Formerly comprising the old village school house, these mews houses are built on a slope. ‘Upside-down’ in style, this property has stairs leading down to the living room and kitchen area, with patio doors leading out to the terrace.Dogs are well catered for, with a dog shower, dog beds and bowls and a secure courtyard garden. It is just a short stroll down to the village with its amenities and the famous Wookey Hole Caves and the paper mill. The area is ideal for walkers and cyclists, with lots of open access land and a myriad of cycle paths and footpaths. Horse riding, golf, clay pigeon shooting, rock climbing and caving are some of the favourite adventure activities, and the area is internationally recognised as one of the best bird watching locations in the world. You can walk from the door up into the Mendips and down into Wells itself, which is only a few miles away. Wells is a small city, with a magnificent cathedral, many medieval buildings, Bishops Palace, and a lively weekly market in the cobbled square. Also worth a visit is the tor and abbey at Glastonbury, the gorge and caves at Cheddar, the Clarks Village designer outlet at Street, and the Roman spa city of Bath. Within a short drive are the long, sandy beaches at Weston-super-Mare, Burnham-on-Sea and Clevedon. Or take a day trip out to see a vast haven abundant in wildlife, spanning from the coast to the Somerset Levels and moors beyond, as well as old market towns full of quirky features and historic riches - all combining to offer a magical experience that has often been overlooked. Nice place, clean & tidy
Lovely house in a great location. It was clean and welcoming, loved that it was pet friendly! Just a shame that there was only one parking space and other local places were all taken. However, this is a very minor point. Would return in the future... thank you :)
