Great time away. Not my first visit here and won’t be my last. The accommodation has everything you could require, the kitchen is better stocked than some restaurant kitchens. The bed is super comfortable and it is a delight to wake up and see the trees through the skylights. The host is great as is the location. This accommodation allows for either a lazy time away or a busy time exploring (or somewhere in between).
Thanks a million Gary for the lovely comments, was great to see you both again. Not a great weekend of weather but happy you enjoyed it all the same and got a break from the routine. Until the next time!
Super little place: clean, warm, everything well-kept, and lots of little extras (including posh mince-pies, which if I ever allowed myself carbs/gluten, would've been wonderful!). Friendly, congenial owner, great location for Inverness, hiking & Highland walks. Can't recommend highly enough. Will certainly return if I'm in the area again.
Thanks a million for your review Andre, it was a pleasure meeting you. Will need to source some carb free mince pies for next time! All the best to you for this coming year.
Cabin is wonderful, Scott was very helpful. Cant recommend highly enough!
Thanks Jeremy and apologies for such a late reply to your review. Catching up can take me a while at times. Thanks again.
Short autumn break in the Highlands
Property is beautifully presented, cosy, with a comfortable bed and overall very well equipped. The location is pretty and peaceful and well situated for exploring the Great Glen and nearby Cairngorm National Park. The red squirrel and bird feeders were a great addition and we enjoyed watching and photographing the wildlife.
A wonderfully cosy clean cabin well situated for Loch Ness. We stayed for 4 nights in October 2019. The cabin benefits from all mod cons. A lovely break.
Thanks Suzanne and apologies for late reply.

About Scott MacDonald
Hello my name is Scott MacDonald and I have been renting self catering holiday accommodation to guests from all over the world for the best part of 25 years. My first property was a house close to the shores of Loch Lomond in Scotland which I successfully ran for almost ten years until I moved overseas. I then bought an old farmhouse outside the city of Granada in the south of Spain which I let for almost 15 years during which I also purchased a property in Bali, Indonesia. I relocated back to Scotland in 2013 and purchased a piece of land near Inverness where I built a home for my family. I later decided to build the cabin which I completed towards the end of 2015.

Why Scott MacDonald chose Inverarnie
I visited this area for the first time in 2012 and was impressed by the combination of beautiful highland scenery and the relative closeness of Inverness. At 250m above sea level and surrounded by woods and hills Strathnairn has the feel of a much more isolated location but is in fact within very easy reach of the city. This is not such a common combination in the Highlands of Scotland with many of the popular destinations being far off the beaten track. This combination of city and rural works extremely well and many guests seem to agree.
What makes this Cabin unique
This is a beautiful timber clad, contemporary cabin surrounded by mature Scots pines, larches, oaks and silver birches in a truly rural environment yet is only 15 minutes from Inverness. A rather unique combination in our opinion.
