About Judith Smith
Hi, I'm Judith; co-owner of Silver Arrow Cottage. My husband and I bought the property in 2007 when it was a derelict mining building. We spent 4 years converting it into our home and this cottage. It was a labour of love and we are very proud of what we achieved. The building is eco-friendly and benefits from the latest technology in insulation. It is heated with a ground-source heatpump and we have solar pv and solar thermal panels. It's a little bit of luxury and just goes to prove that comfort doesn't cost the earth!

Why Judith Smith chose Saint Ive

Outstanding with expectations completely exceeded & amazing hosts!
Excellent correspondence from initial enquiry, booking, payment and imminent arrival. Lovely greeting, extremely relaxed, accommodation superbly appointed with everything you need for self-catering whether a short stay or holiday. We think the special touches and thoughtful additions are particularly worth a mention. Little things such as able to utilise the fresh raspberrys growing, the Cornish biscuits, provided, which went down very well with a cup of tea. Milk, tea & coffee and condiments all provided which was unexpected. Everything was spotless, highly secure, private and exceptionally peaceful and quiet.
Superbly located for the surrounding area, a short drive to Liskeard which has everything you need, beautiful coastline to explore. We honestly didn't want to leave. The property has been built with an enormous amount of thought and attention to detail, and the process of its existence and the amazing story regarding it is certainly worth knowing.
We absolutely recommend this beautiful hide-away to couples seeking a romantic get away. If you have respect for people's property, then this is the place to be. We would also like to say a massive thankyou to Snowy for transporting us during our visit, very very appreciated! You made our stay extremely special!
Thankyou so much S & C x
Thank you so much for these kind words. We strive to make our guests happy and exceed their expectations. Very often they return the favour! Thoughtful, considerate guests like S & C are a joy! We'd love to welcome them again! Thank you.
Comfortable Cottage in an ideal location with friendly owners
My wife and I rented Silver Arrow Cottage for the week 21st to 28th December 2017.
We received a warm welcome from the owner Snowy Smith who introduced us to the amazing green energy innovations which he and his wife Judith have incorporated into the cottage.
Silver Arrow is clean and comfortable and an ideal and quiet base for exploring the delights of Cornwall. Liskeard, Looe, Polperro, Bodmin , Fowey and Truro are all within a short, easy drive. We were able to take full advantage of this even in the shortest days of the year.
The finishing touches to our stay were that Snowy and Judith had taken time to put up festive decorations and provide a panettone cake!
We will have no hesitation in recommending this property to friends planning a holiday in Cornwall at any time of year.
Exceptional cottage and hospitality.
From the moment we arrived, and were greeted by Judith and Snowy we new that we had been fortunate with our choice of cottage. Judith showed us the main points and made it obvious that guest satisfaction was the aim of herself and Snowy.
The cottage was clean, warm and well decorated: if it wasn't for the lack of fresh paint smell, we could have believed that it had been refurbished just prior to our arrival.
The following day I had a chat with Snowy beside the well tended garden and he gave me an insight into the 'green' aspects that they have designed into their project, including solar power generation and solar water heating.
Judith and Snowy went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed, and the freedom to enjoy our break.
If anyone is looking for a cottage holiday in east Cornwall/west Devon, then look no further.
Absolutely lovely, well decorated and fully equipped cottage
Awesome cottage! This was a comfortable, lovely place to stay. The hosts Snowy and Judith were so welcoming and very helpful in advising us of places to see, places to eat and anything else we may wanted to know. The eco- self sufficient cottage was an education in itself...we loved hearing about it and experiencing life in this wonderful place. The cottage is beautifully decorated and equipped with everything we needed except a coffee pot. I know most British are tea drinkers and a teapot was available, but we are coffee drinkers and we missed that. I don't mention this as a complaint because there is nothing we would complain about at this beautiful place. The grounds are lovely with a country atmosphere surrounded by many blooming shrubs and flowers. On the rainy days we still were very comfortable with staying in the cottage and reading or watching the large flat screen TV or viewing a video from their abundant selection. This trip was our "dream trip" and this cottage helped in making our dream come true. Thanks to Snowy and Judith - your planning and work to make this ideal place is greatly appreciated!
