pub, the Am Praban Bar which serves good food and has live music/ceilidhs most weekends. Meals can also be taken in the more formal setting of the Hotel Restaurant.

The Prabann na Linne Gaelic Whisky Company can be found next to the hotel along with the Floraidh Boutique Clothes Shop and the Tallah Dearg Art Gallery.

Cleanlines not to the standard when we last visited. Pet hate , black mould around showers .

The decking was very very dangerous, so slippery unable to use.

BUT

We Loved it loved it loved it, never wanted to leave , and will return.

Wonderful stay! Don't miss it!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for six nights at the magical Seawrack! From the moment we arrived, we knew it was perfect for us. Our group of four love a casual, cozy atmosphere and this cottage filled the bill! Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, short walk to the excellent Bar Am Praban, warm fires at night, nice big kitchen if you prefer to cook, comfy beds with great linens and a convenient base from which to observe this spectacular island! Mike was very accommodating and Stuart (the caretaker), quite helpful. What more can you ask?

Comfortable house in beautiful surroundings

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Seawrack. Very well designed house to take in the beautiful views. Well equipped in the open plan kitchen/diner. Enjoyed the walk to the lighthouse that can be seen from the house. Only possible when the tide is out!

We saw ducks, rabbits and a deer in the garden during our stay.

A great base if you want to explore Skye (we had many trips) or if you just want to relax in a beautiful environment.

Scenic views and Midges

  • 4 of 5

Sea Wrack was a beautiful property with magnificent views across the bay. The property was very well stocked with everything we might have needed but a garlic press and a steamer pan would have been useful.

Although the house was clean, a more thorough clean would have been valuable e.g. the master bedroom carpet was dusty, the small shower spray was mouldy and the balcony was very dirty. Also the patio and steps needed some cleaning and repair - we didn't use them during our stay. Finally the downstairs shower/w.c. Watch out for the towel rail, which becomes very hot when the heating is on. You could easily to burn your leg when using this room - a warning notice would be advisable.

So having provided this feedback you might think we didn't enjoy our stay and this would be incorrect. The house has a lovely ambience, very comfortable beds and armchairs/settees and we had a lovely relaxing week. My only real complaint concerned the Midges and these are unavoidable and deadly at this time of year so take plenty of repellent and fly spray!

The file of places to visit was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our submersible boat trip from Kyleakin. If you have time, we would definitely advise staying longer than a week due to the travelling time, but even with only a week we had a great time during our Skye visit. Here's to the next time.

Scottish perfection

  • 4 of 5

We all had a wonderful stay in the most beautiful setting. The house was excellent with ample room and everything that was needed for a very comfortable stay. Skye is such an incredible island with so much to see , so we will most definitely be back to see much more. The location of the house is a perfect . Thank you .
