Spacious beach side, retro-inspired apartment with undercover parking and lift

Set within exclusive Castle Drive, this stylish, one double bedroomed apartment with super-king bed, ensuite with shower and dressing room is incredibly well located overlooking the sea. Just moments from the beach, five minutes walk to Falmouth Docks train station (connecting to Falmouth University) and a short stroll to Falmouth town and harbour-side Hamilton Place is in a brilliant position.

Recently redecorated, the apartment has a stylish and eclectic mixture of mid-century, Danish influenced and modern furniture with many original pieces such as Heals, G Plan and Conran with china and glass including Holmegaard and Figgjo Flint. There are authentic, vintage soft furnishings by Jonelle and Heals and original mid-century artwork as well as work by contemporary local artists. With central heating and modern appliances the apartment is well equipped for a very comfortable stay all year round.

Hamilton Place is in an incredible position, situated at the far end of the seafront with spectacular views overlooking Castle Beach and Falmouth Bay. Close to the historic Pendennis Castle and its grounds, it is one of only seven in a purpose built block with private undercover parking space and lift.

LAYOUT

The apartment is situated on the second floor and assessed via a lift or stairs, adjacent to private, undercover parking. The lift has a key entry (and video remote door release within the apartment), it opens beside number 3 on a landing serving just two properties.

The front door of the apartment opens into a hallway with doors off to the bedroom with ensuite, on the left and dressing-room straight ahead.

The bedroom has a Super-King Vi-Spring bed (or 3' twins if preferred), contemporary Heals furniture and original vintage accessories and soft furnishings. There is also a Pure DAB radio and a telephone. The bedroom has a modern en-suite with shower, loo and handbasin.

The dressing room has matching G Plan furniture, vintage soft furnishings and accessories from Jonelle. It provides plenty of extra space for those planning a longer stay.

The hallway leads on to the bathroom and through to a modern kitchen, open-plan dining area and sitting-room with stunning sea-views from everywhere! The kitchen is newly installed and has a good range of modern appliances and fittings. If you fancy cooking a meal instead of eating out at one of Falmouth's many restaurants, the kitchen has the appliances and equipment you would expect to find at home.

The sitting/dining-room has defined areas with a mixture of contemporary and original mid-century furniture, vintage furnishings and local artwork, as well as other interesting pieces of design. There is a good internet connection and wifi at the apartment as well as a USB adapter for charging devices, modern Smart TV, DVD player and a Mission Aero Bluetooth speaker which can be paired with your own smart devices such as iPods, phones and tablets.

But it's the truly breathtaking views that "steal the show" from this open plan space and there is something to see or excite whatever the weather! Fabulous deep blue sea and sunshine or lashing rain and a howling gale, it's the perfect place to settle down and watch the world go by.

John and I both grew up in Cornwall, we know and love the county and all that it has to offer. Our children attend school locally and we take an active part in our community so are well placed to discuss areas of interest and things to do nearby. John has had a property business in Falmouth for over 25 years and I work as an artist and teacher.

We also have holiday cottage in Godolphin Cross, Helston which is decorated in a vintage style with mis-matched china and has a very pretty garden with stream and lots of bird life. If you would prefer a cosy retreat that accepts dogs this might be the place for you.

We bought the apartment many years ago because of its unbeatable position and views. We enjoy using it ourselves and are uplifted and excited whenever we visit.

What makes this apartment unique

Fabulous front row position, away from the busier section of the seafront, set up high enough to afford a wonderful view with considerable privacy. Castle Beach and the sea is a few seconds away and a nearby footpath takes you on a glorious walk to Pendents Point and the English Heritage Site and grounds of Henry VIII's Historic Castle and fortification. A walk along the seafront joins the SW coastal path, passing Gyllyngvase, Swanpool and Maenporth beaches en route to the wonderful Helford River.

The closeness of Falmouth town and harbour means all is accessible on foot. Falmouth Docks train station (5 mins walk) gives easy access to Penryn and mainline Truro, from where day trips to Penzance and St Ives etc, are great fun.

An amazing apartment with stunning views and high spec decor. The owner is very thoughtful and on our arrival we found flowers, pastries, tea,coffee, milk and a bottle of prosecco. It's these thoughtful gestures that make staying in this apartment very special. A truly amazing place to relax and explore Falmouth and surrounding area from.

The owner goes to great lengths to ensure your stay is a problem free break.

The quality of the furnishings in a retro style is very high and you immediately feel at home and of course the view from the bay window is fantastic.

Overall my wife and I had a lovely relaxing time and are already looking to book again later in the year.

Fantastic views! Only stayed 3 nights; we have vowed to return for at least a week. Very quiet and comfortable apartment. Joanna always responded very quickly before and during our trip - we only had one concern. The washer did not work, but Joanna immediately had it serviced. Joanna provided tea (even my fav Earl Grey) and some danish for our arrival. Great location very near the train station and town is also a very short 10-15 minute walk. We would buy groceries and just stay in to enjoy the view for most meals. Wonderful town and stay!

This is one of the best apartments we''ve stayed in. The owner Jo personally welcomed us and ensured we knew all the important bits. The welcome goodies were well received. The apartment was furnished with an eclectic mix of styles that were very warm and comfortable. The most amazing thing about this apartment was the view. A panoramic view of the sea, beaches and all of Falmouth Bay. We spent hours gazing and watching the sea life with binoculars that were thoughtfully provided. Will definitely be returning.
