Glebe House is a beautiful country house, which sits in lovely grounds on the side of a hill, with fabulous views of the surrounding North Cotswolds countryside. This large Cotswold stone house is located on the edge of the popular and picturesque village of Naunton, which is set well away from busy roads and benefits from a good village pub, a golf course and many beautiful walks straight from the doorstep. The house also has views across to Grange Hill Farm, home of the the well known National Hunt trainer, Nigel Twiston-Davies, whose horses can be seen out in training most days. The well known market towns of Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water are both within six miles, with their wide range of pubs, shops and restaurants. Naunton is also within easy reach of many tourist destinations, including Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare.
This grand house is laid out over three floors, with lovely views from all the principal rooms, and a wealth of character, including exposed Cotswold stone walls, oak floors and real fires in the drawing room, library and sitting room. The character of the house is complemented by its modern facilities, including wireless internet access, two flatscreen TVs and a stunning, recently installed kitchen.
Glebe House sleeps a maximum of 10+2 people in five bedrooms, with the +2 on a sofa bed in the snug. There are three ensuite bathrooms, a family bathroom and two cloakrooms. The property is surrounded by beautiful gardens and there is parking space on the driveway for at least six cars. Glebe House is perfect for a gathering of friends or families, seeking a relaxing break in a stunning property, with spectacular views of the surrounding Cotswold countryside.
Booking and payment
Character Cottages is a marketing agency and we do not own or manage any of the cottages listed on our website. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner.
For bookings commencing more than 10 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 10 weeks prior to arrival.
All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.
A security deposit of £350 is payable, which is returned after the letting period, subject to an inspection of the property. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival. In the event that the owners, or their appointed housekeepers, have to spend additional time tidying up after your departure, then the cost of this extra time may be deducted from your security deposit. The security deposit is payable prior to arrival at the property, via a bank transfer or a valid debit or credit card.
The maximum occupancy of the property, including its grounds, is 12 guests, at any point during your stay. Unauthorised over occupancy is a breach of our terms and conditions and may result in the cancellation of your booking and additional charges. Please consult us prior to booking if you wish to discuss the possibility of having more than 12 guests at the property.
Infants who sleep in a cot do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions, the occupancy figure may only be exceeded by up to two additional infants.
Regrettably, pets are not accepted.
Bed linen and towels
Bed linen and towels are provided for guests.
Arrival and departure times
Arrival time is after 4pm and departure time is by 10am. Access is via a key safe, therefore it does not matter if you are arriving late at night.

Heating, fuel and logs
The property has an oil fired central heating system.
Electricity and oil are included in the rental price. An initial supply of logs is provided for the real fires in the library, drawing room and sitting room, and further log supplies can be purchased locally.
The property has free wireless internet access and Freeview TVs in the sitting room and the snug.
Mobile phone reception is generally OK.
The property has a private entrance and driveway, with parking space for at least six cars.
Where a letting exceeds nine nights, a mid-stay clean, bed linen and towel change may be included in the price. Please check with us to confirm. Additional housekeeping services may be available on request.
Child friendly facilities
Children are permitted, subject to the Health & Safety notice below. Please note that guests with infants will need to bring their own travel cots and high chairs, as required.
A small quantity of initial consumables is provided for your convenience (eg. tea, coffee, sugar, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, soap, washing powder, toilet rolls, etc), however, you should not expect the quantity of these provisions to be sufficient for the duration of your stay.
Accessibility, health and safety
The property is laid out over three floors, which could pose difficulty to guests with limited mobility, or carrying babies, both in terms of their general movement and their ability to quickly exit the house in the event of an emergency.
The owner wants to specifically highlight to potential guests that all young children within a party must be supervised at all times, as the house has many steps inside and the landscaped gardens have several hidden drops, steep flagstone steps, and some steep concrete steps down to the lower garden areas. This notice serves as a formal disclaimer and, by booking this property, you agree that the property owner cannot be held responsible for any accidents, trips or falls within either the house or its grounds.
The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk.
As noted above, the garden is terraced and could be unsuitable for guests with limited mobility.
No smoking is permitted throughout the property.
Hen, Stag and other same sex groups
Unfortunately, Hen, Stag and other same sex groups are not allowed at Glebe House. Please note that same sex family groups are welcome.
CCTV cameras are installed on outside of the property, for security purposes.
