About Scott MacDonald
Hello my name is Scott MacDonald and I have been renting holiday homes for the best part of 25 years. My first property was a house close to the shores of Loch Lomond in Scotland which I rented successfully for almost ten years until I moved overseas and decided to sell up. I then purchased an old farmhouse in the south of Spain which I let for almost 15 years. During that time I also purchased a property in Bali, Indonesia which I sold some years later once I had decided to relocate. More recently I moved home to Scotland in 2013 and purchased a piece of land near Inverness where I built a home for my family. I later decided to build the cabin which I completed towards the end of 2015.

Why Scott MacDonald chose Inverness
I visited this area for the first time in 2012 and was immediately impressed by the combination of beautiful highland scenery and the relative closeness of Inverness. At 250m above sea level and surrounded by woods and hills Strathnairn has the feel of a much more isolated location but is in fact within very easy reach of the city. This is not a common combination in the highlands of Scotland with most of the popular destinations being far off the beaten track. For my family this was important since we needed to be close to a major hospital but it struck me that this city/rural combination would also be advantageous to many others.

An incredible place to stay. We went for our honeymoon and it was perfect. The cabin is just as shown in the photos, wonderfully located in the countryside but not too far from Inverness or local attractions. We will definitely be going back.
Thanks to both of you for the lovely comments and for taking the time to send us such a nice card, it was very kind. I'm so glad your trip was a success and you enjoyed yourselves. We would be absolutely delighted to have you back again.
Perfect get away!
Absolutely love this cabin. This is the second visit and still impressed. Very beautifully presented, fully equipped with everything you need. Tranquil environment. Great welcome from the owner Scott. Would definitely recommend.
Was lovely to see you both again and happy to note we are managing to keep up the same standards as for your last trip. As I said, if there is a next time, let me know in advance so I can apply a discount.
Short autumn break near to Inverness
We enjoyed a fantastic few days in and around Inverness, with the cabin at Farr a perfect base. The cabin had everything we needed and was extremely comfortable and cosy. It is set in a secluded wooded area but still not far from Inverness.
The owner met us on arrival and made sure we had everything we needed. The pre-arrival communications were excellent.
We will certainly be recommending this accommodation to our friends.
Thanks John and apologies for late reply
The property was just as advertised
A very warm and comfy stay with everything you needed :)
Thank you Alison, I am glad you both enjoyed your stay and everything was it should have been. All the very best to you
Everything we needed and wanted
Thanks for your review Daniel, I appreciate it
The most beautiful setting
Very welcoming, and an unbeatable location. Very tranquil and quite setting close enough to get to Inverness should you want to go, but just as nice to stay local and explore the small towns. Hiking trails across the road were wonderful. I would love to come back.
Thanks Genna and Bryan, I hope you both enjoyed your stay in Scotland. You are welcome here any time.
