Recalling the narrow remote valleys of Scotland, the Greer Glen Lodge is a blend of Celtic folklore and the highlands of Arizona's White Mountains. At 8,500 feet in elevation and surrounded by national forest, the village of Greer is the perfect get-a-way for a cool summer break or winter ski trip. The Greer Glen is situated on the Little Colorado River amongst the aspen and spruce pine.
The Greer Glen is newly refurbished and sleeps 6-22 people, starting at $550/night. A full kitchen and laundry room are included as well as a 2 story living room, fireplace and sun deck that overlooks the meadow.
The property is managed off site, providing you the utmost privacy with a support services offered locally.
We've always loved the outdoors and places to gather friends and families---and enjoy creating memorable experiences for our guests. The Greer Glen Lodge connects people and nature and it is magical to see it happen!
Tammy Farris purchased this lodge in 2008
Arizona's high country has always brought a sense of rest and reflection ---- a place to unwind and enjoy the beauty, colors and smells of the great outdoors. Greer is 8500 ft. elevation and has a slower pace than Pinetop/Lakeside/Show Low. This property sits quietly at the end of the Amberian Meadow, overlooking the mountains and the Village of Greer. The views are breathtaking!
Large rooms and bathrooms - comfortable space for the whole family! Private yet close to amenities.
Everyone, from ages 2 through 65, had a great time. Plenty of room for everyone and everything we needed was available at the lodge. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and it was extra special that we all could stay in one place. The mountain air and the spectacular views were a nice change from home. Everyone got to wear jackets, gloves and hats for a change. Most of us enjoyed a hike through town and some even tackled the mountains. The local restaurant proprietors were very friendly and we enjoyed the delicious milk shakes they served. Hopefully we can return either in the summer or cold of winter for some snow. The only downfall was the cell phone service worked too good. Caught the young folks connecting with the outside world a little more than I would have liked.
This cabin is exactly as pictured and has a great location and lot! The views were fantastic. We were so surprised at how large this cabin actually was! We had plenty of space for our extended family (5 families total). Checking in was easy with the coded locks. They did warn us about cell service not being very good so if you want a chance to unplug...this is it. We had to walk down the main street just to make a phone call or get a text message to go through. The internet worked well though and we took advantage of the beautiful weather out on the decks. We definitely want to come back and do some more hiking in the area.
We really enjoyed the Greer Glen. It was spacious enough for the 17 people we had in our group. We had 9 younger kids and the property was perfect for them to play in. The Greer Glen has plenty of room for large groups and the layout is awesome. There were a few issues with things not working properly or missing (fold out bed was broken in one room, drains in bathtubs didn't work, no ladder for one set of bunk beds and no dishwasher) but all in all it was a great stay. If we have a large group going up again we will absolutely consider the Greer Glen.
For any kind of youth trip, extended family gathering, or retreat that requires accommodating a group of 20-30, this is the best deal around. Tammy is very hospitable and will work with whatever needs you might have for a getaway. Our group had around 30 and while some of the teens were on the floor, the facility easily fit us. Best of all, financially this was definitely the best option for our church group. I highly recommend utilizing this wonderful cabin.
Every year my children and grandchildren take advantage of at least two rental locations that we can all be together for a few days. This year was at the Greer Glen. This was a nice location, a little more rustic but it provided everything we needed. The children had a ball going out and playing in the snow and I particularly enjoyed finding everything imaginable in the kitchen to cook my meals with. I would certainly suggest this rental it had plenty of space for large groups and we all felt nice and cozy. Thank you for sharing your home.
