Overview

About the property

Whistling Jack is a beautiful terraced fisherman's cottage, tucked away on a quiet lane right in the heart of St Ives.

The property is arranged over four floors: the lower floor is comprised of a kitchen/dining room and a bathroom; the ground floor (main entrance) is the living room; the master bedroom and family bathroom are on the first floor; and the second bedroom (with twin beds) can be found up a quaint staircase in the eaves of the house - making Whistling Jack the perfect getaway for either a couple or a family. Please note that the stairs to the top floor are narrow and quite steep.

Victoria Road is in the heart of Downalong, ideally located between three of the town's gorgeous beaches - the Harbour, Porthmeor & Porthgwidden - and just minutes from the world-renowned Barbara Hepworth museum and the Tate, not to mention St Ives' abundance of fantastic restaurants and bars. There is even a coffee house a stone's throw from the property for those mornings when instant just doesn't quite hit the spot!

About Alexandra Bright

I bought Whistling Jack in the summer of 2015 - I grew up in St Ives and my family are still here, so I wanted a place to call my own in what I consider the most beautiful place in the world. I currently spend most of my time in London, therefore let Whistling Jack when I am unable to bring friends down and use it myself.

Alexandra Bright purchased this cottage in 2015

Why Alexandra Bright chose St Ives area

As soon as I saw Whistling Jack I fell in love - the location is perfect (a stone's throw from the harbour, yet tucked away on a quiet side road), and the fisherman-style cottage so quaint; exactly what I had in mind for my first home! Hopefully you will love it as much as I do.

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

I recently stayed at Whistling Jack and loved it. The location is ideal. It's beautifully decorated, the kitchen is large and well equipped and the beds are really comfortable.

It has everything you need for an enjoyable holiday.

I will definitely return.

The perfect holiday house in an amazing central location in the heart of St Ives

  • 5 of 5

Whistling Jack is the perfect place to get away from it all in the heart of St Ives. Alex is a friendly owner who has been really helpful. The house is spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished with a contemporary style that perfectly compliments its traditional exterior giving it real home from home feel. Living accommodation is over 4 floors and the stairs are quite narrow/steep so we were quite fit at the end of the week! It is in an amazing location surrounded by a beautiful beaches only a few hundred meters away. We loved the cafe and beach at Porthwidden and were delighted by the range of independent shops and cafes it is still possible to find in St Ives. The perfect place to chill out for a week, find beaches to sit on or surf and enjoy the arty vibe of a beautiful town. Would recommend.

One of our favourite holidays in St Ives

  • 5 of 5

We loved Whistling Jack the moment we walked in. It was very clean and comfortable and had a very homely feel. A lot of thought has obviously gone into the decoration and furnishings. We've been visiting St Ives for many years it is one of our favourite destinations and the position of Whistling Jack helped us to enjoy our holiday more by having everything on our doorstep.

Fantastic cottage - with everything you need.

  • 5 of 5

Great cottage, clean and cute with everything you need for your holiday.

Close to centre of St.Ives but away from the noise.

Stairs step up to 2nd bedroom but manageable.

Will definitely book again.
