This splendidly furnished apartment basks in natural light, with high vaulted ceilings, a south facing patio garden and gated parking. Built as a charity hospital in 1850, it has now been converted, making a relaxing retreat. York is a living museum, with evidence of Roman, Anglo Saxon, Viking, Norman and Tudor visitors, yet is still a lively, modern city with shopping, tea shops, riverside pubs, restaurants and a vibrant night life. Lovely long weekend break in this lovely apartment.

Cannot praise this place enough, booked as a short break for me, my wife and our toddler. The owners had taken care to provide a high chair, cot, toys and had taken some steps to baby proof (adding plug socket covers etc). The toddler loved it and ran round having lots of fun in all the space. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking and the owners had left lots of thoughtful touches, scones, jam, strawberries for the baby. The apartment was spotless throughout and every need was covered. I cannot recommend this place enough, if I ever return to York for another visit then I/we will be staying here for sure!...

Warm, clean, welcoming apartment/owners, and such a short walk from everything we wanted to see. Perfect base to both sight-see and relax.

Wonderful experience

Mary and Philip greeted us when we arrived and showed us around the property. They provided us with some goodies from Betty’s Tea Room, which were wonderful! The apartment was perfect, clean, spacious, well-decorated. We loved the outdoor patio space. Easy walk into the historic center. Highly recommend!
