Why Terry Carbonell chose Fall Creek Falls

The beauty of having a small airplane is that you travel to anywhere in the United States that you like, and find some really interesting out-of-the-way places in the process. Several years back when a business trip brought me to the Nashville area, I got fogged in and could not leave so I decided to explore the Cumberland Plateau. The area grabbed my heart - and my checkbook. I purchased 2 plots of land and constructed 2 log cabins for me and all of you, my guests, to enjoy. I have tried to fill the cabins with everything you could possibly want for a getaway and I jokingly tell everyone ' ... just bring your toothbrush; everything else is there.'

While I enjoy puttering around the cabins, I also enjoy hiking the many State recreational parks in the area - Fall Creek Falla, Burgess and Rock Island. I particularly like the waterfalls at Rock Island where the water comes out through a crack in the rocks rather than over the top - and I have flown over the top so I know that there is no water there! But THE BEST waterfalls in your own back year. Please walk down the stairs with your morning coffee and enjoy the falls at Stone Creek. It is provate and all yours to enjoy.

What makes this cabin unique

My favorite things to do at Stone Creek'

1. Sit and watch the waterfalls on the lower deck

2. Sit on the rock and watch the day go by - especially during leaf season

3. Build a fire in the outdoor firepit and make s'mores

4. Walk the trails behind the cabin

5. Tell people that I am sorry but my cell phone does not work up there!

Cozy little place with an incredible view!

  • 5 of 5

Surprised my husband with a little getaway.. coming up on the place we were unsure what to expect. Nice cabin with supplies for cooking (dollar general store close by, too). And was only about 20 min from the park. The view just past the pack little field this place sits in is jaw dropping. And the waterfall off to the side was awesome, too. Great little place. We really enjoyed it. Owner was super accommodating.

Beautiful cabin and waterfall

  • 4 of 5

It was very secluded and the waterfall was beautiful. It is perfect for anyone looking for a quiet getaway. The inside of the cabin was clean and very pretty but there is not actually a bedroom. The bedroom is just a partition so don't expect privacy. There were a few things missing from the pictures we saw: the badminton net was not there, no place to play horseshoes and we did not find the rock lined trail until the day we left. The trail opening was grown up and it was not lined with rocks. Also, the book in the cabin talked about a Wii but we did not see one. The wifi worked great and there were several movies available to watch on the DVD player when it rained.

We really enjoyed our stay.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at this charming cabin. It is perfect for two adults. It was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed both the private waterfall and the Vista you could see only by walking out to the end of the yard. Really secluded, but easy to find. Would definitely book this one again.

Beautiful! I'm in love!!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful secluded cabin, loved waking up in the morning and enjoying coffee on the cabin deck listening to the waterfall!! With only about a 20 minute drive to Falls Creek Falls and just a short drive to other surrounding parks to enjoy. Will definitely stay at this cabin again. Highly recommended for couples for a getaway trip.❤❤❤❤❤

Nice Get Away

  • 4 of 5

This cabin was very nice. It was well stocked with everything you would need... including a blow dryer, shampoo, conditioner and soap. The shower was beautiful. The waterfall was nice... a really steady flow didn't occur until Sunday morning, as we were checking out. The view from the Rock.... amazing. I'd love to see it during the fall. Renters do need to realize that this is definitely secluded... but the directions provided were spot on, with a little help from a GPS. There is a grocery store (if you can call it that) about a mile away and then a nicer one about 4 miles away... other than that... (insert crickets here or moos... as this is definitely a farm town). If you go across 111 to the end of Charcoal road you can catch sunset that will absolutely let you know how God can paint a picture. The cabin is very close to Fall Creek State Park, which is why we went anyway. The fire pit was amazing... and we had no problem getting it to light. The reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5? No wifi. Yes, I had read the other reviews and in all honesty we did not even try to connect the wifi UNTIL.... the weather turned scary. Wind, rain, and tornado warnings. We frantically tried to connect.... followed all the directions... (we are not tech savvy, but we can hook up wifi). We could not hook it up and never found the "silver box" mentioned in the booklet We had no cell service, except on the deck (but it was storming) and then.... drum roll please.... the dish TV went out. So... think about it.... we were in a secluded area, no connection to the outside world and there are tornado warnings all over. By the time the dish network resumed, the second round of bad weather was coming. I think it would have been nice if someone, who is responsible for the rental (I know the owner lives in FL) to have called and checked on us. We rented through Monday, but got up and left Sunday morning. I really think the wifi needs to be updated. BTW.. the stains on the rockers and ottomans are from a roof leak. About 2am Sunday morning, when the weather turn scary again, I kept hearing something "tapping". Turned on the lights and saw a steady drip of water from the roof onto the ottoman closest to the bed. It appears to be in the middle of the cabin.

Thank you again for allowing us to use your cabin.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We have addressed the internet. Ben Lomand, the provider, changed everything to a new system. They removed the box and gave us (drum roll, please......) a new password which is NOW listed on VRBO in the Hospitality information. It should also be written in the book. Satellite TV stinks in the rain no matter where you are. If they had a cable option, I would,be the first to purchase it. I was unaware of the roof leak and will get someone out there immediately. In the future, please feel free to call or text me any time. I try to give guests peace and quiet for their vacation but remain a phone call away if you need me. Thanks.
